Did work on my car that was mostly not needed to fix the problem. They suggested to bring it in to do more work. I had another shop look at it and said what they suggested still would not have fixed the problem. The other shop fixed it quickly and cheaply. Don't take your car here unless you have money to throw away on needless repairs. read more

G&S has always had a great reputation! I have a 2016 Corvette that needed needed maintenance on the Transmission I was given a quote and said ok that's fair. When I arrived found out they moved and no one told! The new business that took the location advised me of their move. Once arriving to G&S I found out the business was sold. The girl at the counter was assisting me when another man walked in, she told me to wait while she billed him out! What how long does it take to drop off a car? That was rude! Then I verified that the Trans fluid & filter would be changed. She said she would have to update the quote as she did not included in the price. I said ok if she could update the quote and email it to me? She emailed me the new quote adding $400 to the bill for a Trans filter change!!! Stay away from this business!!! G & S Auto Repair has worked on my 2005 Toyota Sequoia several times. My best friends family always took their cars there and said they were always amazing to work with. He has done tune-ups, oil changes, battery replacement, brakes and more. They are by far the most honest and fare priced mechanic I have ever dealt with. The last time I brought my Sequoia in he charged my battery and wanted to make sure my alternator was good so he kept it overnight. After making sure the battery held a charge and everything was good he wound up not even charging me a dime. The other times I took it in they beat other mechanics prices by a lot. I broke down in Palmdale, as an out of towner I did not know any shops to take my car to so I came up here and found G&S with the highest rating. Now we all know that you can't alweays trust the reviews here but in this case...you most definitely can!!!! I had my car towed to their shop, explained that I spoke to my mechanic in my hometown and he said it could be the coil or possibly the dirtributor and for them to start there. Well within 1 hour I got a call from G&S and they told me it was just the rotor in the distributor and that the car would be ready in a half hour. They did not try and sell me a new distributor as I know some places would have. They cleaned out my distributor put in the new rotor and sent me on my way...less than $90 and 1.5 hours...Fast and extremely honest group. I make regular trips to Palmdale and you can bet if I run into trouble again, this is where I will go. Thanks!!!!!! read more

The rear main seal on my jeep was replaced on time and for a very fair price. Michelle the service advisor was very good. The technician came out to speak with me. The shop is clean and well organized. I'm so glad i found this auto repair because there are a lot of shops in Palmdale that are not trustworthy. The legal paperwork is spot on for the consumer. For the work they did for me on my deathtrap in 2011, I am very thankful though it continued to break down; it was an older car so I won't fault them for not having the capability to fix it. However, my recent experience was pretty horrible. When I initially came in last Friday, a friendly older gentleman (I assume the owner) assisted me. He left after taking my information and Michelle came in and asked me for the exact same information all over again. It took an hour just for me to get the amount I owed for a diagnostics test and to input my information; I found it weird that they asked me to give my information twice but I didn't want to be an asshole to the people who had my car's life in their hands so I said nothing about it and left. The confusion and unpleasantness came when I was trying to pay for my services and get my car to a transmissions shop. She was very rude and nasty saying there was a lot of back and forth (though I literally only spoke to her 3 times: once when I was giving her my info in person, again when she called and went over what was wrong with the car later that evening, and lastly when I called on 10/10 to ask about paying over the phone) and she spoke with my mother who hung up on her and so and so. My mother was wrong for the attitude and for hanging up but so was this business in letting this woman represent them; she literally said its not her problem which is the complete opposite of what customer service is about. I just don't understand why it matters who's paying and how they're paying as long as G&S Auto Repair is getting paid (especially when they KNOW these people are my parents); what we were asking to do was simple and they've allowed my parents to do it numerous times in the last 8 or 9 years they've been customers (which they no longer are after yesterday). My mom was just trying to call and pay using the money I transferred to her account and if that wasn't something they do, then they should've never allowed it in the past. The real kicker is she couldn't explain to me why it was such an inconvenience to them. Was there a fee charged to the business for it, was it illegal? Who knows I guess Michelle just decided that day she didn't feel like it. read more

We have used G & S auto repair once before & had a good expierence,so we decided to take our Jeep to them for a diagnosis & repair,we dropped off the Jeep at 10am & they said they would call with the problem & an estimate.By 4pm we never received a call,so we called them & they said they did not get a chance to even look at the Jeep because they had no lift available.We were not real happy about that but we still left the Jeep there hoping to hear some news in the am,which they said they would call by 10am.Never got a call by 11am,so we called them & they said it was a rear main seal & oil pan gasket leak & they would have to send out our transmission if we wanted to replace seals in it at the same time ($250.00 later) anyway the total was $1300.00.We told them we were going to pick up the Jeep & get a second opinion.We took the jeep to Quartz Hill automotive at 12pm & they repaired it & we had it back by 4:30pm.The only thing wrong with the vechicle was an oil pan gasket total $425.00 total.G & S tried to RIP us off,they are total crooks! we highly recommend Quartz Hill automotive & stay away from G & S!!!! read more
