After leaving our boat untouched for six months, I ran into battery issues the day we needed it for a gathering with friends. I hit a wall troubleshooting online and took a chance calling Michael on a Sunday. Not only did he invite me to come by, but he already had the cables I needed waiting when I arrived. Rather than simply ringing up the sale, he walked me through the fix, explained the risks, and made sure I knew what to watch out for. When I discovered the damage was worse than expected -- acid corrosion on additional cables -- Michael had already left for the day, but still called into the shop so his colleagues could get me what I needed. He also answered my text messages asking him more questions. Thanks to him, we had a wonderful cruise with our friends that afternoon. Jeff worked with each of the family members and taught them how to: raise/lower sails, steer, tack and jibe. Also, docking a 40-foot boat can be a challenge, especially when the wind picks up. Jeff showed us various techniques to make this an easy task. Jeff has also help me become a better racer. He has deep knowledge of sail trim and can truly get the last bit of speed out of the boat! John was our skipper who provided us sailboat training 101 as well as kept us entertained. He was a fantastic story teller. John is living the dream after graduate school and working in the corporate world, he decided to retire early and do what he loves, sailing. So inspiring and I hope I get to do the same, retire early, travel the world and learn culture through food. Each of us rotated navigating the sail and driving the sailboat. I must say coordination is definitely essential and good listening skills is a must as each of us got the opportunity to work as a team. After sailing, Spinnaker provided us with a wonderful bbq treat over at their conference center. It was delicious. I had the opportunity to get to know our team up close and personal, caught up with what they enjoy doing outside of work environment (tech), and it was a great way to share each other's passions. I highly recommend coming to Spinnaker for a company retreat, or simply take advantage of a family and friends get together. They provide lessons, group discounts including one on one, boat included, and you even get to sit next to their awesome skippers who will assist you to navigate the San Francisco Bay waters. We all had a fantastic time, and we can't thank John, our skipper for his excellent service and to all Spinnaker staff who was responsible for a memorable time. Cheers!

Had a great time deep sea fishing on the 7 hour adventure leaving from Santa Cruz on Stagnaro's…read more Came with the scout troop and the staff helped for any snags, and the captain kept putting us on the fish. We all caught our limit, and really enjoyed the day. The staff also were able to clean and fillet our fish on the way back to shore to make it easier on us. Will definitely do it again.

This was an incredible whale-watching experience. First, from the moment Abby (our marine wildlife…read moreexpert) gave us an informative introduction before boarding the Velocity to the end of the trip, the crew of the boat were knowledgeable and clearly happy in what they're doing. We saw three humpback whales, communicating with each other through pec flapping. We saw multiple tail flaps and tail throws, as well. The captain's alerts and instructions on where to look were consistently helpful. He also took us closer to shore to see two great white sharks, one of whom swam alongside the boat for a good 10-15 minutes. It was such a beautiful day on the water, I lost track of time! Other highlights were 100s of porpoising sea lions and multiple sightings of pelicans, terns, gulls, and other birds. Abby was happy to answer questions the whole time. There's something so sublime about seeing wildlife at sea. I've been on multiple whale-watching trips along the West Coast over the years, and this was my favorite, so far.
