I honestly just love all swamis locations and this one is no different. Great ambiance, food, and service. Really easy to get seated right away too. Also the parking lot here is probably one of the easiest to find parking at compared to any of their other north county locations. I grew up always ordering açaí bowls here but I love almost every breakfast item on their menu. My go-tos now are usually their authentic Mexican breakfast burrito, garlic chicken omelet, and eggs Benedict. Also their gluten free pancakes and French toast are delicious too! During my most recent visit I did have the authentic Mexican breakfast burrito with extra salsa. You always need more. My burrito was perfection. No notes! My husband had the Denver omelet and thought it was so fresh and delicious. Service was a bit slow (just on the amount of time our food took), but everything else was great and our meal was delicious. Can't ask for more! read more

So good we ate here three times in three days. The organic multigrain pancakes were my fuel for golf, rooftop site inspections, and traveling. Christian was super nice and remembered me on the second morning. Convenient location where I walked to pick up the food from the hotel (springhill suites, the only good hotel option in town). Stopped in mid-morning and it wasn't very crowded, which made for a really pleasant experience. The service was excellent, and both our drinks and food came out in a reasonable amount of time. We ordered the Salmon Benedict, and it honestly exceeded expectations. The salmon was cooked perfectly, and their house-made hollandaise sauce was especially good--much better than I anticipated. The drinks were solid as well and paired nicely with the meal. Overall, a great breakfast/brunch spot. I'd definitely recommend giving this place a try. Great food! The corned beef hash is fantastic. Very meaty. I love a good house made corned beef hash, and this one was excellent. The eggs wet perfectly done, and potatoes were delicious as well. The Swami's in La Mesa doesn't have a bar, so that's a nice addition. Had breakfast at the bar, and Johnathan is a great bartender. Super friendly and funny. Dropped by here for brunch when I was pregnant in my second trimester (August 2024) and limited with food options. I was happy to see omelettes that I could eat. If you're curious, I've been trying to avoid gluten, dairy, and soy. I got the Best of Escondido Omelette with hollandaise on the side. The omelette was huge and hearty. I ended up saving half to eat for later on. I was a tad disappointed about their wraps which only come as whole wheat, and they no longer offer spinach - as there wasn't much of a market/appetite for it. Tip for anyone that decides to take that to go - make sure you have tomatoes on the side! I got mines to go (as I needed to have some sort of snack - gluten or not) and it was super soaked by the time I decided I wanted to eat it later on in the day. Great place for breakfast. I haven't tried the lunch yet. Huge variety of items on the menu, but the menu is a bit confusing. I got the grilled fresh salmon Eggs Benedict which I haven't seen anywhere else. Wow. Not only was it flavorful it was a much bigger portion than I expected. The poached eggs were perfectly medium. The home fries were great, large cubes of potato with some grilled onion and red bell pepper strips. We sat at the bar, which was packed on a Saturday morning. The bartender was stressed, but managing to handle 20 customers at the same time, and doing it very well. The coffee is self serve, which probably makes sense in such a busy place. I came in on a chill Tuesday afternoon. Andrea was my server, and she was great!! I ordered my normal. (Pineapple Pancake and hard scrambled eggs). They were delicious!! Let's talk about clean. I travel with a service dog. So, I can always tell how clean a place is, based on what he sees on the floor and how dirty he is after. The place was packed with happy people and enjoying the food. Portions are huge!!! Each plate can easily be a sharing plate. The new location must be working well. I saw a patio which looked inviting. For coffee lovers, there's a coffee bar and it's self-serve. However, please be respectful and don't linger and block others from trying to get their coffee. Had a problem with the table rocking. Invest in shims to balance the table. It is unnerving to see your table rocking back and forth like you are on a cruise ship. However, kudos to the Hostess/Server and Bus Person for attempting to adjust the table. We eventually moved to another table. The food was good. I got a perfectly medium rare steak. Although, I wish it was thicker. The steak was approximately 3/8" that shrank down to 1/4". Still tasty and probably will try another dish on the Special Menu. More satisfying. Lots of street parking around the restaurant just off the Centre City Parkway going West on Grand Avenue. We are certainly going back to try other delicious food. read more

There are TONS of vegetarian and gluten-free options or opportunities to have substitutions. The most recent time I've been here, I ordered the corned beef Benedict on gluten-free bread and a gluten-free waffle on the side. The waffle was incredibly soft in a good way. The batter was thick and fluffy and easy to cut with a perfect consistency in the bite. The only negative was that the maple syrup was fake (veryyyy sweet and HFCS-ey). My brother liked this, but I'd prefer real maple syrup. There's always prompt table service. I haven't been disappointed yet. My wife's breakfast was ok. The place badly needed a cleaning. My wife sat on the bench seating side with me across from her. There was layers of dust and chunks of dried out old food between the bench back and the seat all the way down the length of the inside seating area, it was gross. They have a self-serve coffee bar with a bunch of different flavored coffees, which is a great idea, but there was coffee spatters, sugar spills, and cream spills all over the place including on the self service stack of "clean" cups, 3 rows up, nasty. Doesn't look like anyone has cleaned this thing all day. They had piles of boxes & storage things stuffed and stacked in the main restaurant area, felt like we were eating in the store room. With the amount of staff just standing around looking at their phones, they could have been cleaning, it badly needs it. This could be a go to restaurant, nice big menu, good food, nice staff, but the cleanliness was bad, bad bad.
