i love this office. they're very nice. very accommodating. their selection is really good. high end to affordable, but the style choices are good. i drive from Irvine. i know it's not far.. but it's definitely not close *traffic. they have an in house gentleman that makes lens . replaces lens, and makes sure every pair of eye glass you purchase fits your face. he literally molds the glasses around your ears. love this service! and their dr is very sweet. she really listens. ive been wearing glasses for 20 years, always jumping offices searching for the right office, that includes knowledgeable dr, ability, service, selection.. finally found it. and ive been coming here for 5. read more

Came here again to fix my glasses prescription. They got it wrong again. To explain what happened with my old glasses. I found out why the prescription was so weak. They kept one side the same and increased one side by .25...... Btw my glasses prescription was 2 years old. So basically I had paid them $120 to do nothing. They rechecked my eyes and they were off by 1.25. They made some bs excuse about they didn't want my eyes to get too strained.... Believable if they weren't off by 1.25!!! Also my contacts were much sharper so not to I sure what they were talking about. Anyways this time around everyone was super super friendly talking to be slowly like I was a feral animal. Okay that was an exageration. But maybe they read my review. I'm not too sure. I annoyed the Viet guy optometrist by asking a lot of questions to make sure everything would be correct time. I could see his smile starting to strain. But please just do your job competently that's all I ask. Afterwards a lady gave me back my contacts to put back on after the exam. Only to find out she gave me someone else's contacts, which I noticed after I put in my eyes. LOOOL. But I wasn't even surprised that happened. I got my glasses mailed to me so I wouldn't have to drive there. I had a little bit of fear that my prescription would be of off but I doubted it. Mot again, right?! But surely enough when I first wore my glasses something was wrong. I couldn't tell what was exactly wrong, but after closing one eye at a time I noticed my left eye is noticibly more blurry than my right eye. Maybe off by .25-.5? At this point not too sure what to do but sigh... Not even angry. Just resignatied that this is my fate at this optometrist. You win boan you win. read more

Pro: a big selection of glasses to choose from. Work is completed fairly quickly if you don't arrive during peak hours . Cons : glasses can be extremely overpriced. They will work you to maximize their claim with your insurance carrier. Will post my itemized insurance bill once received to reflect how much they benefited above the already inflated cost of the frames. Tip: to minimize your out of pocket expense. Go there get your exam and pick out your glasses. Google the frame you picked for a price lower than or closer to your frame allotment through your insurance. Example: Rayban prices were doubled here but if you purchase it online it is half their retail price and falls under your insurance limit. Most insurance carriers like vsp have a reimbursement claim form if you buy the frame outside of the vsp provider network. You now got frames that they sell for 180 dollars for free instead of the store charging you the excess difference from your frame coverage and the inflated retail price. read more

It's unfortunate to be writing this review. I have been a customer of this Optometry for more than 10 years and have always received a good customer service. Today, this opinion changed and our client/venue partnership severed. The owner of this location was outright rude. Please do yourself a favor, there are many other optometrists around. Do not limit yourself to this place. Their customer service led by the owner (an elder lady), you will not be impressed. She is only for turning and burning her sales without any intentions to provide true lifelong customer service. It's quite sad. I wish the staff members all the best. read more

Need your eyes checked out and don't have insurance? This is the place to be! An exam is about 40 bucks, I believe, if you buy contacts (which is another 15-25 depending on the brand and prescription). Service is pretty friendly, not the best but definitely not the worst either. You'll get your money's worth :) read more

I've been coming here for the past 13 years for all my eye exams, contact lenses, and glasses. It's a Korean optometry so you are allowed, perhaps even expected, to negotiate the price of your glasses/contact lenses. I'm usually a no-fuss customer since I've been coming here for so long, but my recent eyeglass purchase (Ray-Ban) had a defect for some odd reason. Since I only had my glasses for less than 90 days, I thought it was perfectly fair for me to bring it back and tell them about my flawed frames. I was all ready to argue for some sort of warranty claim, but the owner just popped my lenses in a new frame and I was good to go. No questions and no fuss. It's service like this that keeps me coming back. Oh, the optometrist on staff is very nice and thorough. read more

Came in as a walk in today. It seemed busy but I only needed to wait 10 minutes max before seeing the optometrist. The optometrist was through and answered all questions. The guy that helped me out was very nice and professional. This place has lots of korean staff and clients, and unlike most Korean places that treat you like second class if you're not Korean, I was treated equally and received the same respect, assistance, and attention as Korean clients. They had a lot of great frames to choose from. They had a section of frams imported from Korea that were affordable. A big plus is that these frames cater to Asian nose bridges, which I was grateful for. They also had name brands but I wasn't too interested since I wanted something affordable. Definitely would recommend this place to all my friends and family. Give them a shot if you're looking to get an eye exam and a cute/stylish pair of glasses. read more

Has been visiting few stores today, but this is by far has most choices and style fits Asian perfectly. Price is extremely reasonable and people are truly honest and friendly here. And this is my first time ever being able to pick up my glasses in about 30 mins (from the moment I enter the store to I walk out with my new glasses). My family has been going to Bo An optometry for the past 3 years and have gotten at least 7 pairs of glasses during that time. Today, I dropped by the place to get a bridge replacement for a pair of glasses I purchased from them 2-3 years ago. The female optician there told me that they do not do after-sales service for purchases made more than a year. She did not even ask the technician who was working there whether the bridge was fixable at a fee. I've also been going to the Family Optometry in Irvine for the past 15 years and they have life-time after-sales service for frames they sell. Today, Bo An lost a family of customers. read more

I found this place when i was looking for a place through my insurance. It was a saturfay and they were the only ones where i can just walk in. I went with my brother and i was worried since it was my first experience. I walked in, katie welcomed us and helped us to find my insurance benefits and help us fill out the application. She took her time in helping us find the right and suitable frame for us. She was very nice and helpful, and the fact that she is not being nice or helping us just to sell us, she was just beng friendly. Our prescriptions were done in one hour, and i went back where i asked for a favor, they claned my old glasses and tightened it for free, and they did the same thing for my brother too. I have been to this optometry several months ago, but I forgot to Yelp them. I like this optometry. Staff are nice, and professional. Less paperwork. Doctor Nguyen is a good doctor. He gave me a better prescription than my former optometrist. Since I have astigmatism on my left eye, it's more difficult to give an accurate prescription, I guess. However, he did a great job and I am very satisfied with my prescription. Everything is fast and convenient. They have many selections of sunglasses too, even Cartier. I love this office, and highly recommended them to everyone I know. PS: They did not ask me (nor begging me) to Yelp them as my former optometry office did. read more

I heard about this practice from a co-worker who's been going here for years with her family. I finally took the time to go and get an eye exam after about 6 years. Since I'm constantly on a computer at work I thought it was time for a check up. I arrived at around 3:30pm on a Friday as a new patient. I was greeted right away and asked if I'd been there before or if it was my first time. He also asked if I was a walk in which I was and informed me that there were 3 people ahead of me with appointments. I said it was fine and that I would wait. He had me fill out a sheet with my info and after that the wait began. It took a little over an hour for me to be seen. They actually let me go ahead of a lady who had an appointment which was nice. The exam took only about 25 minutes, I paid and was out of there by 5:00pm. It was only $40 for the exam! Most places cost about $65! I didn't purchase any glasses but they had a large selection to choose from. They also can replace lenses both prescription and for sunglasses for under $50 I believe (give them a call to confirm the price). Overall I had a great experience and will come back again. I've already referred this place to other coworkers and family. I love that the staff is very friendly and they all speak English so there's no language barrier. This place is very clean, professional, and organized. read more

This place is great! Extremely helpful, the place is Korean but if you're not, don't fear! The people that work there speak perfect, accent free English! I went there to find a pair of glasses and tried on literally 30 or do pairs. Guy named Ben helped us was really helpful and didn't try to hurry us up and I didn't even buy a pair on my initial visit! I eventually went back and ended up getting totally different frames though haha My family got 4 pairs of glasses from them with frames total, and 2 eyes exams. I had a hard time adjusting to my new prescription and thought it was causing my nausea. I called in and Ben told me to come in and they'll check my lens to make sure that it has the correct prescription. They checked my lens, my eyes again and made sure everything matched. Turns out that the antibiotic I was taking was causing the nausea, not my lenses. Oops. Anyways, great service and really good prices. Highly recommend. read more

I recently got new glasses here which was actually a really long process since I'm extremely particular and because my prescription is so high, it's hard to find suitable frames. Ben was incredibly patient and helpful. He was knowledgable and able to tell me which frames would work with my prescription and which ones wouldn't. He was also very honest in telling me which went well with my face shape. No one at Bo An tried to sell me on anything that I didn't need. I couldn't be happier with the service that I received here. I think this business is totally competitive to others. My last visit on July 2013 was very friendly and satisfied. However, the recent visit was a completely different experience due to their INCOMPETENT SALESMAN who wears glasses and worked on Monday dayshift (7/31/2017). It was a horrible customer service. That said, I would like to have new lenses for my old rimless glasses. So, I asked him if it is possible to avoid signs of broken holes used for screws when the technician tries to put the new lenses in. My degrees are not high, so lenses are kind of thin which easily gets cracked when drilled for holes. This guy is really RUDE, and he stops me all the time by saying "Don't worry" to me. He gives me all off topic explanations. That is fine. I don't mind and still paid for the lenses. The second horrible customer service is to fully prove that this salesman is really RUDE. As I said, his way of explaining is try to stop customers. So, he didn't listen to me. That said, I told him I don't have back up glasses, so I would like to leave my glasses at their place during weekend so that they can order in advance the lenses, and I can come back later to get them cut and finished. Because he stops me all the time, so he forgot what I mentioned. He figured it out when I refused to leave my glasses at their place for ordering and fishing after I already PAID and all the papers have been filled out. So, I request my money back and I will never visit this place again. read more

Around 2:30 PM on December 12 (Thursday), I walked in and asked a guy with glasses, a white shirt, and brown trousers for help. He was rude throughout the whole exchange and turned backed to his computer on the standing desk after doing the bare minimum. I must have looked really offended because a female worker came and helped me in an efficient and friendly manner. Honestly, if he doesn't want to aid anyone out he shouldn't be facing the entrance!!! He looked younger than the other male worker working at that time. read more
