Let me explain how this is a 5 star review: the board they had in stock had dents and dings, and they did not want to send that out to me. Instead, they ordered a new one from Sector 9 to make sure I had a perfect board and wasn't given the "beat up floor model." Josh was very responsive to my emails, and very clear with his communications and the steps they were taking. They value their customers and it is very evident by how I was treated. The phone number relays to a random person not familiar with any store or online business. I placed an order, received a message and tracking number but nothing has shipped. Tried several time to contact both the California location and Oregon locations. If you've had the same problem, contact the FBI internet fraud division and document everything. Contact your bank and be specific about merchant fraud so that the visa or Mastercard third party blocks this merchant. Purchased a longboard for my son for his birthday via Amazon. Quite expensive, broke after less than 5 uses. They never answer their phone, and multiple emails have gone unanswered. I placed my order 8 days ago and I've yet to receive any information about it other then the order receipt and the transaction on my card. I call the phone numbers that are provided on their website. One doesn't answer, even after 10 calls. And the other belongs to a lady that has never even heard of them. I've emailed both the customer service and shops email. And still no response. This is a review based on my online experience; this is not for an in-person retail store experience. I ordered a Arbor KOA Fish longboard and, with free shipping on orders over $100 and a $10 off coupon, got the best deal around. REI wanted $169 + tax for the same board. I got it for $129 shipped and no tax. So, pricing was great. The website was simple and easy-to-use. They let you use PayPal which is convenient. Communication was immediate; letting me know that the order was received and the next steps in the process. Shortly thereafter a tracking number email was sent to me as well. From CA to WA shipping was 3 business days. The longboard was packed well. The board was assembled and aside from a couple nuts that could have been just a tad tighter on two of the wheels, everything was put together well. I saw no obvious signs of damage from mishandling. I just recently ordered a sector 9 shattered board with bone swiss 6 bearings and orangatang wheels. The customer service was excellent and the board arrived to my house within 3 days. It is an awesome board and definitely the best price compared to anywhere else I could have gotten it. I also talked briefly to one of the guys in the store via phone and he seemed pretty chill and helpful. I would definitely order from them again. I bought a board online from this shop for my boyfriend's birthday. The customer service was truly amazing. There were some problems with my billing info, and they were great about calling me to get it straight (and not giving up, because I'm a pain to get hold of). On top of that, there were problems with the delivery (caused by FedEx and not the shop), which led to FedEx leaving it at my door without consent, with an odd note, and apparently the package being stolen. As soon as I got it straight with FedEx, Boards On Nord jumped on the issue, and got a replacement sent out that day. They also thought to have it held safe for me at a FedEx office close to my house so it wouldn't happen again. I ordered my first Cruiser. I got the Globe Dart Cruiser Complete - Glacier Grey. I accidently ordered the Lime Punch without looking at the other Decks they had. I called them and asked for an exchange. By the next day, the owner of the shop called me and lets me know personally that it was cool about the last minute exchange. When Monday came around, I knew my board would be shipped out. Like everyone, i got excited. The owner ended up calling me to let me know that the board I ordered will be out of stock until about Thursday or Friday. He gave me a few options. Cancel order, pick a different board, or wait until the board I want comes in. I originally was gonna maybe change the board out, but each board I had asked for he was out of stock, but he did kindly search for the boards to make sure they were there. Until I decided to just wait an extra few days for the board to come into his shop, he was completely cool about it. He didn't sound upset after I had him search for the other boards I was gonna trade out with. He nicely apologized and let me know that when he gets the board in he will contact me, let me know he's got it and that he will ship it out to me. This was all yesterday. I should get my board next Wednesday or Thursday. But I just wanted to put in my review on the service. These guys are real laid back and very helpful. From other reviews from other people on the shipping, I've heard it is great. I can't wait to get my cruiser. Because of their there kind service, I will be ordering my boards from these guys. Plus, John from the shop called me to tell me the wheels I wanted were out ot stock and after talking a bit about options, upgraded me to the new Otang Baluts for the same price. The most Horrible online purchase experience ever! Do not buy from them! You have been warned! I would write a less than zero review if it possible. The absolute worst customer service ever. They sent me a board with cheaper and different trucks and wheels and bearings than the picture and product description either directly stated or implied would come with it. Furthermore, they had me pay $32 return shipping, and then charged me a 20% restocking fee which was $40 on a $200 purchase. In the end I paid $72 to return a $200 skateboard, that's 36% of the purchase price. I am now in the process of filing a claim with Amazon (as I purchased it from NordBoards through Amazon), and I am pretty confident that Amazon will straighten it all out. I have visited this store 2 times in the last 2 months (my bf is a avid skater) and each time I have come into this shop I have been met by a young man who acted like I was bothering him when I asked for any kind of help. The first visit I bought as a gift for my bf a complete skate board. When I asked if I coukd see a few decks the guy acted like it was a hassle he had to get off his computer to help me. When I asked about a different type of bearing for the wheels he coiuld give me no information on the product. I am not sure if this is because I am a girl or because he was just an idiot. I spent about $150 bucks on that trip and left with a bad taste in my mouth. The second visit was to ask for a donation of a used deck for a small less fortunate child that my BF is mentoring. I come from Santa Cruz and I can tell you all the shops there have PLENTY of used decks,trucks and whatnot from when people buy new boards. They are always looking to help the youth out and often times will give those decks to kids who cant afford new ones. This was how my bf supported his skating habit in the early years. When we went in to ask for a donation the same guy was sitting there and gave us the same bad attitude and acted like it was a HUGE deal he had to get up to look. When he returned he handed over the crappiest board I have ever seen. HUGE cracks and not really usable. I can understand the skepticism when people come in asking for something for free but where we come from the skate shops support their community. We are trying to give a less fortunate kid a chance to get into a sport which can keep him out of trouble as he gets older. We will NOT be returning and we willl be telling every skater we see at the Chico skate park to boycott this shop. read more

I guess I should have looked at the reviews before I bought here. Ordered online, they didn't send upgraded parts and kept my money as well. Had to contact them to dispute the errors, they kept lying. Lied about upgraded bearings, lied about upgraded shipping then presented like they did me a favor. Ended up refunding bearing money, and nothing else. Customer service sucks. The prices aren't worth the shady attitude. Doing skaters dirty...I realize this update comes too little, too late, but I also found that the deck they shipped was warped. I don't do many reviews but I feel customers should know about my experience. I bought my board online and It was delivered with a crack on the wood where the truck bolts were over-tightened. That was probably because they didn't put the pads in that I ordered and payed extra for. The worst part is that they offered to replace the board but only if I removed all of the parts and they said nothing about the pads. That shows me that they do not listen to customers and are unwilling to make business dealing right if they have gone wrong. If they send a customer a damaged product, they should send them a replacement right away. I am mostly disappointed in the attitude of the staff there in their dealings with me on the phone and through email. I am still waiting to see if they are willing to make it right and if they do I have faith more people will support their organization. read more

My experience with Nord Boards has been absolutely atrocious, particularly with their customer service. I would not recommend anyone ordering from here. My grandma ordered me a board online for Christmas. I have no idea how prompt the delivery was, but when I opened the box Christmas morning they had sent the wrong board. We contacted them immediately about it and heard nothing for several weeks. My grandma had to contact them again to finally get an answer. We wanted to be able to ship the board back from my house, where it was, and have the correct board shipped back to me. After another couple weeks, and their demand that we send pictures of the board, we were finally supposed to have been sent a return shipping label that never arrived, and that would have had the wrong address on it even after they asked what address should be used. After a few MORE weeks they sent the correct shipping label to the correct email, and we shipped off the board. We now finally get an email back from them saying they've refunded her money, not exchanged the board. This was apparently because I did not put a note in with the box, even though they never once asked for one, and they have it in their customer service email records at least three separate times what was supposed to be done with the board. In summary, this company failed to correctly fulfill the original order, and was anything but prompt and attentive in their customer service. We have had to jump through hoop after hoop for two months now, and have never once gotten the result we were supposed to. read more

I'm a mother trying to get my son a long board for his perfect attendance and graduation from 6th grade. I thought to myself that I'd like to buy local so I went to buy one at this place. As I walked in the store there was a guy sitting there not doing ANYTHING, I thought to myself "Great he will be able to help me understand what I need to buy". Boy was I wrong. It is super sad that someone doing nothing doesn't want my business. This person was not only unhelpful he was condescending and even at one point asked me if I had a smart phone because I could go online and see his prices?!?! Are you joking me? It was at that moment that my daughter and I looked at each other and decided we weren't going to beg him to sell us a board. So we walked out never to return! I then took my money and went to Chico Bike and Board (also local company) and bought a nice board there and they helped me understand what I needed. So I bought all the extras he will need. Wow. Why would I BEG someone to sell me something? DO NOT GO TO BOARDS ON NORD UNLESS YOU WANT TO SHOW SOMEONE HOW NOT TO ACT. I, and some others as I can see, has had some problems with the long delivery times, poor customer service, or just not contact back whatso ever. I don't usually write reviews, but I figured this might help someone who was in my situation c: First off, I had ordered an Arbor 2017 Flagship 40 Inch board off the website, because it was cheaper on there. I got my email receipt and waited for it to come in. After waiting about 4 days, I started to worry that I had not received an tracking number, so I emailed the customer service and waited for a reply. After waiting an additional 9 days, I was worried that I spent that money on nothing, so I tried to call the phone numbers on the website, but they ended up leading nowhere, with no response or even a personalized voicemail message to greet me after the call didn't go through, like any other company would have. Since those two numbers didn't go through, I looked up the business on Google to find that the phone number on there was different than the two on the website, only to find that it lead to the same outcome as the others, dead with no voicemail message. I had also ordered some trucks on Amazon and noticed it was from Boards on Nord as well, and they had came in fairly quickly, so I checked the profile for a number. The Amazon Seller profile ALSO had a different phone number, so I called it and they answered! An employee answered and I asked him about my tracking number and worries politely, and he said he would let his boss know and they would get ahold of me, a polite conversation all in all. Later that day, I received a tracking number and it came in fairly fast after that. I hope this helps someone out, I was very worried and concerned thinking that I had just lost nearly 100$. I would put their number on here to make it easier, but I don't know if its against Yelp's guidelines. TLDR; If you are not getting a response from any of the contact info on the Boards on Nord site, go onto Amazon and find their Amazon Seller profile and call that number. After calling, I got a polite response and my order was shipped immediately that day. read more

I ordered a $277 long board with 1-2 shipping to ride with my 7 year old nephew who got his first skateboard. I ordered the board on the 27th of December. The website says most boards go out in one business day. I paid for express shipping. We were visiting family in Texas from England. The board was never shipped. I've called and gotten a message multiple times that they are closed until the 27 of December for the holidays and again for a day on New Years. It's January 5th. In store experience: These guys kick butt!! I usually research what I want before coming in and they always have it! From safety gear to shred gear they got it covered. Huge selection of short boards to longboards, whatever you like. Amazing wheels selection I've seen in the Chico area that I've lived in for 22 years. If you wanna grip hard lines or slide all crazy, they've got you covered. Truck selection is off the hook too! Randall's, Caliber's, Bear's, Paris's, Gullwings, and tons of non-reverse kingpins as well for the short boards! I wasn't offered to have my board set up, no receipt was given to me at the time of purchase and the sheer indifference of the one employee in the shop was painfully obvious. When I went to return / replace my defective board, I was offered to call a customer service line by the very lackadaisical, uninformed employee ... When the man from Boards on Nord's "customer service" answered, he suggested I search for the distribution company's phone number instead of just fixing my problem. He got information he needed to place his order, immediate help when a board broke, a replacement before he could get the broken board packaged to return, and continuous communications along the way. This place, is terrible with customers, they do not care at all for the local community. I walked up today to see the shop was apparently open. There were 2-3 signs clearly stating that it was "open", and I came in at 2:30. The door was locked so I called the employee who I saw in the shop answer the phone and say that he was busy and to come back tomorrow. I was totally ready to buy a board today!! This has happened way too many times, and they have lost a customer for good. I was shipped a green board (which i thought was a mistake) so I called and the employee tells me he "upgraded me." I have been skateboarding for awhile now, been through many skate shops around California and beyond, but these guy are by far the worst I have ever visited. First off, the front door wasn't even open during normal business hours and I had to go through the back after waiting for someone to come open the door. They seemed really bothered that someone would actually visit their piece of shit shop and spend money there. I should have left then and there, but I really needed trucks and wheels, so I endured the precious snowflake "helping" me out. The guy had no clue what he was talking about and tried to sell me longboard wheels for a street board and claimed that Indy didn't sell low rise trucks. Then the snowflake says they are mainly an online company now and rarely do any actual business inside the store. I can see why. I then asked if I can set up my board inside the shop, which has never been a problem every single time I have been to a skateshop. The special snowflake said no. I then explained I wouldn't need his help to set it up. He said they were really busy, which was a lie as about 5 employees were sitting in the back talking and doing fuck all. I was done with their shit at that point, paid for my overpriced gear, and left. You can bet I will never visit again and will warn everyone to avoid the hell out of that place.
