The absolute worst food and service we have ever had at any restaurant. The "manager served us and we should have left after waiting 16 min to get our order taken. Then we got our diet pop and placed a order for our favorite appetizer there lobster dip. Ran out of drinks waiting on food. The wife had to go get the 1st couple of refills. The manager was full of excuses due to a large 30 top table outside. But we watched him visiting the bar customers instead of taking care of the dining room. 1 hour 10 minutes onto our experience our food came with our appetizer all at the same time. The last time we were here the brisket was AMAZING tender, juicy and overall cooked perfectly. 3 of us got the brisket that was flame thrown, dry and the bottom of our baskets were swimming in grease. I ate a hand full of my sweet potato fries but the rest were inedible due to swimming in the brisket grease. Wife had to get our drinks again and had to tap it on the counter to get anyone's attention. Then the manager and owner threatened to throw us out over her tapping the plastic cup on the table. We mentioned the food quality etc and he said across the dining room. "DO YOU BELIEVE THIS CRAP NOW THEY ARE SAYING THE FOOD IS BAD" I'm 54 years old and have never experienced such a terribly ran restaurant. We usually leave large tips everywhere we go including this place. They took the appetizer off but still charged us 120.28 for a table of 5 with most of the food still in the baskets. We will never ever eat here again and unless your a bar drinker I don't recommend you do either. Drinks-came out in less than 5 mins BBQ nachos- very good, had a good amount of nachos for its price, the meat was cooked well and the cheese was creamy be the chips were slightly soggy where the cheese was Atmosphere- was great servers are welcoming and got us seated without a reservation super fast at rush hour (5:00) Mac n cheese- very creamy but found a really small hair in it other then that it was very filling Cornbread- I almost mistook it for a cupcake (it had a vanilla flavor to it) it was so sweet but I enjoyed it Hotdog- it was also a really sweet pork hotdog the consistency was very confusing French fries- almost the best fries iv ever had the crisp was unmatched compared to a average restaurant Brisket- it was a very thin cut cooked to perfection, very low fat in general Overall i really enjoyed my experience, combine the atmosphere with the food I definitely recommend it. It is very family friendly(i came with my group of 6). Come here for great brisket and a great view of the Ohio river. Plus it is reasonably priced. read more

Visiting the area and this place kept popping up in searches and now see why. Its tucked away along the river front with inside and outside seating. The parking lot was packed for Sunday lunch. We were seated right away and they had a large menu from appetizers, sandwiches and entrees. We started with seafood dip and fresh chips, very good. The nachos and loaded waffle fries looked amazing too. Next visit! We ordered the BBQ smoked wings, Mac n cheese and a BBQ club. All was fantastic with great flavor. They also have a caddy of BBQ sauces. We will definitely be back if ever in the area again. read more

The pulled pork nacho appetizer was amazing. The nacho chips in them are amazing. Best ever. The bbq chicken and pulled pork is amazing The brisket is ok but not great. Overall the ambience is awesome setting outside along the river. The staff is friendly and does a great job taking care of their guests. The portions are very generous. Having been here a few times now, I can vouch for the service and the food. The servers have been outstanding and on this particular occasion my table had to order a second round of chicken wings because the three of us devoured them too quickly. Great location, mediocre food, and we had good service. Beer was served cold in cold mugs -- thank you! On 6/20 I ordered the "wood chip mac-n-cheese" with brisket, and... for $17, I can't recommend it. First, it was made with PENNE. And it was almost certainly not baked. I'm not sure what cheese(s) they used, but it was like velveta in texture yet with no flavor, not even salt. Terrible. Finally, the brisket was not just sparse but also -- again -- had virtually zero flavor. Disappointing, especially for the price. After passing it around the table -- offering it to others because it was seriously lousy -- not a single person in our party was interested in it, which was surprising since our group is generally a low-maintenance hungry-type -- after everyone had a taste, no one was interested in it. The outside deck was nice, the live music was OK, and our server was awesome. We watched other tables being served, and it seems the staff hustles, which is always nice to see, yet the number of servers, hostesses, whoever running back and forth empty-handed had us scratching outrheads. Great food and atmosphere! We stopped here on our way back from taking our son to OU.

We ate here for a late lunch on a Saturday and enjoyed ourselves. The view of the river from the patio is amazing, and it was the perfect way to pass a couple hours with friends. The BBQ is excellent, especially the half BBQ chicken or the pulled pork. We found the portions to be huge, and all of us had two meals out of each entree. We also ordered the BBQ nachos and the fried pickels, both were also good. This is definitely a "local dive" type place and not meant for fine dining. That's okay because the food is awesome and it's a great "come as you are" stop for groups or families with kids. There is a small play area out back and a full stocked bar for the adults. Overall, we really enjoyed our time here and would definitely come back again. read more

Cute place right on the river-can't beat the view. It was a busy and beautiful Sunday afternoon! Had to ask the hostesses if anyone was coming to our table after about 10-15 minutes of waiting and watching all the other tables (who sat after us) be served. They sat after and left before us-good thing we went in a huge hurry! Little bit of attitude received from the hostess station-and they claimed "they understood" but offered no real help or conclusion until I asked if they really understood and then one of them said let me come back and get your drink orders. Our server happened to witness this exchange and was very apologetic and attentive (and brought us a coupon for a future visit!) Apparently, she'd had to pick up another server's table load and really wasn't getting much help. Food was good but took a while to come out. Comes in baskets with paper liners and very casual but definitely enjoyed! We'll be back to use our coupon and likely more so too! read more

We were traveling south on I-77 after a son's wedding and found this excellent place. We have a dog and needed a pet friendly place. We ordered the 3 meat platter (ribs, brisket, and brisket - we love brisket) and an order of wings. The food was just amazing! Especially the ribs! ... and remember, we love brisket. The wings were also very good! Their french fries were also off the charts scrumptious ! we wanted to order another side of fries because they were so good, but we were stuffed. It was right along the river, so the view was really nice as well. To top it off the service was incredible as well. We have found a new "must" visit restaurant as we travel through or around Marietta, Ohio... and all because they were the only establishment within a 30 mile radius of our online search that accommodated small dogs! Dear Yelpers, Got a chance to stop by one of the local Marietta establishments and I must say...I think Marietta has much better to offer. The service was friendly and the people were nice. But that is about the best it gets. The fish was lackluster and the breading was mushy inside. The fries saved me from having to eat something I didn't love but at least the portion size was good. The pops we got were all flat as well. My table got the ribs and BBQ chicken and people couldn't stop raving about it. So maybe stick to the BBQ side of the Boathouse. I ordered the Buffalo chicken pasta. The pasta was so chewy, I couldn't eat it. I just ate the tiny chicken part. My fiance liked his ribs yesterday but today he ordered the chicken and it was served cold. The only way to get fully cooked chicken served cold is to pull it out if the refrigerator and warm it up. At that point it's leftovers, and nobody goes out to eat for leftovers. We sent it back. They claimed they reheated it but when they returned it to us, it was still cold. They need a fire pit or outdoor heaters for this time if year. The waitress was pleasant and bathrooms were clean. I really disliked my food but at least the music was good (because I put money in the jute box). read more

This is one of my favorite restaurants since moving to Marietta and trying it out. I will guiltily say that I have eaten here or ordered pick-up probably at least once a month or two since we tried it. The food is so good! The atmosphere in the restaurant is great, and in the spring/summer, eating outside to watch the boats go by is so nice! Our family's favorites here include: the brisket sandwich, ribs, pulled pork mac and cheese, mac and cheese, fries, and cheesy broccoli. All of the sides are good! They have dessert too, but I've never saved room for it. The price is on par for what you get. read more

The brisket we both got, was very dry overcooked we thought it was jerky. It was supposed to be served with cornbread, but they were out of it. Always enjoy the food at this location, outdoor seating makes for a great relaxing environment. The pulled pork was great but if you get the sandwich you might as well toss the bottom part of the bun because the meat is dripping with juice and it is ruined by the time it hits the table. Would be nice if they drained it some before serving. It wasn't extremely busy yesterday when we were there but service was slow. We ordered onion ring appetizers but never ended up getting them. The waitress said she forgot to enter them and asked if we still wanted them when we got our meal, we said yes and she apologized and said we wouldn't be charged. After finishing our meal and getting a box she said the kitchen still had not dropped them so she decided to cancel them. Not real sure how to feel about the mix up at this point. Onion rings are not a deal breaker as the food is always amazing. read more
