Waited for hours - food never came and order was eventually cancelled by grub hub - horrible

So I have passed this place on numerous occasions when I am in Charles Village, but never stopped in until today. Decided to grab some quick take out for lunch. Kept it simple, grabbed one of their specialty burgers, the Saint Paul Burger( applewood smoked bacon, swiss, caramelized onions, Chipotle Mayo and old bay fries in the burger). The burger was decent, I just wish the patty itself had more flavor, but overall, the burger served its purpose for my quick burger fix. Service was friendly and efficient. I do recommend calling ahead to order your food, they do take their time making the food. I would definitely return when I'm craving a burger in my neighborhood. read more

I just had dinner with a dear friend and we had spent the afternoon partying and talking, and we started talking food. I was feeling a burger and he was easy and he suggested a chain place near Belvedere Square. I said, "Nah; we're going to Bo Z's" and off we went. My love affair with this place began during the pandemic it became a delivery favorite, and it's never disappointed. Tonight was somehow better than ever before. Maybe it was the company, maybe it was because we literally got our food immediately after it was cooked, but I honestly just think the people working here take pride in what they do and like to see people enjoying it, and enjoy it we did. The onion rings are always extra crispy and crunchy and the perfect accompaniment to my burger which was beef perfection! I did the Build-A-Burger approach per usual and it rocked. My friend just kept hmming and he couldn't believe he hadn't been there before. I said "I told you so" and couldn't stop complimenting his burger. Bo Z's is a treasure that's underappreciated, and that needs to change. Amazing food, an incredible and friendly staff and there's no reason we should have been the only people there. Now, a few things that bear attention: You offer the dine-in option and consequently you should have condiments and salt and pepper readily available. Small thing, but still impactful. Also, be mindful of customers drinking ice water provided by you because they might need more. I've cited these minor, minor issues because they kept my experience from being perfect, but you still get props for knocking the food game out of the park. As we left the three staff members present were all interested in the caliber of our experience and I told them it was amazing because it was. Maybe 4 stars based on the fact that i was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the burger and the price. Show me a place in Baltimore or the DMV for that matter that sells a double patty for under $10, not a lot i can guarantee that. I ordered the spicy burger i believe, you can also make your own. The meat was good and not your run of the mill frozen patty to be honest. Solid burger IMO, and i am embarrassed to say i have passed by this spot fro years since it replaced i believe Nonna's but never bothered. Far out of my local (food) comfort zone: On the far corner of various eateries, Eddie's Market and other stores on St. Paul Street neat Hopkins Homewood campus, Bo Z's occupies what once was one of several local Donna's rustic chains that once dotted the city and Baltimore County. However, whereas Donna's (whose eponymous owner now has a fine restaurant, Cosima, In Hampden's Mill No. 2) was known for bread, soup and cold rustic potatoes--Bo Z's is all about burgers and salads. And that it does well, if not with much atmosphere. My first time here, I got the bare bones Parmesan Caesar mayo double patty burger on a bun. I added a tomato and would have gotten a couple more toppings if I'd known. But, no matter, the meat tasted like a higher grade Wendy's patty (that's not a bad thing)--the Caesar mayo and tasty bun elevating the sandwich. Also got the misnamed Chicken P Salad, which I thought had chicken but actually had chickpeas (aka garbanzo beans) falafel balls and other good stuff. Fine/find by me! Unfortunately, I felt afraid to ask too many questions from the almost surly server who, nevertheless, managed my order and brought it to me outside. Lighten up! I went here with a friend because it was conveniently close to where we lived, and we both had huge cravings for burgers. However, Bo Z's was alarmingly unsanitary. The man who prepared our food did not wear gloves or wash his hands while fixing our burgers. Additionally, the furniture was thrown everywhere and there were so much dirt and random garbage on the ground. Lastly, the tables were sticky, and I instantly lost my appetite. When our food arrived, I managed to take a bite. I got the St. Paul Burger because I was intrigued by the idea of putting fries seasoned with Old Bay into my burger. The fries went well with the burger, but the beef patties themselves needed more flavor. Conclusion: filthy location. The Health Department needs to be aware of this restaurant. read more

I dined here on a weekday afternoon with a group of friends and they had plenty of seating for the whole group. The staff were all very friendly. I ordered the onion rings as a snack, along with chipotle aioli and BBQ sauce on the side. Note: if you're a student they offer a discount if you show your student ID! Aside from being an abhorrent eyesore in lieu of what used to be a lovely Donna's, the food here is generic and quick. It's probably a better burger spot than McDonald's, but that's setting the bar low. And in my case, i just wanted a Caprese panini. It took quite a while, as paninis do, but we were handed our carry out bag and headed home. After eating some fries (perfectly reasonable but not special), we opened our sandwiches. Pics below! I'm not sure what that's supposed to be, but a caprese shouldn't have onions on it, and it definitely shouldn't have any sort of tomato paste. I'm pretty sure the sauce had meat in it, too, but being a vegetarian, i really didn't want to find out. We called to complain, but were told that the sandwich was made properly, but even two employees couldn't agree on how the sandwich should be made. In any case, look at the picture. Ordered delivery from here and it definitely satisfies a craving for burgers! We got the Saint Paul burger and the Chicago burger, with a large side of onion rings and a chocolate shake. The burgers as a whole were both good with all the toppings, but the beef patties themselves were large, underwhelming, and needed more flavor. The Chicago burger also came with a relish that was dyed bright green --like seriously neon green almost --so that weirded me out. The onion rings had a crumb-type breading which I wasn't expecting, but they were good and still somewhat crispy even after the delivery trip. Never been inside, so I'm speaking for the food. One burger in particular--the St. Paul's burger. I would lay my life down for it (maybe I already am...atherosclerosis? Haha okok science jokes. Bo Z's Burgers is now the newest eatery in Charles Village. It takes over the old spot of Freshii, which went out of business 10 months ago. Interior and the set-ups are exactly the same as the ones Freshii had (everything is the annoying light green), except they now have a fryer and a grill for the burgers and fries. Nothing impressive, prices a bit steep for the food quality. $5.49 for a regular burger, and $3.29 for a small order of fries. Tries hard to be Five Guys but simply not as good. I think my first mistake was not getting a burger. I had gotten burgers the night before and didn't want to order another, so I opted for a hot sandwich. The sandwich was supposed to be turkey brie with fuji apples and honey mustard on a ciabatta. When I received my sandwich, it looked like a breakfast sandwich. Yellow was oozing out, which looked like american cheese but was actually all honey mustard. The turkey looked more like thin slices of ham, and the apples were not freshly sliced. The were the cinnamon apples that come out of a can. I'm not sure how they came up with this sandwich, but it was definitely not what I was imagining when I ordered it. I would not recommend ordering this sandwich. Everyone else was happily eating their burger, and for the most part everyone enjoyed their orders. My friend who ordered a St Paul Burger (bacon, swiss, caramelized onions, Old Bay fries, chipotle aioli) said that his burger was pretty good. I live "over East" (Baltimore) and we don't have a lot of options via Uber Eats. My go to location canceled my order five minutes in and I needed a fast substitution. Craving a burger was an understatement. And I'm light weight fat so I ordered a couple of other things too. I went with the St. Paul Burger because I need bacon in my life and I have a childhood issue with putting fries on my burgers. I rarely see a restaurant who puts old bay fries on the burger for me. Clearly this Boz guy is after my heart! I also ordered a spicy chicken cheese steak and onion rings (told y'all I was fat). The burger and chicken cheesesteak were perfect. The restaurant paid attention to my asks of not including lettuce and tomatoes. As a regular Uber Eats customer, this week, that's a good thing! I was also impressed that the burger and sandwich made it to me without being soggy. That's a hard feat. I know because Uber Eats crowned me the Queen of spending all my money with them this week. Onions rings were crisp and not thin, easily the best delivery onion rings I've had. Last, they packaged my food well and included lots of napkins, condiments, and utensils without me making a special note. And they stapled the top of the bag. I came here with a friend last week to grab a burger. I was REALLY craving a burger. However, Boz's Burgers Bistro has to be the most disgusting place ever. When I stepped in the door, I ordered a 3 cheese fondue burger from a really nice young lady (the only decent person) and the price was outrageous. I gave them the benefit of the doubt and decided to try the burger before I complained about the price. As I made my way to the booths near the back of the restaurant, I noticed how dirty the place was. Furniture was thrown everywhere and there was so much dirt, random garbage, and old food on the ground. Ew. Now, I sat in the booth next to a set of stairs to the basement. I saw a cook go down the stairs and when he came up, he tripped and dropped a bag of lettuce on the floor. As he exited the stairwell, he proceeded to kick the bag of lettuce. Ew. DISGUSTING. I hope that didn't make it to the food but I have a feeling it did because the place was so cheap and filty. That was the final straw. My friend and I asked for our burgers to go from the nice lady and we left. I tried the burger and the bun was completely burnt. The burger meat wasn't terrible but it was very greasy. Would I return? HELL NO. Conclusion: A FILTHY place with overpriced, burnt burgers. Sad thing is that the place had a few UBEReats orders and I wish those people would go in the restaurant before they ordered. DISGUSTING. The Health Department should shut this place down... These guys truly suck. Went in to order a large fry. Someone before me made a huge order and left. I was waiting for my fries and they packed them up for the order before me. I said, "can't I just get my fries since that's all I ordered?" They said , "no this is for the order before you." I said, "well she just left and you're still putting together her order." They told me to wait 10 minutes. I don't think so. Got my money back and left. Not to mention the chef is in there wearing shorts and flip flops. Not too hygienic. OMG ... Caesar Burger, Nutella and peanut butter milkshake! Heaven! Burger was done perfectly ... cooked thoroughly and still-running-down-the-side-of-your-mouth juicy. Romaine had a perfect crunch and just the right tangyness in the dressing. Plus I love the choice of brioch-y bread with the burger! Spunky environment, staff with a sense of humor. I'm in! It's a really good burger joint. It sort of reminds me of one of those burger places that came from the 1950s in a way. I had the veggie burger, an order of fries, and a peanut butter milkshake. The milkshake was pretty good, and it actually tasted like they used legitimate peanut butter ice cream in it. The fries are actually quite unique. This is the first time that I have had fries that were pretty creamy in the middle, but I thought it worked. They could have eased up a little on the salt, though. The best things about this place was the burger. Most veggie burgers completely suck, but this one was phenomenal. It was like a combination between a samosa, seitan, and some other Indian dish. The spices on it were spot on. The service is great, also. Every time I come in, the cashier greets me with a huge smile on their face. What makes this better is that there really aren't any other burger spots in the Charles Village area. My Dad and I visited this restaurant to get a quick bite while visiting Baltimore, and I have to say that my experience here was highly unsatisfactory and unsanitary. First off, the wait was extremely long to get our food - about 20 minutes for a McDonald's quality burger. Secondly, the man preparing our food was not wearing gloves, nor did he wash his hands before fixing our burgers. In fact, I watched him throw something away (therefore touching the trash can) and touch several condiment containers before going right back to the kitchen and touching our food with his bare hands. Our fries were very burnt and unseasoned, and, as I mentioned before, our burgers were not the best quality and also pretty flavorless. I placed an order for three salads from Boz's through UberEats. While the delivery time was great, none of the salads came as described. Two of the salads were to have avocado on them, there were about 3 small cubes of avocado. The pineapple in one salad was clearly canned and not fresh, grapes were subbed for grape tomatoes, the salad advertised to have dates came with one, and the same salad which was to have hard boiled egg had only half and egg. I was very disappointed with the entire purchase. And to make matters worse, the phone number listed online does not work so I could not call to attempt to have my order corrected. I saw that this opened in the space where Freshii used to be located in Charles Village, while I never managed to check out any Baltimore area Freshii location before all of them abruptly closed without any sort of prior notice, I did manage to check out this new food venue. I ordered a bacon cheeseburger with fries seasoned with Old Bay. The bacon cheeseburger was pretty tasty and the Old Bay fries were delicious. Never go here. We placed a to- go order today from work. Half of the order was missing. I called and asked them for a refund or for them to bring me my food (abt a 10 min walk) as I could not leave my job a second time. They could do neither of these things. I could come back to the store and either get a refund or my food. But, I had to return to the store. The person working there could not give me the last name of the manager nor could he spell the managers first name. It took 4 tried to even get someone to answer the phone. read more

The Milkshakes are for sure the best thing about this place. They taste super nostalgic, not watery at all. I just wish they had more flavors and maybe a large size, lol. The burgers are good, a classic burger, nothing crazy. A burger you would expect. I think they would be better if they were cooked a little less time, so that they would be juicier. They also need more condiments on the burger,imo, if theyre not going to cook a juicy burger. (They also never give me ketchup when I order through grubhub, even though I do request it just fyi if youre a ketchup fan. ) I love the fries, theyre sort of like five guys fries but maybe more potatoe-y.
