Celiac Foodie- Eh. Not recommended for Celiacs. I ordered the Chicken Tex Salad Bowl, with no tortilla strips. It's noted 'Gluten Sensative' on the menu. My salad bowl arrived looking okay. Until I turned the plate and it was noticed my bowl was dirty. Literally had previous food sauce on the side of the bowl. Prior to noticing that, I had a few bites and immediately realized I was ill. No charge for my meal. The Spicy Chicken Sandwich was okay, but over cooked chicken. Hard to eat. Fries were seasoned well. Came for lunch with the parents today not expecting much. We all did the $14.99 all you care to eat boneless wings, riblets, and shrimp. We ordered a few orders of each between the three of us. Favorites were the riblets and the honey barbecue boneless wings. Fries were great but too plentiful. The shrimp's breading could have used more flavor, even just black pepper or something. There wasn't much meat on the riblets but it didn't matter as you could reorder. Food came out quickly and service was friendly and quick. For some reason the coleslaw is not unlimited which was a bit odd as I would have liked more than the tiny cup that they gave. Restaurant was also very cold inside. I had to wear my jacket the entire time I was in there. However it was clean and well kept. Overall I'd return as I thought it was a good deal for all you can eat. read more

Stopped here and got the chicken quesadilla salad, which was a really interesting variation the "southwestern salad" that turns up at a lot of places. Could see making this a habit when returning from up north. Not many people here when got in at 5PM on a Wednesday. No one at all at the bar, where I took a seat. Decided on Applebee's for dinner on a Tuesday night while staying in Frankenmuth. Compared to a lot of other places looking at online menus, prices are getting ridiculously high to eat out. Last year during the shut-down of restaurants, we discovered Applebee's was doing curbside and had a 2 for $20 meals(if I'm correct on price, it's only up to $22 now), so we chose to stick with it. I was not disappointed. It wasn't overly busy when we went in, and we were greeted by staff. Had a great waitress. Helped us decide on drinks-they had a house margarita with different flavors for $3.75 so we tried that. It was good! I had the strawberry one. For dinner I ordered the Fiesta Lime Chicken. That also was good. I also had a choice of salad so I picked a Caesar salad. My experience here for a weeknight was awesome-friendly staff, loved our server, good food and drinks. Stopped in to this Applebee's yesterday, sat 10 minutes before someone came up to greet us. We were informed that our server (bre?) was outside smoking! And she was sorry for our wait. She got our drink order and brought it back and took our order. Still haven't seen the server. As my husband goes to take a drink of his pop he noticed his cup was nasty with food reminisce floating in his drink! Still no server. We sat for another 5 minutes finally bre made an appearance to the table behind us where apparently there were missing an entire entree from their table. She made that right and then slammed down side plates on our table and rushed off.. we were still trying to get a new drink!! So I looked down and not only were there flys landing on the plates she had just slammed down but they were also nasty dirty! At this point I was mad as hell so I took the dirty dishes and pop to the host stand... No one was there. Smh we just left. Nothing to drink nothing to eat and a waste of more then 20 minutes. As a server myself I was embarrassed for this whole situation! Do better from the host to the dish pit it was a complete disaster! First I love the kids menu. My son is communication challenged and their menu was simple with pictures for each item. It clearly showed how to choose an entree, side, beverage, and more. He chose his meal himself. And when it came he ate it, starting with the broccoli! My husband's chicken sandwich was great and my chili lime chicken with Spanish rice was amazing. Very glad that I tried it! The restaurant was decorated for Christmas very cleverly. We also noticed a portrait of a young lady wearing a tiara and sash with Down syndrome which made us smile as our son has Ds also. It was a great meal. Swung in here on a Sunday while traveling up north for a family vacation. Place was bumping... came with a ~10 minute wait to be sat at around 6:30. Although a chain restaurant, this location does a great job of feeling more like a small town bar and grill with murals from the local high schools on each wall. It has been 10+ years since I've dined at an Applebee's and I have some sad news... the oriental chicken wrap is no longer on the menu. Tons of specials, they were pushing an all you can eat riblet, chicken, fish basket for around 15 dollars. And I caught a two dinner and an appetizer deal for 20 on the last page of the menu. Although tempting our stomachs and New Years diet resolutions took us the salad route... went with the oriental chicken salad and the steak southwestern salad.... not much a New Years resolution as both salads eclipsed 1k calories and were drenched in dressing. No complaints, food was a solid 3.5 stars. Modern dining experience with the new iPad/ kiosk on every table... able to order appetizers, drinks, desserts without asking a waiter/waitress. You can even cash out without talking to a single person. Although convenient, we saw less of our friendly waitress and had to rely on grabbing anyone we could get for some extra napkins etc (there is a call button on the kiosk, we just chose to ask a nearby waitress. read more

Nothing is cut to spec. Pico de gallo is chunky, too many jalapeños. Medium rare steak is well done. I know the right scoops are not being utilized. This location has disappointed me several times and as a former GM/KM, it sucks. It's my in-laws favorite place, but even they have been disappointed when a perfect margarita only fills her glass once instead of 2.5 times and was overloaded with ice. Depending on how busy they are is how good their food will be. I suggest not to order steak their at all. Every time I do I am disappointed. My steak is usually rare when I ask for medium. The quality of the steak is horrible, its tough and I have to choke it down because some of the sinew or something always is hanging up in my mouth. Who knows maybe its because I am hungry, really hungry and I don't chew my food properly. From now on I don't order any steak from Applebees. Ordered a steak well done and it was red so i sent it back and it was still red. Order a drink that was supposed to be an icy drink and it wasnt. Didnt have baked potato so i ordered red potatoes and they were so dry you couldnt eat them. I ask for butter but by then the potatoes were cold and i got cold butter, gross!! APPLEBEES RUINED MY VACATION!!!! Waited 25 minutes for a carside to go order that was placed 3 days in advance. They packaged it terribly. Cold stuff in the same bag as the hot stuff so of course things like the yogurt turned to water by the time we drove 10 minutes down the road to our hotel. They forgot to pack eating utensils in our bag and the hotel didn't have any so we ate things like salad and steak with our fingers (gross!!!). They also forgot our son's drink which was a pop that we promised him as a reward for being good (which he was good all day long just to get that pop!). He only gets pop on special occasions... imagine his disappointment!!! Two large drinks were placed on the same side of a drink carrier (unbalanced!) with two tiny milks on the other side. One drink spilled in the van. The other drink spilled at the hotel when the lid cracked in two and popped off when I picked it up. The steaks were undercooked, rubbery, missing the spices on one of them, full of large chunks of fat with very little meat to it. I eat at Applebees and order the same thing all of the time and this is the very worst steak I have ever eaten. The stuff from Wal-Mart that I cook at home turns out better than these steaks did!!!! They didn't even get the sides right. Burnt crispy potatoes and cold mashed potatoes. My daughter's grilled cheese sandwich was like biting threw a rock and she couldn't eat it. My son's pasta chicken dish looked like it was left-overs recooked and definitely over-cooked. The mozzarella sticks were fine, MOST OF THE FOOD WAS THROWN OUT! A waste of $50. The whole fiasco robbed us of 2.5 hours of vacation time. Instead of the waterpark, we were sitting and waiting in a parking lot, cleaning up spilled pop, replacing missing items like forks on our own as we were on vacation and didn't have a fork in our hotel room, reheating food, and getting more food elsewhere. Also, the staff wasn't very nice and the girl who finally brought us our food practically threw it at us and ran inside. We tried to stop her to ask her for things like ketchup, to get us a manager, etc, but she ignored us and ran off. It was a very busy night for them (Christmas Eve) but we had placed our order 3 days in advance and the car who pulled up next to us was served promptly by a friendly server who made the time to talk to them. :( We had planned to tip $20 as we assumed excellent service but drove off with only leaving a tip of the remainder balance of $1.73 on our gift card. Two stars only because their takeout girl is nice and I never have an issue with takeout food, strangely enough. Otherwise, it would be one star because more than 50% of the time there is something horribly wrong with my food, usually hair but sometimes other things, like once the ceramic plate was chipped and there were pieces of ceramic all over inside my pasta. Once I was out with a large group of co-workers and it honestly looked like one of the cooks emptied a hairbrush into my pasta, it was full of hair. My whole table lost their appetite. Checked into this Applebee's and there were no incentives like the Applebee's in Novi, Michigan. Now, I like these incentives and can get use to them! Oh well. I don't even know where to start. My husband and I lost someone very dear to us today and didn't have it in us to cook dinner. We are farmers and very successful business owners so we rarely have time to go out. We haven't been to dinner in 5 years... so tonight we took our 14 year old with autism, and both of our toddlers... the girls have NEVER been to a restaurant in their lives... everything was fine despite our toddlers acting like toddlers because it was new to them and they didn't understand... fast forward to us getting the check and my husband goes to look for the waiter to pay our bill and he found him talking mad smack about us. My husband just turned around and the waiter came and apologized and acted like everything was cool and blah blah... we still tipped him well... but I seriously hope he learned his lesson about judging a book by its cover. We are having a really rough day, and our toddlers were being toddlers... and that just put the cherry on top. It was horrible, and I don't think we're going to attempt that again.
