Came here on a weekend morning to the Milwaukee location and it was so so busy! Thankfully my significant other used the Yelp waitlist to get our names on the list prior to our arrival. When we entered the establishment, we told the friendly hostess that we were on the waitlist. They told us that we would be seated shortly. At this time we were also tracking our seating on the yelp app, which stated that our table was ready. When we showed it to the hostess, they said there was a short delay but they would seat us shortly. We kindly waited on the side and noticed that people who were walking in after us were getting seated before us. We were in no rush since it was the weekend, we were just hungry! We kindly told this to the hostess and showed our status on the Yelp waitlist. The hostess immediately apologized and quickly searched for a manager to seat us. As soon as the manager got word of this, she immediately gave us the first open table in site and apologized again. She offered us a free menu item and we chose the monkey bread. It was AMAZING! Very gooey, moist, and delectable. I ordered an omelette (forgot name) with a side of toast. The coffee is my significant others and he liked it. Overall, amazing staff and employees! I understand how busy this place is and I know it can be difficult to manage everyone during a busy morning. Very pleased with the staff and food at this location! Would highly recommend! I dare you to go there on a weekend and not encounter the mass amounts of people waiting in line to eat there who wholeheartedly agree with the above statement. I don't go as much as I would like because 1. Crowds. 2. I'm stupidly trying to go to other places in hopes they are equally as amazing but failing to find it (here's looking at you Sweet Diner). But on this occasion I was dying to get some of that delicious breakfast in my face. And guess what, it was epic goodness! My friend and I waited the long ass wait. Both starving to death after the Lucky Leprechaun run in Tosa. Finally! Our table was ready. Since we were both famished and having been there numerous times before we were able to order pretty quick. I managed to get one of the benny specials. Ha-ha! That never happens! And my friend also ordered one of the specials with a side of browns. Our food arrived and duh, amazing! I honestly think my friend inhaled hers and I savored the flavor of the Benny special. Our server was pleasant and quick. Filled coffee and water as needed. She even informed me that I got the last Langred Benny special! We arrived 10 minutes early(7 people)and stood by a crowded bar and we kept being asked for our group to move but there was no where to move to. We didn't get seated for our 12:00 reservation until 12:15. The food was delicious, pictured is the blue crab cake. I wasn't a fan of the smaller portions for brunch but it looks like it might have been just my dish. There was one smaller crab cake on a bed of greens with 1 piece of toast cut in half with 2 poached eggs. As a brunch place I thought it would come with a side: hash browns, bacon or sausage but each their one. If you are looking for a group event this wouldn't be in my top 10 places to go. I was torn between a 3 star or 4 star but what was the tipping point was the service. Great atmosphere, great food, and decent prices! Though I didn't prefer the lemon drizzle on my blueberry pancakes my husband loved it. My Hopple Popple was delicious and they even accommodated me wanting ham instead of the spicy sausage it originally comes with. The hot chocolate and ice coffee we got were very tasty as well. As a breakfast spot, this ranks right up at the top and will rival the best local joints in any city. This was like finding a needle in a haystack in Milwaukee, great fresh food breakfast or lunch, and my personal favorite were awesome housemade hash browns that were golden crispy brown outside and perfectly tender inside, egg omelette with Wisconsin cheddar, fresh spinach and diced cherry wood bacon (extra), plus homemade challah bread and fresh squeezed OJ. This was my first time trying Blues after hearing so many great things. We got there at about 9:45 and there was an hour and a half wait. We for seated a little after 11. Service was good and watching the food go by while waiting was a bit torturous. You can however have brunch cocktails and coffee while you wait. We ordered the Monkey Bread with sauce which is like a cinnamon roll but better. It was probably the best part of the meal in my opinion! I ordered the florentine Benedict and my friend ordered the chorizo chicken. The Benedict was cooked perfectly, but I felt it was lacking a little flavor. I probably should of had the original but wasn't in the mood for ham. I did however get a side of bacon with my meal and that was by far some of the best bacon I've had. Fabulous! My friend said her meal was good, I took a bite of it and it had a nice kick to it. Overall it was good but not worth all the hype, especially with that long of a wait. They've sweets that are located in the waiting area for purchase. I wanted to order the upside cherry coffee cake but I didn't have any room! Last thing I want to say, be sure to use their waitlist feature on their Yelp page. You've to be in 25 miles of the restaurant to use this feature (be sure to turn on your GPS) so that it can hone in your location. Once you're within the 25 mile radius, you can input your name/telephone number, the number of people in your party and any addtl notes in the comments field. From there you'll receive a text message from the restaurant sending you a link to check your place in line what's cool you can keep refreshing the link to see where you're at in line. My first takeout from this place was to celebrate an occasion with a nice Brunch! We ordered a Dubliner Benedict and a Seafood Scramble The Dubliner Benedict was ordered with Over Easy Scrambled eggs. The eggs were beautifully done and were Easy as I had requested! The aioli had a nice kick to it but not overpowering. The hash browns were a lot and can be toned down a little frankly. The rye toast, was good but had some thick sides that got tough by the time we got home and reheated the food. Shave off the sides and it gets nice and soft. Now to main bit, the Corned Beef..the meat was cooked perfectly and broke apart so smooth! 2 niggles though - A tad too salty and Puny Portion vis a vis the bread and eggs. The Seafood Scramble was decent but again the meat was considerable less for what you pay (a few mini scallops, 2 shrimps and a small piece of squid). For $15 before taxes and tips, I expect better. The egg again was the highlight and made just the way we were hoping it will be. The dish couldve done with a little more sauce tbh as it was borderline dry. The prices were reasonable. We were able to sit outside, but I was surprised to find how large the restaurant is on the inside -- there's a front and back room -- and how crowded it was for a Wednesday morning! We ordered the monkey bread with crunk it sauce to start. It was good, but the top was a little dry. I don't think it would be a priority in the future. I ordered the lemon cheesecake French toast with sausage. It had great flavor. Not sickenly sweet, which is huge plus for me. The sausage was also very savory and good flavor. My husband got the corned beef hash with the homemade English muffin. The hash was great, it was crispy and good amounts of corned beef. Very tasty. The muffin was ok, but I like a more traditional English muffin. This one was more bread like, without much English muffin flavor. The hash also came with 2 nicely poached eggs. My sister had eggs Benedict with mushroom stuffed hash browns. The hash browns were crispy and were well seasoned. It was also huge! The pulled ham on the eggs Benedict was delicious. The service was excellent. Our server was attentive but didn't hover. Overall it was excellent. The three of use had our breakfast, plus milk and an orange juice for $65 with the tip. I brought my niece up to MKE for a vist to Marquette, so of course we had to come back to Blue's Egg, and then a month later I was in town with my husband for Eric Church. I doubt there's very much that I can add here, since there's already a myriad of reviews. I can start off by saying something that can probably be echoed by many: I have tried many times to come here, only to walk away in disappointment because the wait list read like the Wauwatosa phone book. I simply refuse to wait that long for anything so I haven't been here until the other day. Thursday last, I was on assignment in Wauwatosa, not too far from Blue's Egg and found myself at 11:45 with free time until 1:00 PM. I decided to risk it, and Yelp told me there was a 15-20 minute wait. I could have been seated immediately at the counter, but seats without a backrest don't do it for me, so I opted to wait for a table. The wait was not quite 15 minutes. I had water immediately and Nicole came right after to explain the menu choices. We discussed my personal preferences/needs and she made some suggestions. I opted for the egg salad sandwich (this IS Blue's EGG, after all) and was delighted to learn that I could choose something other than French fries as a side dish. I opted for a mini-fruit smoothie, which turned out to be a marvelous option! (Except for the raspberry seeds, which I was picking out of my teeth all afternoon - but worth it!) Nicole brought out a dish with grapes, butter and jam to go with my meal. I topped it off with my signature glass of chocolate milk. As soon as Nicole brought my sandwich, I knew I would be taking most of it with me. Egg bread (of course) toasted to perfection, egg salad piled high, topped with tomato and spinach. The egg salad is, as you would expect, eggsellent, with a hint of some spice that one doesn't usually encounter in plain ol' egg salad. The egg bread is tasty and I heartily enjoyed it. As I suspected, I took most of it home in an aluminum tray, which was identified and dated so if it is in the refrigerator several [ ] days [ ] weeks [ ] months (choose one) from now, it can be identified as a science project without being opened. No need to worry about my sandwich taking on a life of its own as it has been completely demolished since then, but the identification and date on the package is a nice touch. I had a great experience, the delay to get in wasn't agonizingly long, Nicole is a gem and credit to the wait staff, and I greatly enjoyed my sandwich. I hope I can return someday for a shot at being served more breakfast than I can eat. Yelp needs more photos from Blue's Egg like I need a Saturn III rocket in my back yard, but here's my egg salad sandwich for your review. Enjoying another one would be even better. read more

Blue's Egg takes their craft seriously which is deeply appreciated! They are all in for creating a breakfast that is both a feast for the eye and the pallet. Their hash browns come in a variety of fashions are super crispy on the outside and delicately tender inside- no small challenge considering they are almost 2 inches think! The bacon is also thick and crispy which makes it feel like a real treat. They also create interesting breakfasts, mixing flavors and textures wonderfully. The bloody Mary's are spicy and loaded with fixings too! Even though there is a ton of seating in the back, they can be really busy so you can anticipate a wait of 30 minutes or so, which has always been my experience. They do have a small diner type bar but it is almost always full. One down side is there is little room to wait for a table comfortably if the weather is not nice. read more
