I don't know what is going on with this place lately. As a resident of Birch Run, I have eaten here dozens of times in the past. The last couple of times, I've had terrible service and even worse food. My co-worker and I (I work at the outlets) ordered salads as take out. I waited the suggested 25 minutes before I left to pick it up. Unfortunately, I used up my painfully short lunch break waiting for our food to come out. When I got back to the store, both of our orders were wrong, and we didn't have time to go back. My partner and I visited with our niece last night and I was happy that they weren't busy. Only 6 tables of customers. I had time to count because it took almost 15 minutes for anyone to acknowledge our existence. We ordered the cheese curds as an app when we placed our drink order. 35 minutes later, when our dinners came out, I asked the server about our appetizer. She hurried up and brought them out, and when she sat them down, I noticed that they were overcooked, just like everything else she served us. They were SO overcooked that there was no cheese left, it was just burnt, fried batter, that I paid $6 for. This place used to be a favorite quick dinner stop for us, but not anymore. read more

If there are more than 8 cars in the parking lot expect a minimum 30 min ticket time, plus an additional 10-15 min to have your order taken. Food is good but considering the amount of time it takes to get a meal, the convenience of eatting out is diminished. This place seems constantly understaffed and the workers are working fast but inefficiently, achieving little with many steps. This would be a 1 star but the servers are always pleasant and upbeat even when they are under stress. read more

Food was very good, however service was abysmal. Ordered our food 20 min before a gentlemen and he got his food and left before our food even came to our table. Pancakes are very good, eggs were nice. Coffee not too bad, a typical Big Boy restaurant. read more

This is my first time at this restaurant... I ordered their Dinner special, with blackened fish. Their bread roll was so soft.. and the desert chocolate sunday was good too.. It's a good little breakfast stop before you deal with the insanity that are the outlets @ Birch Run. It's a chain but it does feel extremely 'country' in there. I could've sworn I was back in Charleston, SC. Would never be my first pick (once again it's a chain) but I have no complaints about the service or the food. If I could give 0 stars, I would. First, I phoned earlier in the day to see if they had the ability to feed our family as we have two celiac children. I was told that there were different grilling areas and that there were several safe GF options for my kids. Upon arriving at the restaurant, the greeter was unpleasant to my husband. After we were seated, the server told us that there is one grilling area and it's not safe for the kids to have many of the options we were told were safe. And when my husband inquired about the Hollandaise sauce (mainly to see if it was GF), he was told, "you probably shouldn't eat it if you don't know what it is." I would go back to this Bob Evans as long as I didn't get the same waitress. We didn't have to wait long for a seat even though they were almost full. However it took our waitress about 10-15 minutes to stop at our table to ask for our drink orders. Our food and drinks came promptly and both were very good. However, when our waitress brought our receipt, she didn't ask us if we needed refills (all of our glasses were empty) and she left to quickly for me to ask. She also never came back even though we sat for 20-25 minutes waiting. We finally left even though they claim their drinks are bottomless. I told the manager what happened when we paid and he quickly got me a tea to go. This was much appreciated other than the fact that he got me unsweetened tea instead of the strawberry I ask for. The meal was good and filling. I enjoyed the atmosphere. The staff was friendly and the restaurant and bathroom was clean. The only down side was that it took way too long to get our order. Other than that, nice little place! read more

I can't give any stars (I have to do one) because we didn't actually eat there. We waited 20 minutes in the lobby and then were seated. The waitress came to the table after 5 minutes to say she would be right with us. After 10 more minutes I saw that she was serving a table so I sat back down and waited, however she didn't come back so we left. read more

Fast service, even when they are busy. Billy R. is a great waiter. I have had him a couple of times and never disapoints. Always great!

I went on golfing trip in the morning and I really wanted some chicken tenders. But when I went inside they said they could not give me any because it was not time for lunch/dinner to be served. I sat there and balled my eyes out all I wanted was some chicken and fries. I think they should sell all foods all day no matter the time. read more

Service was pretty terrible since 4 people did not show up for work that day. Thinking it is more fault of management. Coffee was horrible and sent back. Ordered half a sandwich and soup and the lunch meat on the sandwich was so thin you could see through it! Won't ever be going back. read more

I Can't even review the food because we sat there for over 10 minutes without anyone coming over. Hostess asked us if we would like booth or table, we said booth, the restaurant was pretty empty except for a 12 top. She put us right next to them I asked if she could move us away from them because they were loud. She said all the other tables are dirty..... in the entire empty restaurant . Last week we whent to the restaurant and they were out of the broasted chicken and then they said they had to make more took about 50 minutes to get the food. So we decided to try them out agine, so we were going to order the broasted chicken and they said they were out agine but they had the white meat only. We were ordering the chicken when we asked if we had to pay the extra money that was for the dark meat when we found out the white meat was out too. They had no communication in the place between the cooks and the waitress. So we got some other food and ordered are bread and we got rolls and biscuits and the brought the rolls then we found out they were out of biscuits then we got our food witch was about 20 minutes after we got there. The waitress for got to bring us the soup and salad befor out food, then we asked if we could get more rolls and they were out of them. Also while we were there their was a husband and a wife and there mother that waited 15 minutes after all there food was up on the shelf and ended up leaving. Also the manger was a joke didnt try to help anyone and just sat up by the windo laughing with one of the waiters. Then the waitress brought out the salad and soup and forgot what went into the soup. Worst experience ever in our 8 yrs of dining here. After a long day at wrestling & a 1st place win, we took our family out to celebrate. Although our waitress Natalie was very attentive, it took us 45 mins to receive our meals, which was a burger, soup/sandwich, and breakfast. Both of our daughters ordered the same meal and one was considerably smaller portion than the other plate. My husband's burger was soggy on bottom and a hard dry bun on top as if it had been sitting under the heat lamp for too long. The explanation given to us was that the line cook was being a stupid man and the manager was working on our order. After the waitress stated the manager would be giving us a discount because of our wait & experience only to find that the meals in which they screwed up was taken off of the bill. We order takeout approximately 6x's a month in addition to our in-house dining...this will be no more. We would have reconsidered this review and our final decision if the Manager would have table touched vs making the waitresses handle his dirty work for him. read more

First time here. Got there around 12, it wasn't super busy, lots of empty tables. But our service sucked. Sabrina was our waitress and she got a drink orders, came back got our food order. And it took about 40 mins to get our food. She dropped the food off and didn't ask if we needed anything else. She tended more to the other table my food came out warm, as if was sitting in the back for a while. My water cup was empty, my brother in law had to flag her down to get more coffee and water. Birch Run's Bob Evans & Pierson Rd.'s Cracker Barrell are the area's top spots for Breakfast! There is no doubt about it. I prefer Bob Evans (just slightly) because it is a more quiet setting. Service is fast and the breakfast food is GREAT! read more

Food was the normal mediocre bob Evans breakfast, the server was nice and did a good job but the real story was the wait time for the food. Simply unacceptable to wait 45mins for food when there were literally only 5 or 6 tables at the time. read more

HORRIBLE!!! WE arrived at here at 1:30 on a Saturday afternoon after shopping at the outlet. I eat at Bob Evans often and was very disappointed by this visit. It took about 10 minutes for someone to even acknowledge us even though the manager was less than 3 ft away clearing a large table. There were only a couple of people ahead of us and basically it was because the tables had not been cleared. After a short wait we were seated and we had to ask that they wipe the table off as there was food still on it. Then we waited at least 15 minutes for someone to serve us. The guy walked from the kitchen and stood at our table wiping his hands on his apron. He pulled a dirty napkin out of his pocket to wipe our drink order on. At this point we decided to leave because if this is how things were done here it made us wonder about the cleanliness of the kitchen. My niece proceeded to tell us she had a similar experience a couple days earlier and it took them over 45 minutes to bring her soup and salad after she ordered it. When she told the cashier about her disappointment she blew her off. This place needs to be cleaned up and get a better manager as it surely is the worst Bob Evans I have ever been to. read more

I usually go here at lunch, and order one of their fabulous salads. Tonight, we went at dinner. The wait staff was good, and apologized for the absence of iced tea, and for the slow arrival of our meals after we ordered. Apparently a "big party" of 10 had set the kitchen back. At another table, I heard the waitress apologize for being out of white bread for toast, and saw how patient she was when two meals were returned to the kitchen. The waitress apologized and told them that the kitchen staff were "stressed."When our food arrives some 45 minute after ordering, I sent the raw broccoli back (it was barely warm, and otherwise not cooked) and was graciously offered an alternative. The carrots were mushy, and the other person in my party said that his order was not what he was used to either. Unless this restaurant can get a competent kitchen crew who can handle the work, it is not worth going to. There are other restaurants in the area that do a far better job. read more

After waiting for 5 minutes to be seated, my two adult children and I sat for 20 minutes before I walked out. Not one person even so much as acknowledged that we were sitting there. Several waiters walked past us at different times. I went to the counter and asked for a manager, the girl pointed and said, "He's over there". She didn't try to get him for me, strike 2. Strike 3 was his response when I told him we were leaving because we'd waited so long and didn't even get wait staff to come to our table. "Where were you sitting?" When I pointed out the table he said "I'm sorry" as he was walking away from me. He was obviously so sorry he had to listen to an angry customer. Probably for the upteenth time that night! Had he offered to even comp one of our meals, we may have stayed. They lost a minimum of $40 in sales that night. The really sad thing about it, they were so empty they could have used that sale. read more
