Took my Fifth Wheel there for brakes after Bobby Waynes said there was nothing wrong. Bob Howles found wheel hub loose and the grease job that was done at Bobby Waynes had a bad race seat. Which now cause wheel hubs to be replaced because 1 was damaged along with the brakes. Oh by the way it was fixed in 2 days. Bobby Waynes had it 4 weeks and screwed it up. read more

Absolutely love these guys! We've taken our RV and our cars to Bob and Mike and have been absolutely appreciative of their great work each time. Other repair shops will simply remove and replace a part hoping that fixes the problem...only to find out that wasn't it and force you to keep replacing parts until the problem goes away. I had a issue with the brakes on my Toy Hauler trailer. I found this place from an internet search, and I am glad I did. You are checked in by the owner, he takes his time explaining everything to you, and took my RV in right away. Didn't hesitate about billing my extended warranty as a lot of other shops do, and I had my trailer back in 3 days, not 3 months like the dealer. He stayed late after closing time to check me in. Very clean shop with professional mechanics. One thing I really liked, is I got my trailer back without a bunch of greasy hand prints on it. That little thing shows mechanics that actually have a little pride in their work. I didn't spend a lot of time in the office, but their parts department looks well stocked. Came here after seeing positive Yelp reviews. My trailer was having problems with the wiring. My grandfather had a wire running outside of the trailer to replace a bad right turn signal wire inside so that needed to be fixed. Arrived and the guys were pretty helpful. They said they could do the wiring job and ran through a few other things the trailer needed (new lanyard and new chain). I gave the okay on fixing those as well. Received a quote of $250 and an estimate of a few days for the repairs to be done. Three days went by and I heard nothing so I called to inquire about my trailer. Apparently, it hadn't been touched yet. Fortunately I wasn't in any rush so I told them to just keep me updated on when it would be finished. A week went by and again nothing. I was about to go out of town so I called again to ask what the hold up was and whether the trailer was ready or not. Again, hadn't been worked on and wasn't going to be ready before my trip. After explaining I wouldn't be able to pick it up until I came back I asked whether it would be ready when I got back into town (my trip was 10 days long). Guaranteed it would definitely be ready. Well... Tuesday comes along and I'm back in town. I call and my trailer isn't ready. Apparently some testing tool broke so they have been waiting on a new part. I ask them for another estimate on when exactly I'm getting my trailer back as it's almost been 3 weeks. I am told to give them another couple of days. Finally receive a call on Wednesday telling me my trailer is good to go. I call back to reconfirm that and I am told they did additional work on it. More wiring, replaced lights and light bulbs, etc. Sounds like this is going to cost me more so when I ask how much is my new total I am told $950.00. You can imagine my absolute horror... Now, I'm not so much upset about the work as I am about the complete lack of communication which is where I dock stars. I should've been given a call before they went WAY over my initial quote on work I didn't even authorize. Bob was apologetic and he reduced the price to $615.00 saying he wanted my trailer to be road safe so he went on ahead and authorized the work for me. I sort of feel as if I were ripped off a little (the initial quote prices don't even match the final quote prices) but the work they DID do on the trailer was good and I can see it's going to last awhile and they took clear pride in their work. Still on the fence about recommending my friends. There is being prepared for labor to go a bit over the initial quote (which I expected) and being totally raped and raked over the coals with a total which more than tripled the initial quote. Plus the sitting on the trailer for two weeks before even looking at it. Take what you will from my experience and decide for yourself. read more

We made an appointment to have some major work on our RV before we went on a cross country road trip. Roof repair, replace the toilet seal up locations on the RV that rodents were coming into the coach. We dropped off the RV for said repair. When we went to pick up our RV the first thing we noticed was a long scratch running along the right side. They denied it happened under their care. Looked like the mechanic did it with his toolbox. Again they denied it happened at their shop. I climbed up on the roof and was not happy with what I saw. They ran silicone along the seam and called it a day. The material had wrinkles that they didn't stretch out. To say the least. The roof repair failed by the time we got to Arizona. I had to go into a Ace hardware store and buy supplies and did a better roadside repair that what Bob Howl did. Very disappointed with this shop and their ability to do RV repairs. The only thing that is working properly is the toilet. I do not recommend this repair shop. Cost me big $$$ only to have to do the repairs over again. And the paint is going to cost me even more. Bob Howle, Mike and crew do auto repair the way it should be done: properly diagnose the problem, and then fix it with the best quality parts using the best trained mechanics. It's not cheap in the short run, but this way of doing auto repair actually IS cheaper in the long run. Let me explain. Cutting corners - not properly diagnosing the real problem, using substandard parts, not keeping your mechanic staff up to date on training - actually takes more time to properly diagnose, more time to replace the substandard shoddy parts that don't last long, and more time for the mechanic to fix what's going on because they aren't aware of the correct information to properly repair the problem. This adds up to extra auto repair expenses done this way. So actually, the way Bob Howle does it is the moneysaving way, and the way of less overall auto repair expense. My most recent experience is with a car I got via marriage: a Kia Optima. I can't recommend the car at all - too many parts and switches, etc. breaking and not working, even while under warranty, and now that the vehicle has over 100,000 miles, some engine parts have had to be replaced beyond normal expected items, like the battery and brakes. A/C compressor, coils, and thermostat and radiator. For the thermostat, they installed the quality part vs. the cheap part, costing $18 more but less labor down the road by not having to repair and replace a substandard thermostat. Same with the radiator. A plastic one that hopefully will not crack like the original sheet metal one, and thus save money down the road. Does the plastic radiator cost more? Around 90 bucks more. But less money in parts and labor down the road by installing a part that hopefully will last the car a long time. Hopefully. . . If you ask, they will gladly call a rental car agency and get you rolling in the interim. They'll even drive you home if that's what you want. There's all kinds of parts replacers masquerading as auto mechanic shops here in the Antelope Valley. This isn't one of them. It doesn't take much talent to replace parts, and via the hit and miss method, repair cars. It DOES take talent to accurately diagnose correctly the first time what's wrong with your car, and fix it right. That's what Bob Howle Automotive offers. Highly recommended, and you won't go wrong going here. read more

I bought a "New to me" RV and camped locally, to see what needed repaired. I knew it needed to be smogged and the brakes adjusted (last owner said he just put new ones on) but a little spongy for my taste. Plus the ABS light came on when i was coming home. I called and made an appointment with Bob Howle RV for these repairs plus a few other things. 3 weeks later i get a call that all was fixed and ready for pickup, NOT!! After paying almost $1,000.00, I got 1/2 mile away and turned on the radio, NOTHING! Pulled over and tried again, still NOTHING! Tried the fan, NOTHING! Plus, ABS light was STILL on. WTF? Went straight back to Bob Howle RV. Well, after 2 more hours, they figure out that when they removed the steering wheel cover, wires came loose/off that they didn't reconnect. And, according to the computer, ABS light on because 1 of 3 sensors went out, "It'll be another $3-500.00, want us to fix it?" Not now! I wanted it fixed before but, NOT NOW! NOT BY YOU! Mr. Bob said I needed a new truck battery, $270 + tax and installation. While they were updating my invoice, I called Wal-Mart for battery quote, $107.00 + tax, install FREE, same battery, same brand. Mr. Bob Howle asked if i wanted him to add it to the invoice for the 2 hours labor they just did? WHAT? $234.00 to fix what you broke? I may be new to RVing but, I'm not new to CREEPS that overcharge!! No new battery. No new invoice to fix what you broke! And I've made an appointment to have my brakes fixed by someone who knows what they are doing!! Save your time and money, GO SOME PLACE ELSE!! Some place that does the job you asked them to do and doesn't try to charge for THEIR MISTAKES!! read more

While driving our motorhome through the desert 300 miles from home, we were running our rooftop air conditioners when the Onan generator started surging again and quit. We found Bob Howle Automotive and RV Repair online and was told on the phone they'd take a look at it. Not only did they diagnose the problem while we waited, they also said the spare tire under our Class A motorhome was in danger of falling to the pavement and secured it before it caused a MAJOR problem. You may want to consider another RV repair facility. I know other people have had great results with these guys, but I can't recommend this facility. I took my RV to this facility three times with varying degrees of satisfaction. The first time I got great results. The second time they misdiagnosed the problem. The third time they broke a pipe while making another repair, then turned around and charged me for the pipe repair. There won't be a fourth time. read more
