We actually showed up half an hour early for our appointment and we were able to be seen right away. The staff was so friendly and of course Shadow was his charming self until it came to the exam lol. They were gentle with him and gave him plenty of treats afterwards . His Doctor was friendly and very enthusiastic about Shadow being in such good shape . He has nice teeth , clean ears, clear lungs . Knowing all of this made me relax more. He got a clean bill of health with the exception that he's FIV positive. Shadow is the only cat in our house and he's strictly a indoor cat. Even with that he can and will live a full life . One of the ladies did agree with me that he looks like he's part Russian Blue. In terms of cost the initial exam was free because we adopted him from LHS . I did pay for some additional testing and I think it was a fair price . Shadow does have pet insurance for those just in case moments hopefully they'll be none of those. Wanted money upfront for first time appointment to "hold my time slot ". Receptionist asked why was I wanting my dog to be seen, then proceeded to tell me possible causes and what I should try first! I just got my first puppy as an adult back in May and was really nervous with what to do. I looked around for many days trying to find the perfect vet and came across this clinic. They are the friendliest people I've ever met and truly care about my Layla, they play with her and talk to her and even comfort her when she needs a shot. She loves going and I've had no problems. The most it's been for her very first 8 week appointment was $240 which in the grand scheme of things is not bad. I would recommend this vet office to anyone. Richmond Road Veterinary Clinic is a wonderful animal clinic. As my dog grew older and began having issues, the staff at RRVC were there helping me care for and keeping her at her healthiest. They are friendly and knowledgeable. Whenever I called, I talked to a person, not a recording. The office staff is fantastic, everyone is smiling and friendly. They listened and returned my call with the answer from the vet when I had a question. I felt that everyone there loves animals and has only the best in mind for care. The vets and techs are great and are thorough in their examination and recommendations of next steps. They also understand that money can be an issue and did not push to do things that I could not afford. Unfortunately, my dog had to be euthanized for cancer. Everyone there was so compassionate and caring during the difficult process of saying goodbye. They treated her like they would treat their own pets and I will forever be grateful to them. Excellent vet! Dr.Holaday is really caring and compassionate! My baby needed emergency on his bbladder due to a blockage. She got him in within 25 minutes after my call,and got him into surgery with an hour of arrival! The doctor herself called us several times a day with updates. They allowed me to come visit while he was there. When an infection popped up on Sunday afternoon we called Dr Holaday ( she had given us her cell $) at 9am and she saw him at 11am. My wife has been going here for years with all of our pets and simply loves visiting here. Several years ago, this office was doing a routine procedure with a nine-month old kitten when the poor little fellah's heart and lungs gave out due to an unexpected congenital defect. This office was amazingly sweet. They called us to come over late at night when things started going poorly, trying to get us there before the inevitable happened. Even had him later cremated by our request, and gave us a pawprint impression and charged us NOTHING. ZERO. ZIP. ZILCH. And, although Veterinarian visits are often expensive, this place is quite reasonable. And they recently remodeled their facility! I can't really see us taking our pets anywhere in the near future. Outstanding vets here to take care of your fur babies. Typically see Dr Wynn who is one of the kindest, compassionate, knowledgeable vets. She will get down on the floor while examining my dog. We had a emergency and couldn't get to our vet a few hours away. I called a few places and no one would get us in. I called Richmond Road Veterinary and they immediately got us in. They took care of Crockett and they where so kind. We've since decided to make them our vets. Our vet is super sweet he goes over any questions that we have. They haven't had any problems getting us in and have been very helpful. I know that when we take Crockett to the vet he is getting taken care of. Doc Holoday is awesome to all of our dogs. She's fast but makes sure your questions are answered before you leave. We have taken our dogs there since moving to Kentucky and have not been disappointed. I have never waited more than a few minutes before she sees my dogs. They have treats in all the exam rooms which helps distract the dogs while being treated. We had to put one of my dogs down last year and they were very comforting and respectful. They offered me as much time as I needed to say goodbye. I could have probably stayed until midnight if I wanted. We have an Australian shepherd that is very protective of my wife. I thought it would cause an issue at the vet but Dr. Holoday and the whole staff has earned the trust of my two dogs as well as my wife and I. The staff is also awesome. They are always friendly and treat my dogs like they are theirs. read more

Have to admit writing this is a bit heart breaking for me. Dr. Marsh and his staff see my two cats. Staff is excellent with all the exams, very courteous, never have to wait for their appointments. Sadly, last Friday, after our kittens neutering and declaw, Crookshanks passed away. What comforts me most and has convinced me to keep bringing my Khamir here is that they were checking on my little man at 8:00 on a Friday night. Noticed some breathing problems and Dr. Marsh was on the phone with me right away. Letting me know what was happening and everything that they were doing. Sadly, Crookshanks's heart was just too weak and he slipped away a couple hours later. A small defect to the left side which was unnoticed by three vets and at least three techs was to blame. However, even if his condition was diagnosed before hand, I still would have opted for the neuter. Since he passed late Friday while we were visiting my husbands sister, we waited till Saturday morning to say goodbye to our Crookshanks. Dr. Marsh told us in detail everything that they did for our little man and I truly believe that everything possible was done for him. They even had him ready to hold and say goodbye to, again, I have to mention how awesome be caring the staff is. We opted to have Crookshanks cremated. This was done by another vet in the area, very nicely done. Even a little pressing of his big ol' man paws. We were told there was no charge for any of this when we went to pickup his ashes. I hate having to go through this. And hate that anyone ever does, but Dr. Marsh and staff are very caring and lovely people. I will recommend them to anyone I know. read more

My dog was in her final chapter with several severe issues. Dr. Smith & staff were so kind, informative, ethical, professional, non-judgmental and compassionate. Dr. Smith tweaked my dog's meds, called to check on her and quickly answered my emails. His care alleviated her suffering, gave me a few more weeks with her, and he was there for us when it was time to say goodbye which is the worst thing in life. They're even good at handling my anxious 100-lb dog. A few times we've had to euthanize old sick pets and the staff was very kind and sensitive. My husband and I took our corgi in a few times over the past couple months. We love the staff, and Dr. Holaday was incredible each time. She is knowledgeable, kind, and has a wonderful bedside manner. She cares for both the pet and the owner, which made a huge difference for us. From our boy's initial diagnosis to his last days, Dr. Holaday was there every step of the way. She even called me to repeat everything she told my husband when I couldn't make it to visits. Have taken my dog for a weekend vet trip since my vet was closed as well as for a grooming. Great customer service, very caring towards dogs and wonderful option to have for the weekend. Richmond Road Vet Clinic is a great facility. They have taken the best care of my dogs. I'll always take my fur babies to them. They are very caring not only to the animals but also the owners. My 17 year old Pomeranian, Cocoa, passed away at home. It happened at 5:24 am on November 14, 2016. When the clinic opened at 7:00 am, I was there with my Cocoa. They were very kind and supportive. They placed me in a room with my fur baby so I could spend private time with her. I could stay as long as I needed to say goodbye. The clinic took care of Cocoa with dignity. read more

Most of the reviews I've seen here have involved a pet dying, and I'm sorry for that loss, but I do not like the services I have received from this clinic. I have taken my dog to see Dr. Holiday twice, and I was out $500 for a simple UTI diagnosis that I knew my dog already had. This office is outrageously expensive, and I have had no problem paying my vet bill, but the first time I went, I did not expect to have to pay nearly $300 for a simple exam and vaccine checkup. We explained to her we did not have the money immediately, and so she automatically had us sign up for Care Credit (we had just moved to the area, and of course were denied because of it), so she compromised care for our dog so she could collect. The medicine we received the first time did not work, and so we had to go back, and before she even started to assess the patient, she wanted to talk to us about how to save money. If I can pay, what is it any of her business? I have never had a late bill in my life, it's just that she charges more than most for nonsense. I am now taking my dog to a better vet (cheaper too), and have decided that RRVC is not a place for someone who is on a budget. read more
