We had wine and snacks here before the broadway show matinee. The decor is cool and I love the map theme. We enjoyed some excellent reds and charcuterie plates, ordering sandwiches we could eat on the way to the theater. Well the only gal who was there was very busy, and I couldn't help but think a co-worker must have called in, because they shouldn't have been short staffed on a busy Sunday lunch time downtown. In all fairness, we should have chosen a different place to grab a snack because we barely made the curtain. I thought about leaving a rare 3-star review from me, but in retrospect, we liked the food & wine we had, even though it was all premium downtown prices. A charcuterie platter for lunch is a nice idea, but the selection for this one needed a little more thought put into it, especially at the price point of $24! Our platter for 2 had a soft brie cheese good for spreading on the bread, and 2 hard cheeses that did not taste right with anything else on the platter. There were only 2 meats - a rather standard but good salami, and mortadella which also didn't go with anything else. The olives, almonds and sweet peppers were good for munching, but the grapes could have been left off altogether in favor of a berry or fruit that can be eaten with charcuterie. There were a lot of better options in their display cases, so if I eat here again I will be a bit more selective in what goes on my plate instead of leaving it to whoever is working behind the counter. read more

The wife and I went down last Friday and we were not disappointed. The place is clean and the people are very knowledgeable about their products. The two person platter we had with two kinds meat , cheeses, fruit and crackers was great. The flavor of the pairings we had went together very well. They also have a good wine and beer selection. Before we left we ordered a six person charcuterie platter for the game on Saturday along with a couple of extra sides of the Honey Goat and Blue cheese we fell in love with. This place is as good as it gets. The name itself is so incredible and the owner is absolutely a gem. They have the pool toy rose and that was so tasty, one of my favorites and I haven't had it since Portland last year. This spot specializes in the whole wine and charcuterie and it is huge. A library of cheeses, fresh food for lunch and dinner and so far my favorite, cooking classes. The most special kitchen with all the luxury things for those coming in to teach a class. I got to attend a dumpling making class and it was the BEST. I love that Amber, the owner gives other chef's and foodies alike, the platform to teach people how to do cool things. Making dumplings was such a blast and having wine with it was an event cooler experience. They have these classes often so check out their website and see all the shenanigans! Friends and I took the ravioli cooking class last night. The atmosphere is nice however the space is too small for the number of people booked for the class. The wine tasting and charcuterie's are good, however I would skip the cooking classes. Our instructor pretty much was no help. I learned absolutely nothing more than the knowledge I had going into it. Her skill set seemed to be reading the instructions only. My friends felt the same way and thought we spent too much for the little received. read more

Forgot to review this place during my visit last Saturday as I was attempting to recover the day after I got the chance to stop in Wanderlust for a nice ending to my pre-birthday celebration with my oldest sister. We each decided to get a flight of wine, I did whites and she did reds. We also shared two "small plates" (choice of nuts, crackers and meat) because we didn't realize they were THAT small next time we will just get the charcuterie board because the $6 is worth it (and I recommend this to anyone who's trying to decide between the two). We ended up liking the first glasses of wine we tasted out of the three we each tried, enough so that my sister got me a bottle of the Hiruzta Hondarriba! (My first choice) it was so gentle on the palate while also delivering a delicious flavor. This winery-shop is such a cute place to stop and try imported European wine. Soft opening as they gear up for full-on open to the public, which feels like it is going to be soon. That getting-ready status is the only reason I held back a star, because this new establishment is def heading to 5 star status for me, and I a very much looking forward to the full build out. Oh heck, why wait, I have to give it 5 stars. Wanderlust demonstrates a solid appreciation for our regional selection of wine and cheeses. Knowledgeable folks, and wonderful selections, expect some surprises, I saw many wines and cheeses that were intriguingly unfamiliar even at this early stage of building stock. Amber obviously has some great cheese connections. Drew has great wine connections from his many years in the business. This is so great. Spokane definitely needs a Wanderlust. Had a wonderful talk about wine. $10.00 for a wine tasting and the wines I had were amazing, especially a wine from Romania. Never knew Romania made wine but I'm so glad I was able to try it. Brand new but already a favorite. Was delighted to find an all time favorite cheese -- or two -- front and center. There has been a lack of good cheese, properly stored and wrapped for some time. You may taste any and all of the cheese and then your purchase will be cut a weighed. Then placed in a "regulation" cheese bag (not plastic wrap) for you to take home. There is also a small amount of Charcuterie but I have yet to try. Also cheese and meat trays and snacks. A few sandwiches. Expect the shop and offerings to grow, Don't let this shop die. read more

Wanderlust is a must whether you live in Spokane or are visiting. We went due to a referral from Vino wine shop and are so glad we did! We needed a last minute charcuterie board, and Wanderlust delivered a beautiful assortment of cheeses and meats. We had some wine while we waited and really enjoyed the atmosphere and selection! The owner is very knowledgeable and super friendly. I only wish we had more time to spend there but had to get to a wedding one the charcuterie was prepared. We also asked that she put crackers on the side since we had some people who couldn't have wheat, and she was able to provide gluten-free crackers which was a pleasant and rare surprise!! I highly recommend stopping by if you love cheese, wine, and/or great company in a fun atmosphere!
