The staff was extremely rude and abrasive. One of my dock hands almost pushed my daughter off the dock while checking the fuel level. We returned early due to the boat being so outdated/could not keep up with the lake. Two days later we received a $1500 CC surcharge for a 1.5 inch tear in the seat. It should be noted, the staff checked the boat prior to our departure. Owner is extremely unreasonable and incompetent. Refuses to return phone calls. Go at your own risk.

AVOID AT ALL COST!!! - does not offer insurance, only…read moresecurity deposit (should've been our clue) - old, non maintained boats for multi-day rentals - atrocious or absent customer care - the owner is ALWAYS angry and rude - understaffed For our July 4th weekend Captain Bob rented us a beat up old boat that had taped up siding and missing bolts on the sun canopy, railings, and ladder, and with ripped up upholstery. . July 3rd afternoon - picked up the boat - not much of a choice at this point. July 4th - tape came off and siding part bent out while we are on the water. Captain Bob refused to fix it - too busy, not enough workers, etc. July 5th - steering cable broke. Lost half a day - the boat had to be towed back for repairs. We were temporary given another boat to come back later same day to pick up the broken one. Captain Bob was not able to complete the repair and gave us yet another boat - another hour wasted. July 6th - Captain Bob charged our credit card for additional $2700 for the repairs of taped up siding and some new dent he claims he found on the railing. When questioned - he cursed us out and called us the abusers of his boat and that he never wanted to see us again. Also threatened to sue us if we dispute the charges. Seen some similar reviews - looks like Captain Bob runs this scheme on a regular basis. STAY AWAY !!!

The owners live upstairs and across the road, there are folks who rent the little rooms by the water, on top of that it is a working marina so if you are looking for privacy this isn't the place for you. However for lake access and being right next to Bolton landing which is less cheesy and a lot more quaint than Lake George this is a great spot. I'd definitely recommend and visit again.

We had a full day of fun which included tubing, swimming, and lakeside restaurant dining. A message to others that rent a boat from Chric's Marina. Be sure that your area is attentive to all the contractual commitments before signing. We were uncertain about the weather before, the day of our rental since it was raining slightly. But fortunately, it was the best day of the week. Canceling for rainy weather may not be an option.

Instead of handling it professionally, a gentleman in a red pickup truck approached us aggressively, cursed at me, repeatedly told us we were "done," and said our trip would be over before it started. This all happened in front of another employee. I moved the vehicle as directed and did not escalate, but the interaction left a very uneasy feeling.
