Don't let the building deceive you. Yes it is attached to a gas station but it is well worth what ever drive it takes to get to this place. This is by far the best BBQ you will ever eat, yes the BEST!! As you bite into the ribs you will feel like you were sitting next to the smoker and just handed a fresh rack. My bar for good. Bbq is not fair after living in Austin Texas. That being said there brisket. Is good, but the guy cutting it doesn't know to cut against the grain big mistake, you always CUT against. Good smoke ring and flavor. Rib was good as well, sauces good flavor and consistency. Sides were also good but not boat rocking. I had beans which were from the can with some extra meat added. I would come back! read more

We recently catered Blues Barbecue for a gathering following a funeral of family member. Their service was impeccable. The food arrived early with everything we needed..plates, silverware, plenty of BBQ sauce and dressings for the salad, butter for the rolls, etc. The pulled pork and smoked turkey arrived in one of their hot boxes that kepted the meat hot until we served. Everything was perfect and so delicious and it was nice to not have to cook during that time. I understand why Blues Barbecue is voted best BBQ in Billngs! read more

The food is wonderful but the staff sure has a hard time taking a to go order. They seem to get it wrong every time. When you come in for a pulled pork sandwich and have to take it with you ,you expect to be separate so the bun isn't completely soggy and your side dishes should probably be what you asked for. read more

I miss barbecue since moving up north but this place made me feel at home again. I had the pulled pork and it was fantastic, didn't even need sauce added to it and there really wasn't any fat mixed in as you find sometimes. My friends got the brisket, which I also tried, and you could taste the delicious smoke flavor throughout the meat. As for sides we didn't get too adventurous, chips, a salad and baked beans. I enjoyed the beans and would like to try their other sides next time, and am especially interested in the baked potato topped with pulled pork The staff were very friendly and I love that you can eat in, take out or even do a drive through. The fact that this is technically in a gas station has zero effect on how great a place it is. If you want good barbecue, at a good price that isn't some giant, not nearly as good, national chain stop here. Also I had trouble finding the hours until I physically went there so if anyone was wondering it is open Monday-Saturday 10am (I believe) to 8pm. It was really hopping during lunch and clearly had a good number of regulars so that always seems like a great sign in my book~ read more

Blue's BBQ is a very basic BBQ joint with very good food at very decent prices. The restaurant has established a strong clientele for good reason. The best BBQ on the east side of the state! Used the leftover brisket with beans in the crock pot, and they turned out awesome. The smoke they do on their meats are just right. I've been here several times. The food is fantastic. The ribs fall off the bone and the pulled pork and beef brisket is delicious. I also love the kielbasa. The last time I went I made it home and realized they had forgotten my pulled pork. I called them back and they put the employee who rang me up on the phone. She was a younger girl and asked if I had a smaller cup and if I had looked through the bag. I obviously had, and said sorry it wasn't in there but that I could return. She asked me to bring all of my food back. When I did, she was very rude, did not look through my bag, and was short with me. She said small ribs and shredded pork right? I said yes, and she did give me a cup of pulled pork. I said thank you and she didn't even respond or look at me. No apology. Very rude and poor customer service. When I got home I opened the cup and it was half a normal serving. The rest of the staff is kind but unfortunately that young girl left a bad taste in my mouth. read more

Last week we used Blues BBQ to put on a dinner for about 50 people. We had a meeting to plan the food and they were extremely helpful. When I arrived to pick up the food it was in containers that would keep it warm for several hours and all the guests really love the food. This is a great barbecue place an asset to Billings. An Ok BBQ joint. The beans came straight from a can and had ham mixed in for flavor. The coleslaw is average at best. The ribs where also average and the BBQ sauce is not very flavorful. The prices are cheap so I guess if you are pumping some gas it is not a bad deal. Not the worst BBQ out there, but not really great either. read more

Came here today as we passed through town from the west. Am a BBQ connoisseur and have had some of the best in the country on various biz trips. Seriously: incredible bbq!!!! The baked beans were cowboy-chili-like and were matched only by both the brisket and the ribs. Fall of the bone. Back to the beans. Bite of smokey craziness brisket. Then back to the beans. Whoa factor. You have to bypass the reality of it being in a large gas station setup separated by only a simple glass wall and the fact that they definitely need some storage because boxes and crap were everywhere. But it pales in comparison to the killer food. I will intentionally come back to Billings just for this. I've never said THAT before. Oh and their ranch cheese and bacon pasta was surprisingly awesome bomb dot com as well.
