What a cute restaurant & bakery. They have a ton of seating inside & some outside too! The staff were all so friendly and welcoming. I came here for my birthday with a large group and there was plenty of space. We ordered monkey bread for the table which was delicious! Then i ordered a honey vanilla latte and mimosa- both were great! For my main course I got the hoppel poppel which was delicious and savory, a perfect balance to my latte and mimosa. I would definitely come back!

Love this place. Food was sooo good, came quick, and the service was so friendly. Laughed with the servers, as we waited and the prices were quite fair, large place and bar seating as well.

My family and I came here for brunch and had a wonderful meal! My grandpa is one picky guy, but he had only great things to say! Everything was quite tasty and we hope to come back to try more in the future.

    French toast was tasty!

I'd say this is a solid brunch spot. Some dishes hit the spot better than others. The stuffed hash browns are usually a hit but the goat cheese browns were icky. Something was off with the flavors. Neither me nor my husband enjoyed this plate but everything else was good. Service was attentive and accommodating. I recommended making a reservation especially if you plan to go with a group. Also they won't seat you until your entire party is present. Parking lot is big and free. There is a surcharge if you pay with a credit card.

Did you know that Blue's Egg serves a fish fry on Fridays during Lent? Until last week I didn't know that either. Their website has a popup on the home page saying it comes with fried haddock, potato pancakes, applesauce, and rye bread, but the popup doesn't list the price and it isn't available through the online ordering function. I ended up calling in an order to go, substituting wheat bread for the rye, and also added a piece of lemon ginger coffee cake. The lemon ginger coffee cake tasted fine, but man was it dry. Like Sahara Desert dry. Maybe this was an anomaly and their other baked goods are better, but I'd be hesitant to try them based on this coffee cake. Even though the website says the side is potato pancakes with applesauce, my fish fry came with fries. They ended up being the best part of the meal, which I certainly wasn't expecting. Still, I was disappointed cause I prefer potato pancakes and was given their inclusion as an expectation. The wheat bread itself was ok, but the butter was oddly unsalted. The fish, of which there was three pieces, was battered with a hint of beer, but like the butter for the bread there was no salt to speak of in the batter. As much as I didn't enjoy the unsalted butter for the bread, not having salt in the batter for the fish managed to be more unpleasant. Maybe Blue's Egg should just stick with serving breakfast items instead of adding something temporary that they clearly aren't pros at.

My absolute favorite eggs benedict and hashbrowns of all time! They have such a great selection of breakfast food including incredible stuffed hashbrowns, which you can even sub in for regular hashbrowns. Their monkey bread is an absolute must and you have to include the "crunk it" sauce. As for atmosphere the restaurant is relatively large with a few seats at the bar top.

I had to get a picture after the first bite!!

This was my first visit to Blue's, it's been on my places to try for a couple years. Finally made it and I was not disappointed. I chose the daily browns... aka, loaded hash browns and added a couple eggs. Every flavor worked. The best hash I've ever had. My gripe is too much good stuff to choose.... So I'll be back.

Fantastic as always. It was nice to go on a weekday. No wait. No crowd. Seated right away. Server brought us waters right away and we started with bloodies! They were a little bit light on the garnishes but delicious nonetheless . And the come with a can of Miller Lite for the chaser. I only ordered the stuffed hash browns and special browns of the day were crab and gouda. They came with chili hollandaise, but I substituted regular hollandaise on the side. My husband had the french toast and sausage, and our son (who was kind enough to treat us to this wonderful breakfast) had the hoppel poppel, which is a scrambler of eggs, bacon, sausage, onions, potatoes and spinach covered in a hollandaise sauce, and toast. He also had a side of the stuffed hash browns, stuffed with pulled ham and cheddar. The day started out strong but then it was afternoon nap time.

This was a fantastic brunch!! Started with a perfect spicy Bloody Mary and a delish cucumber prosecco cocktail. Then had the monkey bread with some kind of caramel bourbon sauce that made us want to lick the plate. Our server Sam was super friendly and helpful in deciding what to get from the menu which has amazing options. I had the ham omelette with cheddar hash and the bacon on the side (OMG). My husband had the Benedict's and absolutely devoured them before I could get a picture. Took bourbon chocolate chip cookies home for later. Do not miss this perfect place!!

Service was great, and overall the meal was satisfying. The goat cheese and olive hash browns were very salty and the sauce overpowered the dish. The monkey bread was rich and delicious as always. The Eggs Benedict was decent, but the ham tasted a bit old and not as fresh as expected. It may have just been an off day, as I've had better food here before.

Pretty busy location. The food was fantastic. The service was excellent. Because our reservation went over a few minutes. They provide us with a sweet treat for the wait which I thought it was very nice. Our breakfast was excellent very tasty and fresh. Lots of customers, the music was settled and the atmosphere was perfect. It made me feel right at home. Definitely will come back again.

August 2025: I went to lunch at Blue's Egg on a Tuesday afternoon with my mom and her dog. It was about 12:45PM and we were seated right away outside. My mom has a walker and we had a stroller for the dog and the hostess was very accommodating- she offered a larger table for us to sit at so we could fit comfortably. Our waitress was very friendly and fast. My mom and I shared the Bowl of Rejuvenation (sauce on the side) and the Turkey Clubhouse with fries. We loved both of the dishes!! The bowl had fresh and healthy veggies, great textures, and we both felt the sauce wasn't necessary. The sauce had a great tomato flavor but we enjoyed the vegetables and farro as they were. The sandwich was also delicious! The bread was toasted and fresh and the house-roasted turkey was great and went perfect with the sun-dried tomato and cranberry spread. At the end of our meal, we ordered a slice of silk pie to go and enjoyed that as well! Overall, our lunch was a 10/10 and we can't wait to go back!

Brunch It Up (possibly in the middle of rebranding to just "Brunch.") is a classic breakfast spot in downtown Milwaukee...we were there on a Sunday morning...high brunch time, and were seated quickly upstairs. The place had an overall run-down vibe to it...scuffed paint on the walls and a general feeling of not quite matching the quality of the upscale brunch spot implied by their modern logo. Menus...I normally don't comment on the menu itself but our table featured no less than 4 different menus...the regular menu, a drink menu, a specials menu and a mimosas menu...choices are wonderful, but the immediate reaction is this is a whole mess of menus on the table, and I don't know what to look at first. It felt haphazard. Let's move on to the coffee...Coffee is an essential part of the brunch experience. Even at a diner, you want it to be strong...the mug it came in was nice, but it was weak coffee. I need coffee to kick my butt, and if you're serving what's close to "browned water" at a breakfast place, you're missing the mark. How about the food? I can't fault them for the generosity of the portions, but will say individual dishes were way too much for my wife and I...we wish smaller portions were available, so so much didn't go to waste. My wife had the Egg and Waffle sandwich with waffle fries. It was fine. I had the Harvest Hash made with egg whites...the eggs were a little overcooked. (Egg whites require a thoughtful touch when cooking them so they are finished white and not browning all over.) There are plenty of fresh tomatoes, mushrooms, and peppers in there (I guess that's the extent of the harvest in Milwaukee) The hashbrowns it all sat on were undercooked. We were excited about the croissant beignets...Available were the regular ones with chocolate or strawberry dipping sauce, and a special with a fruit dipping sauce. They couldn't mix and match sauces, so we got the special. They were okay but a bit over-fried, losing the croissant texture altogether ...I mean, there's nothing wrong with deep-fried dough with sweet things to dip them in, but we do wish they hadn't fried the croissant out of them to give us the unique experience implied by the name. The menu has plenty to choose from...every breakfast savory or sweet thing you could imagine...and on the nicely designed, modern-looking menu at looks like it could be amazing...but everything we got, plus the experience of sitting in a place that felt a little rundown, left us overall disappointed.
