Stopped at Bob Evans for breakfast and my husband and myself ordered. My husband wanted a waffle with strawberries and real maple syrup. We were waiting for our order and after about 10 minutes the waitress came back to the table to let him know they don't serve real maple syrup. He cancelled his order. This restaurant is in NY State and in an area that is big on Made in New York with Maple Syrup being a locally made and promoted product. He was very disappointed the chain doesn't promote and serve local products. My breakfast was great as usual. My recommendation to Bob Evans is if you offer pancakes, French toast or waffles please offer real maple syrup for patrons that prefer their syrup with a true maple flavor not artificial. read more

This place reminds me of Boston Market and IHOP with the cheer of the Midwestern family. Fast, warm, traditionally comforting food. The broccoli cheddar soup is absolutely recommended! I also want to note that this particular location was very clean, not only the actual building, but also the employees were dressed sharply in their crisp white shirts. Excellent prompt service. Food was delicious, we were a party of 4, everything was correct and hot, even an add on came quickly, this was at 7am on a Thursday, keep that mind, when they are swamped it may be a crap shoot, just saying. Now for the big surprise, they offer FRIED CORN MUSH as breakfast plate, 2 eggs and a meat, it was absolutely delicious, mush was perfectly cooked and a nice size portion. We went to store #160 tonight for dinner, located in Bloomington, IN. We have been there numerous times before, probably 4 times in the past 2 months. Each time there has been a problem with the paper towel dispenser in the laddie's bathroom. (I hear the men's restroom has a problem also.)There is no paper towel. Once they had a roll on a tray. Gross, but not as gross as having nothing. The sign says that "employees must wash hands before returning to work". Employees cannot dry their hands. I think this is a health code violation. (I have worked in the restaurant industry.) Bob Evans and my Grandmother are the same generation. My Grandmother used to say "you can tell a restaurant's kitchen cleanliness by the cleanliness (or lack of) the bathroom. I tell the manager/cashier after every visit and they tell someone to fix it, and that is it. We are never comped or given a discounted price of our meal. Do I have to walk in and see if the freaking towels work before I order? We drop about $25 each time and tip $5 to the waitstaff. How many times must your staff hear about this problem? There were several other people trying to get paper towel out of the dispenser........ And you are a "highway pit stop". Come on, get your act together! Or you will have less patronage than you did tonight! So folks, before you order, or even go in, be forewarned. read more

Literally the most racist restaurant I have ever been to. They refused to seat me my brother and my two friends and basically told us it was because we were minorities. The host even said that the server would be " mad" if she sat us in his section! The managers refused to talk to us and even acknowledge the situation. If I could give 0 stars I would be more than willing to, but needless to say I will never step foot in that restaurant again. read more

I went here one morning with some buds, and it was an interesting experience. The whole seating procedure and paying procesure I find strange, but whatever I guess. The hash browns are great and the crêpes are good. My first time having crêpes, but they were good. This server was a bit moody. My mum's friend asked for more milk I think, and she just gave a little look like "UUGH I CAN'T BELIEVE YOU JUST ASKED ME FOR MILK! YOU DEMON!" So it was an interesting start to my day. read more

Good service, good food, and my first experience ordering online for take out went perfect. The next time, not so much. They forgot my bacon. I called and the manager apologized, took down my name and address, and said she would send out a 5 dollar coupon immediately. 3 weeks later and nothing. I ordered online again and, when I went inside, I informed the manager of the situation and said instead of mailing me out a coupon, just comp my bacon now. She did, and I was happy. I counted the items in my order and all seemed well. Got home; missing bacon, sour cream, and chives on my potatoes. (It costs extra.) Pissed! read more

My last visit to Bob Evan was on a Sunday morning. It was the best food that I have tasted in a very, very, long time. The wait staff at this particular Bob Evan's,is amazingly friendly, when I was there; I had a great time getting to know my waitresses. I will never forget her. Kyla was so sweet. 1 one that stands out to me the most her name was Kyla she's great, she was always smiling, fast friendly service, Kyla, really seemed to enjoy her job. I haven't had a waitress be more friendly, prompt with refills, and such exceptional service in years . She really earned these five stars for this restaurant. Needless to say Kyla, received a healthy tip from me, and will continue to do so in the future. THANK YOU KYLA. YOU REALLY MADE MY WHOLE WEEK. YOU'RE THE BOMB GIRL, KEEP UP THE FABULOUS JOB. One of my worst dining experiences ever! Went in around 9pm on a Saturday... the place was dead. Had a few (maybe 3) tables occupied so we thought we'd have decent service. WRONG! First we had to wait so they could clean a table. Yes, ALL of the tables in the section we were seated were unclean (i.e. dirty dishes, food on floor, etc.). Hostess wiped down a table and left it soaking wet for us, so we had to ask our waitress to dry it off. So besides the place looking like a tornado went through and dropped dirty dishes and garbage everywhere, we had dirty silverware (it looked like dirty egg yolk that had been caked on). Asked for new silverware which we were given. I did ask for sweet tea which I was told that they were out of. Food was warm at best, bland, on questionably "clean" dishes. I wanted to leave so badly, but my company I was with was hungry so I stuck it through. Oh and the kicker: the HVAC system wasn't working and the place was FREEZING. When we paid, manager apologized for the cold restaurant. After he swiped the debit card, he asked about our service. I told him it about our horrific experience, and he said "oh had someone told me earlier I would have comp'd your meal." So I guess he couldn't put the money back on the card, because he didn't offer us anything but an apology. I was so upset I thought it would be best not to say too much. Several dishes to enjoy at Bob Evans -- pot roast sandwich, loaded potato soup, BLT&E (bacon-lettuce-tomato with a fried egg, yum) and an open faced turkey sandwich that's like Thanksgiving on a single plate. But for me lately it's all about the pot roast hash. Home fries covered with cheddar cheese and shredded pot roast, then chopped scallions and a couple of fried eggs. Tasty and not too high at $7.99. Service was fine, and the restaurant was refurbished a few months back, so it looks much less dated now. read more

The food used to be good (haven't been here in a while) Today is the last time. Salad was watery & tomato & cuke frozen. The Stuffing was terrible & a weird shade of green. Mashed potatoes were hard. Desert which was supposed to be part of the meal-choice of 3 parfaits or a scoop of ice cream (up charge for pie). I was offered pumpkin & gladly said yes-Waitress informed me-sorry, we don't have that. We don't have ice cream either. I just had a surgical procedure done & on a liquid diet for 3 days. Not picky at this point (cheese & crackers would have been gourmet to me). This was inedible & a waste of money. read more
