This experienced happened in December and I gave the company a good period of time to respond to me and they haven't, so I'm putting my warning out to any new potential shoppers. TLDR: They do not put the proper prices on their tags so when you arrive at the register they expect you to pay a higher amount than indicated on the tag because they have to "go by the price in the system." They hands down have one of the best ski/snowboard apparel selections in all of CT, but with shady pricing like this, I'll take my business elsewhere. In the end I found the same items I was looking for at a place in PA. This is my email complaint: "I just spent about an hour and a half in your Avon store. I had a wonderful experience with the gentleman helping me decide between two different sets of ski pants and jackets. After working it through with him to decide on the final choices I went to the register. I purchased pants and a jacket totaling $620 then I realized that the jacket came up priced at $60 more than it should have. The tag on the jacket says $300 and your system said $360. The person who was ringing me out would not honor the $300 price as shown on the tag. As a result, I returned the entire order. And I'm very disappointed in my experience. I've purchased from you before and I appreciate the large selection of options that you have and I'm really disappointed that because the price was not marked appropriately that I would be the one that would take the hit and not you. read more

Bob's Sport Chalet, STAY AWAY, don't do business with this creepy owner. I ordered two very expensive items and they never arrived. I contacted customer service and the same person, a man always answers the phone. I'm assuming it's the owner. He told me he would check on the order and get back to me. He never got back to me. Weeks went by and finally I contacted my credit card company and filed a dispute. I just happened to be at the post office picking up another package and when they went back to get it, when they came back out the postal worker said "oh do you know you have another package here for you?" The package from Bob's Sport Chalet had been sitting at the post office for weeks. The man in Customer Service never followed up on the package and it's whereabouts. I immediately contacted customer service at Bob's Sport Chalet and was treated extremely rude and yelled at by the same man that I spoke to in the beginning. (The Owner). Bob's Sports Chalet is owned and managed by Bill and Belinda Gonsalves of Bristol CT. The success of the business is by emphasizing the quality of service. I can't believe they have the nerve to put this in their ads in on their website. He very specifically said he would not give me a refund and they don't deal with people who file a dispute. He hung up the phone. I called back numerous times only to be hung up on again and be cursed out. He's a despicable man and a bully! I'm out almost $500, no fault of my own. The owner didn't care that the items were brand new packages and were sitting at the post office and it was not my fault that they were never delivered. I had every right to file a dispute. This is a horrible business and as you can see if you read the other yelp reviews, it's happened to many others. Please stay as far away from this company as possible, if you value your money and have any Integrity. This company doesn't care about their customers at all! read more

A friend of mine recommended this shop to me for purchasing the ski boots that she knew I needed, since her husband had been so impressed with the shop when he bought new boots there several weeks ago. For both of us, this shop is far from the closest, being almost an hour's drive from our houses. But the long drive was well worth it. I have been skiing for 53 years, and I have never been in a ski shop that had such extensive inventory, and more importantly, such incredible customer service. As my friend recommended, I asked for Edge, their most experienced boot fitter. He was so knowledgeable and patient and explained the pros and cons of each selection. Also - importantly - he did not try to "up sell" me: when available, he pointed out sale items that were from the previous ski season that would be good substitutes for the more expensive current season items. My skis will be ready for pick up in a couple of weeks, and I am looking forward to returning so I can peruse the helmets, clothing, ski googles and other items I didn't have time to look at on my first trip! read more

BUYER BEWARE: Items shown on the website for order are not items Bob's Sport Chalet actually has. One week after my order was made I still had no order updates so I reached out for information. I was told to continue waiting at least 7 business days for an order upstate. After a second week with no updates had passed I emailed again. I was told they didn't have the item I ordered and thankfully they refunded me. It seems Iike a good business would know if they can fulfill an order before 2 weeks have gone by. In addition, had I not reached out several times I'm sure I would have heard nothing from Bob's Sport Chalet. Also, several fraudulent charges were made on my credit card after I ordered at Bob's Sport Chalet. My credit card company is investigating and I have contacted the BBB. read more

Ordered a new hat for my son and they shipped in an envelope so I got totally crushed. Rather than just mailing me a new one in a box like they should've to begin with they had me mail it back to analyze it. Finally they came to their senses and decided to ship me a new one except I never got it in the mail. Now they won't respond to any of my texts at all. I would never ever ever ever buy anything from these guys. I mean it's a simple fix, right? Mailed a hat originally in a box and it wouldn't get destroyed. If you are a person of color do not shop here. I was browsing the store, casually looking for ski gear for my trip. A "helpful" employee approaches me asking if I need assistance. (I was looking at ski gloves). I asked the employee which glove are better QUALITY. I had two gloves in my hand she says, " the pair to the left are cheaper." I then asked where the snow pants where. That followed with, " this section is the cheapest we have." Price was emphasized. I never asked about prices, I asked which gear was of better QUALITY. I felt racially discriminated against. Horrible and terrible customer services. A family member purchased skis, boots, bindings, poles, helmet, etc., at Bob's Sports Chalet, in the end spending close to a thousand dollars here. When they went to return the helmet because the helmet didn't fit, the man at the front inspected the helmet for twenty minutes and accused my family member of wearing the helmet. My family member made it clear that the helmet was NOT WORN AT ALL, but the man at the front made it incredibly uncomfortable as he combed the entire helmet looking for dents. He even pulled back the foam inside the helmet as if trying to find any sort of reason to refuse a return. He continued to berate my family member about the helmet as the line behind my family member began to fill up with customers. Another family member returned a pair of skis to this place after being unsatisfied with their purchase. This family member experienced the same brutal run around by the man at the front. Although it is always in the best interest of our communities to invest and shop at small businesses, Bob's Sports Chalet has now lost our business. Why would we ever shop at a place where we are verbally abused over a purchase rather than given a return? Especially a business where we purchased a lot of expensive equipment. Had this been REI, Dick's or Backcountry, a return would have been made immediately with out any fuss. If Bob's Sports Chalet's entire revenue hinges on the return of a $70 ski helmet, then the owner should take a look at the books before they go bankrupt. read more

I had bought a pair of boots last season and when I tried them on this season they were cutting off my circulation to my toes. As I spoke with Edge he was able to explain why and I was able to get them molded to my feet. They feel amazing now and I can't thank him enough! read more
