My parents and I came to visit while vacationing from south Florida and just happened to come across this gem. The ambiance was delightful with extremely professional service. My dad ordered the swordfish and raved about the flavors. My mom and I shared the salmon entree with was delicious with an interesting ginger sauce.my mom also didn't shut up about how good the French onion soup was. With all the wonderful cuisine to choose from in Stuart...just skip this place. Blood Orange Margarita was not blood orange juice. It was plain ole oJ and garnished with a nasty heel of an orange -Yuck! Pink Moon PEI oysters were so tiny that we couldn't pick them up with the cocktail fork. They just slithered through the fork tines. So tiny that the waiter asked to clear them b4 we were even finished b/c he couldn't even see them. Table next to us returned theirs as we chatted b/c it was comical!!! I also saw two other plates returned to the kitchen. One was a scallop dish and the table to the other side of us returned their French fries. That's three tables in a row unsatisfied with the food (and the scallop peeps makes four in my view). I ordered the Tampa Sushi Roll. It was ok, but not enough fish. Menu read shaved onions, but they were sliced and thick and all that I could taste afterwards. The place wasn't that busy either, so no excuses there and it's kinda dirty too...sticky. I don't like carpeted dining rooms and that just me. We ordered the crab spinach and artichoke dip as an appetizer, it was delicious and I really liked how it came with bread and chips. Being read a whole speech on how the servers aren't paid anymore, that they are only paid a 18% commission, of which 3% goes to the kitchen is a poor practice and a disgrace to the hospitality community. Prices at the Boathouse aren't bottom shelf, and for the owners to choose to move to a "commission" model is a disservice to everyone. This is coming from someone who normally overtips, so it's not about the money. I surely hope that management reads these and goes back to being hospitable in the hospitality business. read more

Stopped in for a lunch during the week and we were seated immediately on the deck as requested. We had our dog with us and along with our cold beverages, they brought her a bowl of ice water. Very nice touch! Our food arrived timely and we enjoyed the baked Brie and mahi sandwich, both were delicious.. our server was great, very attentive and friendly. Had grilled mahi sandwich, Crispy mahi sandwich, prosciutto flatbread and a bunch of sides (asparagus, roasted Brussels sprouts, mac & cheese. All very good (FYI, "unloaded " mac & cheese is made with smoked cheese so has a bacon flavor. Not everyone likes that.) our server Mimi was excellent! bloody Mary very good and generous as well. Great location, but it's pretty loud inside, so conversations will be limited. I sat at the bar and was there for 15 minutes before I was asked what I'd like to drink. Had a draft and ordered edamame, a sushi roll and a dozen oysters. Edamame was ok. It's in a warm ponzu-like sauce that's nothing special, but fine. The Pompeii sushi roll I had was excellent. Well worth ordering and larger than a normal roll. The oysters were also outstanding, although I should have asked what they cost. The menu said market price, which was $42 for a dozen, so pricy, but they were very good. I drained my first beer in about two minutes and didn't get asked if I wanted another until after my meal was done. Then ran into a friend and had a third. Three Guinness beers, edamame, a sushi roll and a dozen oysters were almost $100, so it's pretty pricy for appetizers. Food was fine though. It was the service that sucked, which was crazy because it wasn't abnormally busy. I'd bump it up a star with better service. read more

We were put between two large tables and it was very loud! Our server Rossana was very nice. We asked to move and she accommodated us right away. The RUDE manager Pepe came over to tell us that the table was reserved and we had to move back to the loud table. We just said we'd finish our drinks and leave and he rudely said you have to move now!!! Terrible!! Only reason it gets 2 stars is for the view!!!!! Went into this restaurant with excitement and good attitudes all the way around the table (we had a 6 month old, 5 year old, and 3 adults) Left furious and feeling like we had been jipped. We had a reservation at 12:00 and got seated immediately. We ordered food around 12:20, and ordered all the food at one time. Appetizers made it to the table pretty quickly, but it took over an hour for our entrees to get to the table. Drink order was forgotten. Once we inquired, it seemed as if no one knew what was going on. The waitress told us she got her "head bitten off" by the staff in the back when she asked where our food was. The manager, Tony, didn't seem to care, made excuses, offered to comp a "round of drinks". When we checked the bill, nothing was taken off! The service was completely horrible and infuriating. Food was EXCELLENT, so I'm giving stars for that, but the service was very disappointing. We came in with reservations to a pretty empty restaurant; we were guided to a table in the middle of the floor, asked if we could take the booth in the corner with the view, and was told that was being held for a large party. It sat empty for 30 minutes, then a party of 2 was seated there for an hour. So what was wrong with us sitting there? *Then* we had a nice microaggression moment (which maybe answers the question above?) when our server heard me translating the beer description for a member of my party and decided that the right response was "we also have Modelo and other Spanish beers." Throughout the two-hour dinner, the beers were served in hot glasses, felt like they came right out the dishwasher, and of course that made the beer super warm. One member of our party, after ordering a second cocktail, had her cocktail glass picked up by the server because "I need to use your glass to make your drink." ...what? We ordered a salad to share at the table with our dinner to add some green to our dishes, and it was brought out way before the meals/much after the appetizers, but even if we had *wanted* to eat it before the meal was served, we weren't given plates, and of course our server was MIA for a while. So we sat there staring at a salad. We never saw a manager walking the floor in our two hours there--not sure what was going on, but it was disappointing that our first time there was colored by poor service when the food was so great. read more

Server was completely inattentive and never came back to the table once to check on us. We had to flag down other people to ask for chopsticks and soy sauce (ordered rolls-they were good). Had to ask for drink menu to order a drink instead of server simply coming back to the table at some point the hour we are there to ask how we are doing and ask if we need anything. Asked to speak to manager and even he never came to the table to talk to us. It is unfortunate because place is nice, view is nice, and food was good. Our waitress had an emergency right at start of our meal which is understandable. From there we bounced between another waiter and waitress. Then all went down all after that from the waiters to the bus boys to the kitchen to the manager. After our waitress left we didn't see someone else from the staff for another 10 minutes. Once someone else came to wait on us we got our drinks and appetizers quickly. But they did not bring the plates for the apps for another 5 minutes so we started to eat. We had mussels and calamari so with four people at the table plates were very necessary. Most restaurants typically gives app plates with food or before food. Then our food came and they did not give salad dressing, ketchup or bring soy sauce/dish and chop sticks to go with sushi. We had to ask two different people for those essentials Then we had to ask the busboys to clear the finished plates to make room for our entrees. Typically busboys know to do this. 3 of the of the meals and the 2 apps were good but the sushi I got was warm which aside from being gross is a food safety issue. The waitress was very nice about it and said she would get me a new one. 20 minutes went by and still no sushi. When we asked her about it, they said "this what happens when you send food back, it has to go to the bottom of the line in the kitchen." We were astonished that she put blame right on the customer when it was a food safety issue. The after another 10 minutes they brought the new sushi out but again did not bring the chopsticks, soy sauce dish and soy sauce. A free minutes past and no one came so we went to the front to get those ourselves. I've never been to a restaurant where I've needed to get my own essentials to my meal. The sushi quality was marginally improved. Then we asked for the manager to talk to us and she said the sushi would be taken off the bill which was appreciated but we found her to be condescending with her responses from there. She blamed the service on the waitress's emergency. Emergencies happen but just because one waitress left it would not make sense that the busboys and kitchen would also fall apart. The process to get the bill and pay took another 20 minutes. We noticed they charged us $3 for Tito's in a drink but when that drink was ordered we did not request Tito's nor did the waitress explain it was made with Tito's so it would be more expensive. They took that off without issue however it is disingenuous to charge people for things they are not aware of. Throughout the whole meal they never asked us if we wanted any drink refills and only refilled water at the end of the meal. We have been to this restaurant before and liked it but we were very disappointed with the staff and a manager response to the issues and the quality of some of the food we had. Given that I did not have my meal until 30 minutes after everyone else I would've expected them to offer a comped drink as I waited or something else to retain costumers and prevent a review like this. Stuart Boathouse used to be one of our favorite spots but our last two visits have been incredibly disappointing. Today we were excited to see a half empty bar upon our arrival and took a nice corner seat, where we sat, for almost 20 minutes with not a single contact. While we sat, we noticed every patron at the bar needed something; their tab, their food, a refill, their space cleared. We also noticed that they now apply an 18% service charge, which we totally get and have no issue with at all. But... 20 minutes. No contact at all? Peace out. You lost our business today. My dad was visiting from out of town for Father's Day and I wanted to take him somewhere nice so I decided to bring him here.. must I say this was probably the best dinner I have ever had in my life with him. For me, it was the most memorable and meaningful Father's Day I've ever had with him. Kasia was our server and she went ABOVE AND BEYOND for us. When I tell you she did an excellent job, I mean she did OUTSTANDING! She was so nice, so polite, introduced herself right away, she was prompt, she was on top of everything. Classy restaurant right on the water in Stuart serving seafood and American style food. I went for a business meeting; ambience is slightly upscale / business casual waterfront restaurant. Seating available inside and outside. We sat inside since it was lunchtime and still very hot and humid out. I had the blackened mahi sandwich, which was very fresh and cooked just right. Their menu has quite a bit of variety, so I'll be back to try some of their sushi options and their big salads. Service was great! read more

Went to the Boathouse for lunch to enjoy a beautiful afternoon. It was recommended to us and was looking for a great experience. The atmosphere is top notch. Beautiful views of the water and their outside seating provides unobstructed views for everyone (via tiered seating). The food was pretty good overall. We all had the Grilled Mahi Mahi Sandwiches. The Sandwich was done very well and the coleslaw that was served with it was prepare well. I also had the New England Clam Chowder. It was ok and maybe a little overpriced for what you got. It had a good amount of clams but it was a tad runny. I was not impressed by the service. One thing that is important to me is to keep drinks filled. There were a few times in which our table had run out and had to ask for them to be refilled. I see that as basic server 101. The service did get a tad better over the course of the meal but just didn't add up. Overall the view and main dish quality was great.
