Meals were delivered by a food runner. Nobody came to see how the food was. Stacked all the dirty dishes in an attempt to get our bill. We were blown away to see that an 18 percent gratuity was added to our bill (for a party of 2). Zero service and charged an 18 percent tip. We normally leave 20 percent even for mediocre service. This explains why it was the worst service we've ever had. When you know you're getting a tip without providing service then why put forward the effort. Too many other options to go back there. This restaurant was amazing! I came in yesterday for a birthday and had reserved a table, we got the perfect corner table. The view was beautiful and the food was perfect, and when we ordered dessert they took off the price of the dessert for the birthday and wrote happy birthday in caramel. The food is surprisingly very good!! The loaded mac and cheese was certainly a highlight, but everything else was top quality. The baked brie was also incredible, and everyone was very happy with the entrees they ordered. In my experience of going to water-front restaurants, it's usually a pretty disappointing affair, as they take advantage of their location and neglect food quality. I was expecting the same with Stuart Boathouse, however this little gem in Stuart offers the best of both worlds: top quality cuisine and excellent views of the water. At the time of this writing, it's got a modest 3 star rating, but I don't think that's fair. The only reason I can see for this is what many good restaurants suffer from in smaller, lesser urbanized areas, is that the locals don't appreciate it as much as they should. They'll tend to think that it's "expensive" or maybe they had to wait too long for a table because it was busy, and that's somehow the restaurant's fault. Let me assure you that from the perspective of someone who is used to dining out a lot, this place is top notch and deserves a 5 star rating. read more

Really nice to sit outside on a sunny sunday afternoon when the live music is going on at the little boardwalk stage next door. Staff is very cordial. I ordered the Mediterranean Salmon but they brought me the sesame seared salmon by mistake. I had a hard time deciding between th he two when I ordered, so I didn't complain. Had dinner here on a Friday night. We sat outside and the breeze and view was spectacular! My husband ordered the seafood trio (45.00!!) for his entree, scallops and MAINE lobster tail. We made an impromptu visit to Stuart and loved the neat waterfront, the views and the little farmer's market. We stopped in the Boathouse for a quick orange juice. We ended up having a Belgium waffle and a side of bacon to share. Delicious, fresh berries, real whipped cream on the waffle and really good warm maple syrup. The waffle and bacon were plenty for us to share. The patio was warm but nice and the help was constantly cleaning the windows on the doors heading outside which was a nice show of cleanliness and care. I would recommend this spot for visitors, my only gripe are the prices. 24$ plus a tip for one waffle, one side of bacon and two glasses of OJ. This place exceeded all expectations. The cheese and kale flatbread is the best I've ever had. The calamari and rock shrimp were cooked perfectly with a delicious sauce. Met upstairs this evening (never been upstairs) joined my two brothers and nephew and brother's GF...it's a cluster F--K to say the least. Loud boisterous patrons and probably 1000-1100 sq foot room with appropriately 7 large tables...it was the most horrible dining experience I've encountered in any restaurant/establishment EVER!! Service was so bad, and after ordering it took well over 1 hour 20 minutes to get our food. This was and is the worst restaurant in all of Martin County, Florida. Server presented our bill and tacked on 25% gratuity to even add insult to injury...AVOID this place period!! read more

The one star is only for our nice waitress Grace who did her best. This is our third time here. Very disappointed and will not be coming back. Over priced and the view isn't worth it.
