I might shake the table when I say this, but Southside might have the best burgers in Baltimore...... Cross Street is one of my favorite markets in the city (probably behind Lexington), and I randomly stopped at Southside not really knowing what food I had a taste for. I ordered a double cheeseburger (customized my way), and fries, and my total was about $15. I think that's fairly average these days, on top... it was actually good. Like there was a ACTUAL cheese pull when you bit into the burger. It was HOT and fresh when I took the wrapper off my burger; just overall, gave an actual grill taste. As other reviews stated, the business provides plastic, paper, and overall disposable utensils and plates and when I'm back at Cross Street, I know exactly where I'm going to get a burger, a beer - and probably some onion rings now, now that I know they're a fan favorite! read more

Place has so much potential, however the meat quality is horrendous. If they get better meat this can be a 5 star burger.

I never go into cross street market anymore, but I was at an event nearby so we stopped for a light snack. My friend's mom wanted some chicken wings so we ordered wings and got a very simple cheeseburger with onion rings, and they had happy hours so we got $3.50 Natty Boh and Miller lites. This is one of the biggest food markets in the city outside of Lexington market - I was glad to see it was so busy on a Friday evening. They have ample seating and restrooms and the staff at Southside Burger were really friendly. The wings were fine, but I really loved the onion rings and the simple cheeseburger. Everything is plastic and paper plates all disposable because it's a food hall so it's a very casual, as you go environment I was surprised to see so many families. Please avoid supporting larger chains and support local this year, I would definitely come back for a burger and onion rings! It's hard to find good onion rings! Tuesday afternoon, I just needed a burger. This was the first to come up on yelp and I was around Federal Hill so went in for a take out before heading back to DC. Ordered an Original-2 patties LTP, Swiss cheese. Side of fries and a Root beer. Sat in my car, opened up the container and it was wrapped nicely nestled in with the peanut oil fried fries. Had a fry or two. Nice and crisp on the outside. Perfectly cooked. Unwrapped the burger. And it looked solid. Condiments weren't over-bearing and fresh. Took a bite and it was cooked perfectly just on the cusp of MR/M. Juicy, seasoned right (seemed like just salt-perfect). The entire burger stayed together with every bite. The cheese was melted just right. Finished the whole burger without touching another fry and sat for a minute. Damn that was good. I had to call back the restaurant and let them know. Told the young lady "That was the best burger I've had in 10 years. Please thank the cooks!" Seriously. So pleasantly surprised. So blown away. I'll be back each time i return to Baltimore. All I could think about was if Tarantino tried this burger before writing Pulp Fiction, he would not have had to invent the Big Kahuna Burger! Yelp Fam! Back with another review of a dope spot in cross st market. Let me start with this 32oz beer (Miller, Sam Adams, Key Brewing & Natty Boh) for 8$. That is one of my fav deals of all time. I haven't had the food yet but the burgers look amazing. They also just added wings! Burgers, hotdogs, wings, I will follow up when I try the food. This spot is one of my fav places to grab a beer. Absolute TRASH!!! Lemme start from the beginning the girl who took our order STEPHANIE I asked her for a black bean veggie burger and she was super sweet. My boyfriend ordered wings. We get our good I take a bite and look at my boyfriend and say I don't think this is a black bean burger. He goes and confronts Stephanie who says yeah it isn't one. I've been a VEGETARIAN for the past 10+ years never eating real meat Aka she's lucky I'm not in the hospital. I confront Stephanie and she just replies saying I hate my job and don't care if I served you the wrong order. No apology and proceeds to say to me do you wanna fight cause I don't give a shit that I messed up your order. This is the absolute worst customer service ever. Do yourself a favor and fire Stephanie she obviously hates her job lol and Vegetarian be aware!!!!!!! Please be very careful with what you eat if you have any dietary restrictions. read more

This is one of my favorite places in the neighborhood. Firstly the staff is wonderful and the food comes out very fast. The burger is exactly what I want and think of when thinking about a classic burger. Super tasty and well seasoned. Also, not usually crazy about onion rings but these are perfectly crunchy and well cooked. The sauce that comes with them is also so good. This is EXACTLY the burger I crave when I think of a smash burger with the best, soft bun and the classic toppings (with both free & up-charge options to add or subtract as you please!). I had an original (2 patties) with several toppings and honestly, I didn't even need the fries (but I regret nothing, I'm glad I got them, they're delicious). The pricing is fair, the food is comforting and well seasoned. This was the perfect fast casual meal for carry-out (which we did, bc Covid!) to have safely at home with a cider, beer, or cold non-alcoholic beverage of your choosing.
