GREATLY disappointed! Made a special night with my teenage daughter to have a girls' night before she leaves for college. We have looked forward to it for weeks! All of my friends and her friends knew about our special night. We walked in and they asked for her ID (because they said she must be 21). I explained that I looked online and it said one had to be above 16 years of age. Then they explained that there are Board and Brush companies all over the US and they all have different rules. (Good to know!) Next, they proceeded to pull up the webpage and showed me where it states on Spokane's Board and Brush page that one needs to be 21 years old. It was embedded in a long paragraph and I explained that it does not stand out in any way and I didn't read every single word on every part of their webpage. I shared they should have some kind of prompt when you check out that states in big bold letters, MUST BE 21 YEARS OLD. The owner then told me I should write the WA State liquor board about it. To which I stated again, there should be a prompt when you check out that you must be 21 years of age. My daughter picked up the template she ordered to paint... she was just looking at it...and the owner snapped at her and said, "You can't take that!" My daughter would have never taken it! She picked it up and was looking at it. If a business is going to have an age limit and they know there are others with different age limits, make certain it is communicated CLEARLY on their site. Such a fun activity! It's 3 hours and you do the sanding, staining, and painting with a stencil. Free chips and popcorn with wine/beer for sale. The staff were so helpful and kind. Way better than a paint on canvas type of thing. read more
