Worth the drive! My wife and I went there recently when we were in that part of the state, and we can tell you, this place is the real stuff. As I recall, we had the beef brisket, the wings, and of course the pork ribs. (Like Eve, my wife wouldn't consider it the real experience without ribs!) The meat was already so perfectly seasoned that I almost hated to put any barbecue sauce on it. So good! That's about the highest compliment I can imagine giving any place. That's not to say their barbecue sauce wasn't also delicious--it's great! They actually have a whole range of different styles of sauces. Do what we did, dine in and sample the whole sauce lineup. My wife also gave them her highest compliment: While we were eating, she said something like, "This may be the best barbecue I've ever tasted." My wife has become a real barbecue connoisseur, with strong opinions on different barbecue places; coming from her, this means a lot. What's worse than being in a hangry episode? Trying a new to you restaurant and getting whatever that was. Driest meat that we've ever had. I had to drown mine in ketchup and take a drink of water with each bite to swallow. The macaroni and cheese was definitely plastic-y in consistency and taste which again needed ketchup. The corn casserole was super eggy and if you're thinking that old school sweet version, this ain't it. The only bright spot were the cheese potatoes which were really good. Good enough to come back for? No but that's definitely the side I would choose. Oh and size of sides compared to price was definitely no value when you're buying sides to try in addition to your meal. Order was late and tasted like it had been sitting. We've tried this business a few times and the quality is never anywhere near what the cost should dictate. 2 hotdog sized sausages with nothing else is $11 and then the order has never been correct. Today we called asking to be credited for a side they left out of the order but were charged for and the only thing we received was a rude manager telling us to they don't care to check the orders it's up to the customer to make sure everything they ordered is in the bag when they pick it up. Delicious! The usual Barbeque food yet with several creative and tasty options. All the sauces were very good different, making it hard to choose a favorite. I ordered the smoked pulled chicken sandwich, baked beans, and a cup of brisket chili to share. I ended up eating all the chili myself. Checked on their Food Truck today. Talked with Tim. Said they have been in business fy about 3 1/2 yrs. Ordered the Mac and Moo sandwich. It had big thick brisket, you taste the pepper from the bark, it was nice and moist. A little lacking in the smoke flavor though. It also had some very cheesy Mac n cheese, also fried onions on toasted bread. Very filling sandwich. Also had the Cole slaw which is made with mayo and vinegar, had a nice smooth taste to it. Also got the cornbread pudding which is similar to what City BBQ makes, just a little dry but it did have all the main ingredients for it. read more

I'll save you the 20 minute dissertation. I ordered the Bob's Mac & Moo and it had me at first bite. I went to my happy place somehow ended up in a magical world of exciting beef brisket and macaroni with sautéed onions, the flavors that I just wasn't expecting in this combination. When I came back to the real world I looked down and my sandwich was gone. Was awesome while it lasted, I actually went back and ordered another one. Visited the food truck near my work space. The staff was very friendly and prompt on the service. I wish I been there closer to opening. I followed the advice of John M. and had the Mac & Moo and no side. I felt the side was already on the sandwich. I was first impressed by the weight of just a sandwich being handed to me. Then I noticed that the sandwich was wrapped up inside the paper boat. Thank you for keeping my food hot until I get to where I am going to eat it. Bread was thick enough and grilled to prevent sogginess. The meat was tender with a slight smokey taste. I could have prefered a spicier sauce option. There was a generous portion of meat and mac & cheese. I like mine cheesy gooey, this was not. Little bit on the drier, clumps of cheese hanging on consistency. This often happens if I'm the last scoop from the pan. So pay attention to the consistency in the different photos. I also would have gone with a simple bag of chips, yet not offered. 3 other coworkers had the Reuben, and wanted me to make sure everyone knew it was excellent. The slaw was a good compliment. Effing delicious. Not too many BBQ stands and trucks have won my heart as much as Bob's has. A lot of the past trucks I have had that cater to BBQ have left me incredibly underwhelmed and headed for the hills when I see them rollin' when I expect a good product and people who know how to cook some meat and instead get some massively sloppy sauce fest with stringy meat bits. The pricing here is average pricing for food truck, and I will gladly lay down my Alexander Hamilton for a sandwich and side here, because it's worth it. These guys know what they're doing, and they keep it to a good science here. I went for the Brisket Sandwich, which was Brisket meat, grilled onions, and my choice of sauce (Sweet & spicy FTW) in between two perfectly grilled pieces of Texas toast. Follow that up with one of their sides, and Oh Mammy, you have got a delicious lunch in hand. I will say, my only let down was the coleslaw. It was made with love... I can tell. It wasn't mass bought in, but it just lacked a lot of flavor and sweetness. I would pass that up and hit the mac n cheese or corn casserole next time. Something else that is peculiar, but gratefully accepted is they give you nice napkins here. They don't trust you enough to get your own, because you like to kill trees and they like to save money, but they gave me the perfect amount of paper for my face wipage. They know... they just get it! Stop at this truck and try it. I'm not 100% if I can call these guys better than some of the brick and mortar joints, but they have a good thing going, and I am definitely going back! Seeing that Bob's was going to be near my place of work, I looked up their Yelp reviews and was thoroughly impressed with their 4.5 star total rating. I ordered the all dressed up pulled pork sandwich which consisted of 2 pieces of lightly toasted Texas toast, caramalized onions, cheese, and a decent amount of pulled pork. The sandwich itself was delicious. Unfortunately it wasn't very big and for the $8 price tag, I just cannot recommend the value. I enjoyed the sandwich, but was still hungry after my lunch. I was pleasantly surprised by Bob's. It is a laid back place, especially considering I arrived about 1240 on Monday. Nice staff. They were training a new person for the counter. The beef was really done right. The Lancaster sauce was good. I also had pulled pork, which was also good. The Corn Casserole was okay. Seemed a bit dry for that dish and more like crumbled up cornbread. I don't mind that and I ended up combining with my baked beans. Let me spend a minute on those beans! I have never had baked beans with cinnamon in them. That was fantastic! Reminded me of a warm cookie. The brown sugar and the beans along with that new flavor for me was unbelievable. When I got about half of them gone and half of the corn casserole, I thought, "why not? Let's see what they are like together!" That was practically dessert. We had our first experience with Bob's at Rockside Winery, where they had their food truck. Now they have a restaurant in downtown Lancaster. The BBQ is excellent and they give you generous portions. Juicy BBQ- no sauce needed! The interior is small. Seat yourself, order at the counter. No kids menu, but no restrictions on plate sharing. The fries were mediocre, the mac and cheese was stringy rather than creamy, the corn casserole was pretty good. But man was the pulled pork excellent.
