I've had several facials at Beauty Republic. I've seen both Marissa and Vanessa, and they are such lovely people. A facial experience with Beauty Republic is really unlike anything else out there. One of the things that drew me to them is that they were willing to use only products that contained plant ingredients. I'm unable to use products with synthetic chemicals because my body is very sensitive to them. Many skincare businesses have a problem with this because so many products that are out there are not actually clean and non-toxic. This was not a problem at Beauty Republic though. Not only did my skin feel fantastic post-facial, they sell products that I can buy to use at home, and there are so many options to choose from that meet my criteria of being clean and non-toxic! Beauty Republic has moved locations and changed their structure since previous review, so a review update is in order! Beauty Republic is now located at the address reflected on their business page here on Yelp. The studio is actually located on a residential property, but it is NOT inside the main house. They make sure to provide you with instructions via text message the day of your appointment, which is very helpful. The studio is now officially a team of two, lead by founder Marissa Duarte and her sister in law Vanessa. The services no longer include nails services. Their focus is entirely on skincare. Vanessa does offer waxing and lash lift/tinting services though! So, if you are looking for a place that is entirely dedicated to facials of various kinds with a holistic approach, this is it! And it's LOVELY. The studio is cozy and super well appointed. I was super relaxed the entire time. I went in for a facial that included gua sha with Vanessa. Vanessa is incredibly sweet and fun to talk to before and after your session. She keeps the session chat free so that you can indulge in all the relaxation possible and I loved it! Another nice aspect to their business is that it is a gratuity free zone, meaning that the pricing on their website is what you pay for and that's it. So you can think of it as the gratuity is included. I've never experienced that before and I must say it's a really nice way to enjoy a treatment. After my facial, Vanessa was gracious with her time and gave me some tips on how to use my gua sha stone at home. Her energy is wonderful and both she and Marissa seem to be super dedicated to continuing their education and developing all the skills they need to be the best! My appointment at another salon was cancelled on short notice so I called here based on Yelp reviews and they worked me in for the same day. The facial was reasonably priced and very enjoyable. Brittany talked to me for a few minutes before we started and talked about her plan for my treatment and all of the products she planned to use. The facial was very relaxing and my skin looks and feels much better. Brittany doesn't leave while the mask does its work, she stays and gives a nice shoulder and arm massage. I love shopping their front selection of beauty products, and have now tried a couple different services (but coming back for more soon!). Recently, I went in to try a wax and eyebrow tint with Vanessa. She is absolutely lovely, and did a fantastic job of grooming my brows to my specifications. The following week I made an appointment with Brittney to try sugaring. Per their website, sugaring is "Body sugaring is an ancient Egyptian method of hair removal using a 100% natural paste of sugar, lemon and water. No resins, No chemicals, no dyes. It's is water soluble, will never adhere to live skin cells, and will not burn skin as it's applied at room temperature and, removes hair in direction of natural growth". Definitely a much more pleasant experience than waxing, and the process afterwards has been a breeze. No healing period, or irritation, and slow re-growth. I can't wait to come back and update my review! What do I want to try next? The "Ultimate Sculpting Facial Massage" which involves cupping of the face for lymphatic drainage, and the "Fan Favorite, Microneedling" to help my skin with aging and smooth fine lines. read more

I absolutely love spending time at Beauty Republic. The space is beautiful and everyone who works here is fantastic at what they do and great with client service. Every service feels like a luxury, even a bikini wax. I go here for waxing, sugaring, tweezing and facials. I love that they offer unique takes on these services, like sugaring as an alternative to waxing (sugaring doesn't stick to the skin as much as wax so it can be better for sensitive skin in certain areas), and fancy and sumptuous facials that include cupping/buccal massage/effective devices like LED lights and microneedles. With all these options, you might expect to be paralyzed with indecision but Paula, Brittney and Marissa all know how to discern exactly what you need. read more

During my visits to see Marissa at BR, I completely shut down. I know that that tike is for me and me alone and I have never felt so pampered. I let her customize my facials all on her own, and I genuinely feel her sending love to me through her hands. I wish I could spend a day there. I know nothing about beauty except that it can be expensive. I had been wanting to try a lash lift after watching a bunch of my girlfriends get into lash extensions and finally went for it because yelp had a $5 off coupon (and I was honestly looking for any excuse to try it). On my way to the salon I stopped at the pharmacy to pick up a prescription and I heard the women in front of me ask the pharmacist what to do because her eyes were inflamed and in pain from a lash job she just got. I instantly got nervous. I shared this with my lash artist, Vanessa, who put all of my worries at ease without any kind of sales pressure. I went forward with the lash lift and was surprised at how intense the results were. The process felt fast even though we were there for an hour and I felt comfortable the whole time. Vanessa and Marissa are the best at what they do! Marissa has minimized my sunspots, reduced wrinkles, built up collagen in my face and got me healthy skin! I had a ton of damage from the Tucson sun (not a huge sunscreen fan) and pregnancy spots that never went away. I wanted to do something nice for my body and had recently heard about Beauty Republic from another local business; while perusing their website I saw they had a facial appointment open for the very next day (Saturday), so I jumped right in! Scheduling online was a breeze, and the salon confirmed my appointment shortly after. I saw Paula for a relaxation facial, which includes an upper body/scalp/arms/hand massage. She was friendly and welcoming and the service was great - I felt so refreshed after my treatment. She looked closely at my skin to recommend some treatments for me, and confirmed throughout the appointment that anything she wanted to try was A-OK with me. All products were organic, high quality, and smelled incredible. A few days later, I can still tell I'm feeling brighter! The only somewhat frustrating piece for me was the noise level - because the high walls around the service areas aren't closed off at the top, I found myself pretty distracted by all the chatting in the lobby and in other rooms. The relaxing/cool tunes somewhat helped to mask the talking. However, this wouldn't keep me from coming back - the space is gorgeous, the facial was fabulous, and I loved seeing Paula! Brittany is an amazing lash artist, and she has worked with me to find the exact look I wanted. Getting lash extensions is a tedious and time consuming process, and sitting with your eyes closed under a bright light and tape under your eyes isn't exactly the most relaxing process, but Brittany makes the time fly by and makes sure that you are comfortable. I was visiting from Seattle and my daughter was attending orientation at U of A so I thought I might take a day to do something for myself like a facial. I chose Beauty Republic because it had good reviews and was literally less than a block away from my hotel - Aloft. I had a wonderful facial by Marissa. It was relaxing and my skin came out glowing. I have sensitive skin but my skin was congested and she cleared my pores successfully without upsetting my skin. I've had facials all over the world and this was one of my favorites. She sent me away with some great products and I was impressed that when I said I wanted a good cleanser but it needed to be under 4 oz. to take on the plane since I was not checking luggage, she gave me a free 3 oz. sample of a cleanser I love. I came back and had my nails done later that day and they looked beautiful. Will definitely be back to Beauty Republic every time I visit my daughter!
