We stopped into the Hive looking for something quick and not fried. You order at counter get a number, and they bring it out to you. I enjoyed the chill vibe. I grabbed a Cortado coffee to go, and it was great! The Banh Mi was good. Not authentic, but had good flavor. I liked how it was wrapped in the parchment for cleaner eating. I could have used more veggies in it. The chicken pot pie was very flaky and good. Soup and rice and beans were comforting. We also got a smash burger that was ok, it was good, soft bread, but not our favorite.

AWESOME place! One of my absolute go-tos in Bloomington for breakfast and brunch. I love their all-day breakfast menu, and the tater tots are unbelievably tasty -- perfectly crispy and seasoned just right. Their weekend brunches are even better -- the blueberry pancakes and quiche slices absolutely rock. Tons of great breakfast and lunch options, so there's always something new to try. The vibe is very casual and welcoming, and the staff are always friendly. You order at the counter, and they bring your food right to your table. Prices are reasonable, and they even have a rewards program, which is a nice bonus. I also appreciate how clean this restaurant is in general, too. A must-visit if you're in Bloomington -- Hive never disappoints!

We have been visiting Hive at 10th and the Bypass since their opening. One World has a great tradition of good food at Lennie's and the we have been so happy to have this option on the East side. Lots of parking Pies so many delicious pies Indoor/outdoor seating Some fun menu offerings that make it a little more distinct Love the velvet soup, roast chicken, the bahn mi (so delish), and the Hive out of course. The grab and go pickup is wonderful. I love sending in an order and having my husband just run in on his way home and it is ready to go on the shelf with no waiting in line.

This was my first time trying Hive. I've heard so many good things about the tater tots so I had to try them. This is the type of place where you order at the front, sit down, and then they bring your food to you when it's ready. I liked how spacious it was with lots of natural light and outdoor seating for when it's nice out. We ordered the smash burgers and these were decent burgers. I expected a little more flavor but it's okay. The bun is really soft but the meat and toppings slip out really easily. The tater tots were honestly life changing--a 5/5! I loved the sauce they came with. I would definitely come again to try other items on their menu, especially the brownie pie!

Loved the outdoor seating and the coffee was quite good. We thought the food was good, not out of the world amazing, but good. We tried a variety of dishes, a breakfast sammie (loved the challah), two different burgers and avocado toast. I liked that we could serve ourselves coffee and soda. The hot honey and jams were delicious. Definitely a solid choice if you are looking for a quick brunch or lunch a bit away from campus.

Delicious burger, crispy fries and great atmosphere. Met some friends for lunch and had the Frisco burger with fries. The sourdough bread was crispy and perfectly sour. The beef was flat with crispy edges. Loved the thousand island dressing. The shoestring fries were thin, crispy and perfectly seasoned. Yum!

Cuban Breakfast Bowl. Eggs cooked to perfection, but overcooked rice and needs more flavor!

After several reviews, I decided to try Hive. I was passing through Bloomington and thought it sounded like a cool place to get some brunch. Fast, fresh, and friendly, supporting locally sourced ingredients and community partners? Sure! Walking in, I noticed that it was bustling like a bee hive (pun intended). Definitely a popular breakfast/ brunch/lunch place. Spacious with lots of seating inside and outside. I was greeted at the counter. The manager suggested I try the Cuban breakfast bowl, a fresh and healthy take on arroz a la cubana. Two eggs over easy and runny just how I like it with black beans, rice, Cotija cheese, pico avocado salsa, and cilantro. They also have craft sodas, coffee, and plenty of baked goods to try. Service was quick and friendly. They bring out your food on little baking sheets. I wanted to like this place. But the food was mediocre, not elevated. A filling portion, but a little steep in price ($13.75). I guess I was expecting a bit more. Maybe I am a rice snob, but was not expecting overcooked sticky long grain white rice. Looking at the bowl, I thought. I can make a better version of this at home and with more flavor. Yes, it is vegetarian and gluten free, but give me more spice, a little kick, some sofrito (tomato sauce) or plantains. There is so much potential! Maybe I am asking for too much. Or maybe next time I will just stick with a burger or some chicken.

We tried calling several times throughout the day to notify FARM that we needed to change the reservation because two of our guests were ill and would not be able to join. The restaurant's phone just kept forwarding to voicemail. We arrived at our reservation time and were told that we would be charged via OpenTable for the guests who did not join. When I mentioned the phone issue, the hostess said that it did not matter if we had called today, because the cancellation policy is 24 hours in advance. I did not know they would be ill 24 hours prior to the reservation - but whatever. I was not happy, but did not argue the issue. We were seated, only to find that there was a prefix "Valentine's Day Menu". We thought that was interesting because we had researched the website & menu before the evening, and there was no mention of this menu being the only option for Friday (2/13) night. Even the menu PDF says "Valentine's Day" - there were signs throughout the restaurant noting "Valentine's Day Menu". The server also mentioned that many other patrons were upset. The items on the menu were also priced far higher than the regular menu. So, we were excited to try FARM, arrived to a very sassy attitude (from the host) about the party size, noting that I was going to be charged. Getting to the table to see a modified menu, whose prices were jacked up. The (very sweet) server validated our feelings and confirmed that other patrons were upset, too. We finally just decided to leave. On the way out, the "sassy" host was snarky and mentioned that we would likely be charged again for the remaining guests leaving and not eating. I have pictures of the signs, and screenshots of the website - and I dare FARM to charge me for their false advertising. At least note the website, signage, and OpenTable if you are following modified menus or processes, and train your team better!! We were thrilled to try FARM, and left saying that we would NEVER go back. So disappointed :(

Hubby had the tenderloin breakfast #9 and said it was delicious. Tenderloin was melt in your mouth good. Opt for the 3D fried potatoes instead of hash browns. Great food every time, with plenty of variety. I even strayed from the norm on this visit and ordered the breakfast burrito. To be fair, I prefer the large breakfast platters (and biscuits and gravy) but I knew I had a big lunch ahead so I ordered small. The burrito was great, though the sausage distribution was uneven. Half of it was amazing and full of sausage. The other half less so. My son had on of the platters and I apologize for forgetting the name, but it was ham, eggs hash browns and toast. Loved it of course, and probably would have ordered more if I let him! Service always quick and friendly, and it's a place we repeat often.

We first got sat at a booth around our other 20 friends, only to be told our party of five needs to move to the other side of the restaurant. Then my wife went to the car and noticed a homeless gentleman outside. She came in and because of the heat asked if she could buy a drink in a to-go cup. The waitress asked if it were for the homeless guy outside, my wife says "yes". Waitress says "no I'm not selling you a drink for that man outside. I'm glad you told me that's what it would be for." Storming away from taking out orders, and goes outside yelling at the man who wasn't even out front of her restaurant, but down towards the corner of the building. Telling him she's calling the police. This all while I'm flabbergasted that she's doing this knowing I followed her to the door witnessing her behavior. She then came in and called 911. I went back to my seat where our group was appalled by what we seen and had no choice but to leave. The others in our group had already ordered otherwise they would have lost all 30 of our party. I can't reward an establishment that can't even be a decent human being. I hope this review sheds light on what kind of establishment they are, and hope they learn to be inclusive of all society

Long ago, Dats used to be Yats, but while retaining the Yats format, they changed. It's not quite as good as Yats in Indy but it's still pretty good. This is inside of a tiny market, and they serve Middle Eastern foods, too. We ordered Cajun, a Thai Chili ettouffe and another with spinach artichoke and crawdad etouffe. These are served over rice, and come with garlic bread. These had been simmering for a while but were still pretty flavorful. Unlike Yats, there aren't a selection of hot sauces, but they were pretty nicely-spiced. Warn them if you can't handle spice. You get a beverage from a cooler, and many are available. There are seats for about 25 or so inside, more outside. The price isn't high for this restaurant row. Parking on the street costs money, unless it's Sunday. It's low-key, reasonably good food and a wide variety of it. We'll be back to try the Middle Eastern items, like falafel. The store is somewhat tiny and caters to Middle Eastern and South Asian tastes, with a few Latin additions. It's like a bodega in some ways, perhaps Bloomington's version of a deli with seats and variety.

It's possible it was the tea itself that didn't taste how I expected, but it kind of tasted like I was getting the flavour of a different tea in the pot. Breakfast: Apple pancake and bouquet latte (seasonal special - lavender Ceylon tea latte with honey and rose syrup). The bouquet latte was wonderful and had this beautiful red swirl latte art. The pancake was nice and fluffy. One pancake is something like $5, but one is enough for a complete meal, maybe with a protein side if you're especially hungry.
