    Jeni!! the best

If you're even thinking about eating at La Fonda Gourmet -- stop thinking and just GO! Seriously, we ate at a bunch of places during our trip to Puerto Rico and this was hands down the best experience we had, not just for the food (which was incredible) but for the whole vibe, the hospitality, everything. Our server Jeni (or Jenny -- sorry if I'm spelling it wrong!) was truly phenomenal. She took so much time to walk us through the menu since my family doesn't speak Spanish, gave us thoughtful recommendations, and just made us feel so welcomed. Honestly, it felt like she was an old family friend. She even took a bunch of pictures for us with these adorable props -- and for the record, my mom hates taking photos, but somehow Jeni made it happen and now we have a full family picture for the first time in forever. As for the food... wow. I got the shrimp tacos and they were out of this world. Super flavorful, and I loved the addition of plantains -- every bite was perfection. Even the Spanish-style rice on the side? I could eat that every single day and never get tired of it. My family went nuts for the cheese balls, and my dad is still talking about how massive and delicious his stuffed avocado (aguacate) was. Oh, and the pork bites? Delectable. Melt-in-your-mouth goodness. Funny enough, even before we walked in, random people on the street were hyping the place up to us -- telling us we made the right choice. The only thing I regret is finding this gem towards the end of our trip. I would've come here every day if I could've. Next time we're in town, this will be the FIRST stop. Can't recommend La Fonda Gourmet enough.

Avocado stuffed with mahi and mofongo

I was looking for a restaurant that offered the fried red snapper and came here in search of that specific platter but left loving everything else. From the outside, even from when you open the door, you think this is a small restaurant but as you walk towards the back, you realize it's bigger than you thought. It is a popular restaurant. Our waitress was phenomenal. She spoke both Spanish and English and gave some great recommendations, even telling us that they had tostones de pana. Yuuum!! We ordered the mofongo with octopus, the churrasco with tostones the pana, the red snapper with regular tostones (but they brought it with tostones de pana) we didn't mind. The lobster with rice and beans, and yes, picked from the tank right behind from where we were seating. The kids got a kick out of that. The avocado stuffed with mahi and mofongo and a kid's meal with chicken and arroz mamposteao. Every plate came with a side of shredded cabbage and a tomato. I have to say that EVERY plate was delicious! Flavors were great, service was outstanding and ambiance on point as they were playing salsa the whole time we were there. Prices for the meal is what you would expect at Luquillo, but this meal was worth it. Definitely worth checking out.

They ran out of ribeye but the other steak was excellent. Tender. Tge service was not stellar but ok prices were very reasonable. My wife lived her tocos. Very good portions. Menus all but impossible to read due to tgeir fading. I'd go bacK. Sat night and found st parking.

The grouper and skirt steak mofongo was delicious but over priced. The drinks were good too. The service was quick and our waitress was friendly.

After a day of hiking and going to the beach we decided to stop here for dinner. The plates and drinks were delicious and the server was helpful in educating us on specials/what's available. There is indoor and outdoor seating with the space not feeling too crowded. I ordered the veggie stuffed avocado and did not order a side of amarillos because the rice was supposedly made with it but there were no pieces of them in it, just a slight hint of flavor so that was a little confusing (see pic for reference). Regardless the food was still good and we enjoyed it!

What a great find in Luquillo for a delicious meal. I would say their food is better than the vibe because there are several restaurants to choose from in Luquillo that have live music going on so this restaurant will not check those boxes but I felt their food was better than those restaurants. I came here for dinner and didn't have to wait as it was still early around 6. But by the time it was 7, the waiting line was pretty long. So be prepared for that as the food takes quite a long time to come. I had the Mofongo with chicken and the red snapper with shrimp and trifango. Both dishes came with a side of shredded lettuce. The shrimp was fresh and cooked perfectly, the mofongo and trifango were both flavorful and creamy, chimichuri sauce was refreshing and the quantity was huge. However, the chicken in the mofongo was more on the chewy side and the weak point of the dish. I would suggest ordering shrimp instead as a side. I felt the redsnapper special dish was kinda expensive for what it was worth, the size of the fish wasn't that big for a main course dish. The dish also came with a side sauce with flavors to choose from. I went for the garlic sauce and the sauce was pretty heavy on the butter. I will try a different sauce for next time. I also tried their soursop juice which was good too. I would stick to their usual menu for my next time. All in all, it was a pleasant experience dining here. The winner here was the mofongo.

More selection for you to choose from. Hint: Try the empanada croquettes.

This has been a favorite of ours to visit every time we're in Luquillo. Parking can be challenging and if you don't mind walking a block or two it's worth the time. You will soon learn that Puerto Ricans are the most friendliest and happiest people around. We will celebrate anything. And even though I'm deaf, I was raised in this culture where music has always been the center of our culture. Today I ordered the coconut mojito. Appetizer was the cheese balls with guava sauce. Holy smokes! This will change your life. The guava sauce is homemade. The Pulpo was cooked and prepared perfectly! And life without rice and beans on the island is like walking around without clothes. It's a must here. And when it's with sofrito there is nothing better! Come and see and experience for yourself.

This restaurant has amazing food! Everything was a 10/10! I love have they put the little PR flags on their meals. The virgin Pina coladas were a 10/10! The food was freshly made and great presentation. It has two dining areas. Music was pretty loud but not annoying. I recommend coming here!

The food is unique to Puerto Rico, with a variety! I'm not one to venture out, but my husband is, & he was impressed with what he had ordered! The staff is bilingual, which is a blessing for those of us who aren't blessed to speak the beautiful language here! Overall, the restaurant is welcoming, comforting, & delicious!

This place is it.!!! The staff were so friendly and helpful not just with food and drink recommendations but also sightseeing ideas. I had the aguacate relleno with ceviche and let me tell you it was the best thing I've ever eaten. Our drinks where also top tier. I highly recommend you eating here.

It's a little mom and pop place that's in the very far back of the kiosks where people rarely go. It's a little dingy, and visitors include some flies and candy peddlers as well, which is the reason for the -.5 stars. However, the food was so well prepared that I'm giving it super high ratings. It's no La Parilla as far as fanciness goes. The menu is a little smaller and the atmosphere is definitely more hole-in-the-wall. The owner lady barely speaks any English, but I'm pretty sure all of the food was prepared by her, so extra kudos. I'd go here for a relaxing and relatively cheap night out with very very delicious food.
