I had a bridal appointment scheduled at Madeleine's Daughter for 2pm on January 10, 2026. Earlier that day, I found my dress at another appointment. Out of courtesy, I called Madeleine's approximately two hours before my appointment to ask if it could be modified to look at Mother of the Bride or bridesmaids' dresses. They said no due to scheduling constraints. I then confirmed I would still attend my 2pm appointment--I wanted to look at reception dresses and continue shopping with my bridesmaids and mother. Instead of accepting this, the staff told me they were cancelling my appointment because I had said "yes" to a dress elsewhere. I was immediately charged the $165 cancellation fee. I did not cancel this appointment. I explicitly stated I would attend. They made the decision to cancel on me, then charged me as if I had cancelled on them. I emailed that same day requesting a refund, explaining that their cancellation policy should not apply when the boutique cancels on a willing customer. Their response was patronizing--they assumed continuing to shop would cause me "financial confusion" and offered store credit toward a veil instead of a refund. This "solution" requires me to spend additional money while they keep my $165. I have continued to request a refund with no response. Bottom line: They cancelled my appointment, not me, yet they kept my money. This is unfair business practice. My mother bought her wedding dress here, and I bought my prom dress here years ago. I'm deeply disappointed that this is how they treat loyal customers.

The seamstress had added pea-sized buttons on my derrière, where buttons did not previously exist. Jacqueline was not only quick to respond, but was able to fix my problem in less than 15 minutes. This, I see, as a victory, because the seamstress who I went to in the first place had looked me dead in the eye when I told her I didn't like the outcome of my dress, and asked her to remove the buttons, and said "I can't do that. It's sewn on." Jacqueline was not only pleasant to chat with as she quickly brought me back from wedding nightmare dreamscape, but she walked me through exactly what she was doing. Her space was cozy and clean. Her attitude was very welcoming and funny. She is clearly an expert in the space. She was easy to schedule with, communicate with and incredibly professional. She left no question unanswered. During my final dress fitting, she worked on my dress with it on my body for almost 2 hours until she got the final look and fit we both wanted. She worked very meticulously on every small detail of my dress that needed attention and in my opinion went above and beyond to ensure my needs were met and exceeded. I will also add- coming from someone who isn't the most comfortable or confident in these types of social situations, Jackie had my mind at ease and got me so excited for my big day. That person said "WE ARE CLOSED" I used caps because she was quite indignant with a snotty attitude. I said through the glass door "Oh you just startled me, I was not expecting anyone to be in there." "Your shop is beautiful." To which she replies "doing paperwork, we are closed." NO Kidding. There were no lights on, and the closed sign told me so. I can tell you, though, with that attitude, I would never recommend anyone come into your store. I've heard other people give me negative reviews also, but decided to make my own decision. Lousy attitude produces lousy business.

My bridal consultation was a lot of fun and I didn't feel pressured to buy anything. So many beautiful prom dresses too-- made me wish I was a senior in high school again!
