Visited this restaurant for dinner on New Year's Eve. There was a huge waitlist and they stopped adding people to the list more than 1.5 hours before the kitchen closes. So arrive early and be prepared to wait or figure out a way to make a reservation. For appetizers, I ordered the guava flavored chicken wings and mahi fish tacos. Guava flavored chicken wings was an unexpected winner amongst everything I had here. The sauce was delicious. The mahi fish tacos were pretty loaded but lacked flavor. The fish wasn't cooked properly. The tacos were a letdown. For entree, I ordered the tuna fish tacos with peanut sesame slaw and coconut mahi curry. The tuna fish tacos weren't great, the tuna was extremely chewy but the peanut sauce was quite good. The coconut mahi curry came with a generous side of sauted zucchini, carrots and onions which was a delight. There wasn't anything more exciting to talk about in the dish. On the other hand, their service was great and the food arrived pretty quickly. The live band for New Year's eve was simply amazing. Their energy was incredible and it was clear, this was a favorite among locals who came in later to dance. The atmosphere was fun and lively, perfect way to call in the New Year. This restaurant seemed more suitable if you want to enjoy the vibe with some drinks overlooking the beach but the not for the food.

You really can't beat the view from the outside seating of this restaurant. The ceviche was excellent. The piña colada was just OK. It was good to have a break from Cuban food.

This was our first time here. Located just across the street from the beach. The biggest challenge? Parking. Even on a Tuesday night. But that's Puerto Rican culture. Everyone is out for a good time. There was plenty of seating whether inside or out. How could you not want to sit and watch the ocean waves. Plus it was easy to see our waiter enjoyed his job. We ordered drinks, me with the Magna lager, my first time trying it. I'm not usually a beer guy but this I enjoyed...enough to have a few more. My girlfriend had to try the coco mofongo. Talk about perfect. Might have been the best one I've had in years. We ordered the jalapeño poppers filled with cream cheese. I could not have made them any better and there was plenty for 2 people. My entree was the blue burger and she had the tuna tacos with peanut sauce. The great thing about this place is that you never feel rushed. That's the bonus. You get to enjoy the atmosphere and the view. The food was outstanding and we already have plans on coming back. Put Boardriders on your list of places to visit. Guarantee you'll be thanking me for this hidden gem. Just remember, parking is the challenge.

This place gives Rincon vibes. It's a very cool place to go to grab some drinks and hang. There's seating upstairs, downstairs, inside and out on the street. There's food, it's pretty good, but it takes a very long time to get your order. Drinks come much faster than the food. We went Friday night. They had Karaoke. It was fun. read more

Excellent piña coladas. Good wings with a great sauce. Cheeseburger was cooked medium rare so if you have a preference, tell them. The poppers were good! Excellent views. Service is a little relaxed but that's island life. read more

What was once my favorite restaurant in Liquillo is now just a good spot to grab a drink, that is if you can get someone to wait on you? seems highly unlikely based on what a saw last night. not only was the waitstaff totally overloaded, but couldn't keep up at all. This resulted in long wait times for food, drinks, and bills. this recent visit took over 45mins for food, which during this time watched several people walk out after being seated, and were never waited on. I was very upset with the overall service last night and will not be back. more than an hour for two drinks, a sandwich and a burger....just not good anymore. so sad to see this place going south quickly. oh did I also mention the bill was wrong and was never corrected? not worth explaining it twice to our waiter who didn't know how to use the mobile POS system. there are many upcoming places near by to choose from, so long boardriders it had been a nice 10+ year run. read more

The best fish tacos on the island! We ate here and fell in love! You are right across from the ocean, fast service and great food!It has a second story that you can eat and hang out at the bar, with a nice breeze. We ordered Mahi fish tacos with Baril Colada! It was the perfect match up! They have karaoke and tv's to watch if you are catching up on your sports! We bought shirts from the store on site! Love this place! read more

We went to Boardriders based on the Yelp! reviews. We were not disappointed and, in fact, were pleasantly surprised. The music downstairs, which is more of a bar scene, was very loud, but the music upstairs, which is more of an open-air restaurant vibe was much more conducive to conversation. The view of the beach and water from upstairs is also quite appealing. Despite the reviews, we were a bit surprised by how tasty the food was. I had a blackened tuna steak which was cooked perfectly. It was so big we took home half of it to make fish tacos the following day. My wife had the tuna tacos special, which came with 3 huge tacos in flour tortillas. I don't recall all of the ingredients, but they were very tasty. We decided to share the tacos and take home the steak because it would travel better. Service was fine, but nothing remarkable. We were seated promptly (it was fairly early). It took a little time to order, but our food arrived in an appropriate timeframe. Given the $14.50 price, we decided to forgo mojitos or other tropical drinks. The meal overall was one of the better culinary experiences we've had in PR so far read more

This place is definitely a fun vibe for the weekend! I went on a Friday night & it was packed & lively, they even had karaoke. It's right on the beach so it offers a nice view. The food was okay though. Steak quesadillas- the steak was tough and made it hard to bite. Very nice find on our way back from Puerto Real. Beautiful spot on the beach with inside/outside seating. The food was great and the drinks were cheap. Highly recommend it if you're in the area or traveling between San Juan and Fajardo. read more

First stop when arriving in Puerto Rico. Location was great. Able to watch the kite surfers while sitting outside. Service was great and friendly. Food was great also. I had the Mahi Mahi taco. Delicious. Definitely a spot you should try. read more

Popular place but I don't know why. The wings were overcooked to the point of no return. The burger I ordered was average - not great, but not bad either. + one star for some good local beer selections and the wait staff were on top of things. read more

Easy lunch location to grab simple bites to eat. We enjoyed sitting in the front patio with a view of the ocean. Service was timely and we were visited by both a dog and a cat during our meal, which we enjoyed, but if you would not I'd recommend inside seating since there are many strays in the area. read more

Fantastic beach spot! We got a seat upstairs with our 5 yo son , happened to be only folks upstairs . Enjoyed the view, the waves the tuna bites , the wings , the mahi tacos , the onion rings , a great colada and and a Ocean Lab San Jose Lager I hadn't seen other places on the island . Also found a nice pair of $20 polarized shades in gift shop. Just everything I could ask for! read more

Prices are now $4 for the breakfast platters (2 fried eggs, waffles, cooked ham, bacon, and toasts); $6 for the lunches (a variety of local dishes such as fried pork pieces, pork chops, pernil, braised chicken, etc.); and the quintessential Boricua dish. MOFONGO ($8 for chicken, $9 for shrimp). All prices pre-IVU / pre local tax. We had a tripleta and it was good. Not the best we've had, but good. Good portion. I'd come back for their other specials! We came here on our last day in PR and we were bummed we didn't come here sooner! Its right across from the beach, the staff was super friendly, and everyone seemed to know each other. They had craft beers and awesome food. Their prices are great and portions are good. We ordered the tuna bites and house salad and we loved the tuna so much we ended up getting another order.
