While shopping at La Encantada I walked into Blue Mercury with an agenda...to buy a few products and look for a new foundation. This was my first time in the store and the salesperson I met was welcoming, friendly and helpful. However, when it was discovered that the foundation I wanted to purchase was out of stock and I said I would wait and get it at a later time my pleasant experience went sour...as I was paying for my other products (@$200 worth) an older lady (assuming the manager) came out of nowhere and swooped in and tried to pursued me to purchase a foundation they had in stock. Now in all fairness, I did like that foundation too but liked the other one better and made the decision to wait for the "out of stock" one to be restocked. Bottom line, I don't like pushy sales people and I don't solicit businesses where I experience this. I will not be returning to Blue Mercury any time soon. Instead of being appreciative that I was purchasing @$200 worth of products it was made clear to me that they wanted a bigger sale and tried to pursued me to purchase something I really didn't want to purchase. My suggestion to Blue Mercury is appreciate and show respect to EVERY client that enters through your doors without the pressure to buy (or buy more in my case!) and they will probably be more willing to return time and time again if they feel they are welcome without the pressure to purchase. read more

I have been shopping here for the past two years and never leave disappointed. Maria and her crew are always kind, professional, and so much fun. Everyone working the floor is knowledgable about not only the products, but also which ones will work best for my skin type, my coloring, etc. One more note: I don't understand why someone would give a bad review for carrying expensive product. I stopped in here yesterday looking to restock on some higher end skin care items that I can't get at Sephora (I usually prefer Blue Mercury for skincare). I found the two Skinceutical items that I was specifically looking for but when I went to check out the manager informed me that if I spent $200 on Skinceuticals I would get a free CE Ferulic sample (and it is big!!! so well worth adding another $50!!). I went back to look at the products and another employee was super helpful helping me pick two more items AND gave me about 5 samples of other Skinceutical products that I have not yet tried! One of them was the Photo Corrective Green gel mask which was super soothing on my really dry and irritated neck and chest skin...I plan to go back in the next week or two to buy the full size. On top of all this when I was about to walk out the manager asked the girl that was helping me if she applied the additional discount since I spent a certain amount of money. She had forgotten to do this so the manager fixed this. Since I got more money back than I was expected I asked if I could get a couple more things! There was a Nars eye shadow that I loooooved but they could not find it in stock or online to order. Apparently it was discontinued. The manager then said I could just keep the display one for free!!!! It had barely been used and obviously I would need to clean it off with alcohol but I was so impressed with her generosity and the lengths she went to ensure I left a happy customer. She also showed me a new foundation brush that was beautiful. I explained that Sephora currently had that same brush for 20% off and she happily price matched for me. All in all I was blown away by the customer service this store (and especially the manager) provided. I am only visiting the area for a couple months but I will definitely be back to stock up before I leave. We also do not have Blue Mercury where I live so when I need a restock on some of these items I will probably call to place my order. The store is pricy but I will always pay more for high end skincare and when I feel like the employees truly care and go out of their way to show me new products and samples and let me know what the best deals are! read more

This is proven skin care product that has made a difference. have no problem with the staff, Knowledgeable, friendly and accommodating. My problem is the rewards program. I am easily at the $1000. dollar level....yet due to the lack of computer skills by the staff, not once in 3 years have I received : 1. $5.00 for every $100. Ive spent..(I should have more than $200. in rewards!! 2. No quarterly Beauty Cards for free product 3. No personalized beauty treatment in my birthday month Recently I ordered over $400.00 in product to be mailed to me... couldn't figure out to send an email validating my purchase! Headed out to the gorgeous la Encantada Mall yesterday; popped in here for the first time and was greeted by 2 wonderful ladies, and I regret I didn't get a name for either but they were beyond accommodating. I wanted a new scent and we tried so many, I ended up buying 3 as roller balls/travel size but will be back to get a larger in the one I have settled on. I have never had such great service anywhere, so much patience, and guidance, and every time I write a review in 2020 I have to add that if I had to wear a mask while working, I would have zero patience for anything so to encounter 2 such wonderful souls as this was a wonderful experience. I love this store! The girls are all very helpful and know a lot about the different lines they carry. I prefer buying my Nars and Laura Mercier here over Nordstrom because it's much less crowded. They carry a number of different high end skin care lines, Tocca fragrances and amazing candles as well. I've gotten fantastic service every time I visit. Their skin therapist Regina is amazing also! It's funny that some people would complain about the prices in a high end boutique located in La Encantada. Maybe they don't realize that kind of comes with the territory... however, the brands usually set the prices anyway, and my Nars blush is the same price there as it is anywhere else. Went shopping here for their special sales event. Maria helped me find some lovely new eye shadow, nice mascara and a new lip stain. She was very patient while I looked at everything. So many choices. When I got home I realized the tinted sunscreen I had purchased was a shade too dark for me. Exchanged it a couple of days later for the lighter shade with no problems at all. Nice to have a place to shop for a variety of great brands all in one place here in Tucson. I do sometimes feel like I didn't put on enough makeup before shopping here though lol. I'm just a couple of years shy of the big 3-0 so investing in those any-aging serums, lotions and potions has been looming over me for quite some time now. I spontaneously walked into Blue Mercury after a meeting the other day and left happy as a clam. I spent about 40 minutes with Hillie, one of their estheticians. INTERESTING FACT: Blue Mercury only hires estheticians to work the floor, so you're guaranteed to talk to an expert in the field. Anyway, Hillie blew me away. She thoughtfully answered all of my questions and she didn't try to up-sell me, which is huge. Knowing your product is the name of the game, and Hillie new all of them! They carry several skincare lines, and thats a lot to remember and most importantly knowing how to match the right product for your customer. I could've easily walked out of there with an entire collection of stuff, but Hillie didn't let me. Interesting right? She instructed me to follow her basic program for a few weeks and get into a regular rhythm instead of buying a whole bunch of stuff I may not use or really like. I was also given samples to test out at home. Personalized customer service is rare these days, luckily it can be found at Blue Mercury. In addition to skincare products, Blue Mercury also carries makeup, spa products, body lotions, candles, and essential oils. There's too much great stuff in this little store! She was great, super helpful and not pushy at all. They also have a salon in the back for skin services so I inquired about an eyebrow wax. Regina was able to accommodate me right away, while Mindy helped my friend with her make up. Regina was very thorough and did a great job! The service here makes the snotty Rodeo Drive crew who dissed Julia Roberts look like Mother Teresa types. The products I wanted were out of stock, and the snotty salesperson not only offered no information about when they would be available, but also did not offer alternatives. I come here about every six weeks or so because they are the only place in town that stocks a particular hair product line that I use every day. Every time I come in I spend $80-$100, and every time I come in I am treated like I'm trying to stuff my pockets and run out of the store. To be fair, the ladies working the register are usually very nice, but the floor walkers always give me the once over before asking if they can put the products I'm holding behind the counter while I keep looking. I've worked retail, so I get that you're there to prevent shrink. But for Pete's sake, it's not hard to be a little less transparent about it. I know writing a yelp review about this is silly, but it's gotten to the point where I have to steel myself before going in there and make the trip as quick as possible so I can minimize how angry the interaction inevitably makes me. I may not walk in wearing Louis Vuitton, but good grief, let me shop in peace. read more

Where I come from when the employees "follow" you around it is to help should you have any questions. I was feeling a little down today so a nice walk through La Encantada is always a remedy for an easy perk up. Beautiful day, lots of folks walking with all sorts of dogs. They always welcome when you stop to ask about their dog. Starting to feel much better. Walked into all the clothing stores. Nothing that I needed, continued upstairs and stopped into Blue Mercury. I have been here a few times in the past. Todays experience was a huge 5 star experience. I was not looking to get any more make up. One of the lovely ladies came up and asked if I was looking for anything in particular. I really wasn't. Just a fun way to just browse at the amazing selection of products. She asked if she could do a little eye make up" thingy". I had the time and felt a little niceness on someone's part would make me feel even better. Suddenly two ladies tended to me. By the time I left the store, I made two best friends forever. I have never met 2 ladies so kind and fun to be around than Randee and Angie. They fussed over me like I was a queen. They didn't even expect me to buy anything. It was just like us girls knew each other from another lifetime. The products they have are the best you can get anywhere. All boutiquey brands, I certainly will come here for my next excursion to the mall. When I got home my hubby even noticed that I looked a bit different.
