I found a used 05 220 Cobalt listed online by BbG before the '16 season even started. I contacted Boats by George regarding the vessel and was put in contact with Adam. They worked with me on a DEAL! Boat was personally delivered to my slip, I was given a full in water demonstration of all the rules and regulations and procedures of not only my new purchase but the complete run down of Lake George. 6 months after my purchase, after yet another season on the LG for this boat, which I now know the complete history of, it came time for regularly scheduled maintenance. A text was sent to Adam the very next day my boat was picked up from my slip by 9am without my presence necessary, maintenance was completed and my boat was returned to its dock all within 48 hours. Boats by George is a more than just a boating/service/sales/marina. However, they are amazingly competent in those arenas. They are attentive and anticipate your needs. Everyone is professional and knowledgeable. They retain staff - and those smiling faces greet us almost every day in the summer. But beyond that, they improve the quality of our lives. They know what we need and BBG has sold us 4 boats over the the last 40 years. Each one fit us like a glove. The staff help my 84 year old dad into the boat with dignity. They towed us when we had an accident. And when my mother passed suddenly - in tears as I type this- they put the boat in the lake (at considerable inconvenience) so that our entire family could celebrate her life on her lake. I purchased my new Four Winns from George in 2006 and kept it at his marina for 4 years before I, unfortunately, had to sell it. Those were 4 of my favorite years. George, his wife Patti and their two boys along with all of the dock kids that worked the marina, made my experience one I will never forget. My boat was well taken care of and was always ready for me when I needed it. George and Patti also very generously held amazing parties for all of their customers every year. Having their marina in Sandy Bay was another great perk....totally protected and easy access to all parts of the lake. 4 years ago I purchased a 2009 Four Wins from Boats by George. The boat ran great all Summer. One day in August we were anchored all day, we weren't using the batteries to the boat but at the end of the day (on a Sunday) the boat didn't start. I called Boats by George and they had an after hours number in case of emergencies. I called their after hours number and explained that we were stranded in a bay and the boat wouldn't start. The person on the phone advised that they would send someone out. Well within a half hour I see a boat approaching. To our surprise it was George himself! He came out on a Sunday early evening and got our boat started and we were able to return safely. George and his staff are wonderful! read more

Purchased a Cobalt A29 from George only to have a major engine malfunction after 44 hours . I never heard from George unless I reached out and when the resolution was finalized I was informed that Volvo would pick up 1/2 the cost of transport. Thanks is to Cobalt all transport costs were picked up. Don't do business with Boats by George as they do not fight for their customers read more
