THANK YOU BOB SMITH BMW!!!!!!!! YOU WERE PIVOTAL IN HELPING ME SEE CLEARLY THAT LEXUS (TOYOTA) IS A MUCH BETTER BRAND!!! IM SO GRATEFUL THAT IN THE 2 Cars that I bought from you you were significant in helping me see the light of how trashy BMWs are after they go over 50,000 miles. I've had 3 BMWs over the last 9 years and 2 I bought from Bob smith. My last car I bought in 2023 was a 530i whose transmission literally fell out while driving at 60,000 miles, just 8 months after I bought it. Had to wait 3 weeks for a part and the GM wouldn't give me a loaner. They only gave me $150 for wasted time. And that was like pulling teeth Multiple other issues as well: power steering gone, hand brake on 320i broken, throttle body issues etc SO THANK YOU FOR HELPING ME TO SEE THE LIGHT ON BMWs. They are made to break down. Lexus (Toyota) are built to last! And look at the reply from the guy below. Clearly did not read the review I wrote. And who's John? lol Anyway, thank you Bob Smith in helping me see how LEXUS is so much better

Bob Smith BMW is not the closest dealership to our home but we decided to follow our sales person, Martik Gharibian, when he moved. He gave us such great service on our previous leases and we trusted that he would look after us. Everyone was very friendly and helpful at Bob Smith. I do like their new 'One' program where you work with your sales person from start to finish. It is a much more pleasant and less pushy experience. Martik exceeded our expectations here and really showed that he wanted to help us get into our new cars with little stress. There is also a small cafe for you to purchase food so that you don't start getting hangry. In general, it did not feel like a stuffy dealership. Austin helped go through the set up for both vehicles and made the whole process so seamless. The tech aspects of the car can be glitchy but he answered all of our questions and was very patient. We will definitely work with Martik again. We have known him for three years now and he always responds to our text messages quickly. He truly believes in customer service and will try to help whenever he can.

Bought my car about 3-4 months ago, all I can say is that I love the car and the experience was memorable! The staff and my dealer, Tameem, made the purchase easy for me and I can definitely say this is a go-to spot for any future purchases. I wish the location was closer as I would definitely visit it often for any questions but I would recommend this spot for anyone in the market for a BMW!

paint peeling after 1 month of ownership

I am extremely disappointed that Bob Smith BMW failed to disclose that the used vehicle I purchased had a repainted front bumper. I purchased the car on January 23, 2026, and after just one rainstorm, the paint is already peeling. That is unacceptable and indicates poor prior repair work. Your dealership had the opportunity to disclose that the front bumper had been repainted, and you did not. That is a clear failure to disclose material information that would have affected my purchasing decision. If you stand behind your vehicles and value your customers, I expect you to repair and properly repaint the bumper at your expense. This is a straightforward solution to a problem that could have been avoided with simple transparency at the time of sale. I have already filed a complaint with the State of California outlining this issue. However, I am still giving your dealership the opportunity to resolve this matter directly and professionally. All that was required was disclosure. That did not happen. Now I expect the issue to be corrected. I will continue to pursue this matter until the bumper is properly repaired. The responsibility here is clear Sent to the State for review: I am filing a formal complaint against Bob Smith BMW regarding a vehicle purchase made on January 23, 2026. On that date, I purchased a 2022 Subaru from the dealership. At no point during the sales process was I informed that the front bumper and passenger door had previously been repainted or refurbished. Within one month of purchase, the paint on the front bumper began peeling, revealing what appears to be prior repair work. Had I been informed that these panels had been repainted, I would have reconsidered purchasing the vehicle or negotiated differently. The failure to disclose prior bodywork deprived me of the opportunity to make an informed decision as a consumer. I have contacted the dealership and requested that they correct the issue. As of this filing, I have received no response. Selling a vehicle with undisclosed prior repainting or body repairs is misleading and unacceptable. Given that the defect surfaced within one month of purchase, I believe the dealership bears responsibility for correcting it. I am requesting that the appropriate state agency investigate this matter and require the dealership to either: Properly repaint and repair the front bumper at no cost to me. I am seeking a fair resolution and accountability for the dealership's failure to disclose material information at the time of sale.

I want to begin this review by stating that I've leased and purchased multiple vehicles from this dealership over the years and everyone I've worked with has been fantastic. This review was not due to a specific individual. This review is due to Bob Smith BMWs use of CARFAX as their source of truth. In 2017 I purchased a CPO 2014 BMW from this dealership. At the time of purchase a CARFAX was provided by the dealership (see attached photos) showing the car had not been in any accidents in the last three years and had a clean title. Wonderful, lets move forward with the sale, all was well. Fast forward to my recent trade in of the CPO 2014 BMW and purchase of a CPO 2022 BMW. During the inspection of my old vehicle they suddenly found issues with the paint. Why was this not discovered during their CPO process? They then provided an updated CARFAX showing the car was indeed in an accident before my purchase in 2017. Now, before the dealership responds and says its out of their hands due to the CARFAX not being updated, they refused to adjust the price of the trade in or drop the price of the new purchase to compensate. They basically told me to eat a dick, just not in those words. This dealership not only overcharged me for my previous vehicle, they also devalued my trade in. They essentially stole thousands of dollars from me. Moral of the story here is do NOT buy CPOs from this dealership. They're not certified (eg, paint detection detailed above), and their use of CARFAX as a source of truth is equivalent to dogshit.

Looking for a CPO on a 3 Series, with very specific needs (interior and exterior options, NAV, back-up camera, etc). We shopped five dealers with mixed results (amazing how you almost have to beg a salesperson to call you and then follow-up). Great experience with Bob Smith, thanks to Matt Smith and our sales rep, Cole Vandewoestyne. The deal got done with little stress and a lot of excitement for my sister, its new owner. I sent in a request to see if the X3 I was interested was available. Justin responded quickly and we were able to set up a test drive for a few hours later. Upon arriving everyone was so hospitable. Justin and Nick helped us out and everything was amazing. We had our toddler with us and Justin showed her the toddler cars and brought her crayons with a coloring book while Nick helped us with the everything from the test drive, to getting a quote for our trade-in, to answering our questions through the very end of making a purchase. Nick was so understanding that we had to entertain our toddler while making the purchase and made sure he answered all our questions and made the process quick and painless. I definitely recommend coming here for your BMW needs and having Justin and/or Nick help you out. read more

Their service dept is excellent and kind. This is by far the best dealership and I wouldn't get my cars from anyone else. They treat you like family and don't let you leave till your happy. Wayne Lewis sold me my car and he was so helpful and got me the best deal and was amazing. He's such a nice guy and took his time with me and made sure i was happy . He's the guy to go to. So, first of all, I don't have a BMW. I have a Mini but the dealership next door has been converted to a Volvo. I needed some services done on my Mini so we ended up at Bob Smith BMW. My husband dropped off my car, dealt with the paperwork and paid for everything online. My job was to simply pick up the car. I showed up, in my work clothes, which is usually a hoodie, t-shirt and khaki's with running shoes. I looked frumpy to say the least. My husband said to drop off our loaner Mini in the service lane. I parked it in the next available spot and had my backpack and lunch bag with me so I pretty much looked like a student. No one outside, in a black polo with Bob Smith BMW even acknowledged me. I walked in and saw the receptionist who was very nice and greeted me with a smile. I was pretty lost since my husband usually does this kind of stuff but she redirected me to the cashier. I wasn't helped right away because a man, in a very nice suit, seemed to have their attention over me. I was finally helped, and given some papers to sign. I told the girls that my husband had paid for everything online so I should have no balance to pay. I think everyone is still getting accustomed to Mini customers showing up. After being given my receipt, I was told to go sit on the bench outside. One guy approached me and asked for my paperwork and he said he was gonna go find my car. Cool. Shouldn't be too long because I have to get to work soon. Mind you, I left with what should've been plenty of time. There was another man that approached me and I told him that someone had taken my papers to find my car. He was like, okay, cool, let's find your car. He asked me what my car looked like and I pointed at a Mini just like mine, but I have two magnets on the back. I waited. Started texting my husband. He was wondering why I was still waiting. I got a text that our service manager was Rob and that if there were any issues, he could text him. I think it had almost been 30 minutes and I still didn't have my Mini! Now, this one gentleman that had been wandering around made a comment about my car being lost. Let's just say that I have bad anxiety at times and that was when I felt it climbing. I let him know that maybe my car was being washed which happened to be a huge hint for him on where my car could be. Apparently, my car was in a lot, surrounded by a bunch of others. My husband had me tell him that I was leaving home so that he could let them know at Bob Smith BMW that I was on my way, and to have my car ready. That wasn't the case at all. I left, almost on the verge of an anxiety attack, because my car took forever to be found and I was about to be late for work. Let's just say that I did not enjoy my time there and I never want to go back. read more

First Problem: I purchased my BMW in August 2018. Right before choosing my vehicle, during the paperwork process as well as afterwards, I let the salesman know I did not want to go with BMW financial institution. I already had a better rate with my bank in which I've been with over 30 years. The salesman delayed the process of returning information back to my financial institution for 2 months which led to me having to make payments to their financial place until I was able to fix their mistake and turn it over to my bank. Second Problem: On the day of purchase, I was promised by the salesman that a spare key would be sent to me. I contacted the salesman several times and eventually he told me he would overnight it to me in which he never did. I eventually told the salesman I would drive down to the dealership, which is 2 hours away from my home, to pick up the key. He had one week notice of me coming down. When I picked up the key the salesman said he wasn't able to program the key and that I needed to take the key to another dealer to have it programmed. Third Problem: Both of my rear tires are bald, so I went to purchase new tires for my vehicle. Apparently there is a wheel lock key that is needed to take off the wheels, which I was never given, in order to install the new tires. I tried calling multiple times from morning till evening and was constantly placed on hold. I have a pair of $600 tires waiting to be installed but can't be until someone contacts me to send me this wheel lock key. In conclusion: This dealership continues to let me down which is a strong pill to swallow since a lot of money is involved here. I strongly do not recommend this dealer. Who knows, you may have a better experience but why take a risk. I will be purchasing another BMW next year and will not bring my business here. I expected more from Bob Smith BMW but sadly it was the worst dealership/purchaser experience to date. read more

I want to start off by saying I haven't been to a lot of dealerships to buy cars before, but i have tagged along maybe 2 or 3 times. However, this was my first time at Bob Smith BMW in Calabasas, and it just felt like everyone was happy to be there. From the moment I walked in, i felt welcome and was helped right away. My salesman COLE, was extremely helpful and accommodating. I had scheduled a test drive and even after that there was no push or mention to buy the car or anything. He was waiting for me to make that decision and as soon as I did, he got started on finding the best APR for me. Another important thing was, I came with 3 other people, my parents and sister. Although they could be a little overbearing and talkative, COLE was respectful and well mannered from the beginning to the end. Constantly asking if we needed anything while waiting and making small talk through the process. I truly believe COLE and the team at Bob Smith was a huge reason for me walking out with a new car (CPO car haha). Had a great time at finance with Karen, who was extremely knowledgable and transparent. Her intentions were all pure and had only my best interest in mind when offering warranty packages etc. As a person who does not write reviews I am glad to say that this was one of the best customer service I have received in a long time! If you are looking to buy a car, i recommend a test drive with COLE! I called bmw financial and they told me The dealer has the information. because I purchased 3rd party wear and tear protection from the dealership. There phone system is a nightmare. I have tried for 3 days in a row to talk to a service advisor about my car, have left messages, been transferred in circles just to be left at a random voicemail. 3 days in a row. If I were you I would not call after 3pm, because it seems like nobody answers the phone after that time. I spent a total of 2 hours and 31 minutes on hold over 3 days just to get the status on a fix for my car. They need to figure out a better system. They fixed my car quickly tho. 2/5 read more

Great Experience today with sales representative Nick Amini, he answered my questions and guided me to getting the car that I wanted, I don't usually leave reviews but I specifically left a review because of the fact when Nick was telling me information about the car he wasn't pushy on anything and let me pick out the things I wanted while he gave his friendly opinion on it. When I came inside the store I was looking at a e35 but was notified that it wasn't available and would have to be ordered, Nick guided me on what was available inside the store and even guided me through the customization process on the site. Ended up getting a higher model with the help of a few questions answered by Nick, Overall the whole process was smooth and I would definitely recommend you come to Bob Smith BMW. read more

He profiled my expectations and put me into a car that met my expectations both in style as well budget. I had the pleasure working with Kirsten Lobetta a Sales Manager who took the time to close the sale and put the paperwork together. This is the worst service dealership ever. My 2020 M340i was towed to this dealership because of an alarm issue and should have been a quick and easy fix. no. this dealership did not attempt to even check the car out after sitting in their service lot for 4 business days and after 10 calls to the service center after speaking with a manager, thats when it was finally seen. all of the service techs just said it was being looked at, but i knew it wasnt because my bmw app showed it was never turned on or even unlocked for those 4 days. do not take your car here because they told me that they are very backed up and do not have any loaner vehicles which is nooooo excuse. this dealership should not take more cars in for service if they cant accommodate them. waste of time and money and frustration. Do not take your car here because they don't care about it and will not do their job. Better off going to a bmw shop in the middle of nowhere. They still can't give an ETA and sound like they couldn't care less. read more

Wow! Outstanding customer service from Rey Silva! I couldn't be more pleased and proud to be a BMW owner and have this dealership with Rey around! We all know dealing with car stuff isn't the most fun thing to do. But I'm happy to say it was a pleasure! For starters this was my first time meeting Rey, and coming back to Bob Smith in awhile. I went in on a Saturday as a "walk in". The receptionist Kennedy was friendly and helpful from her welcome greeting and listened to my concerns before assigning me to service advisor supervisor, Rey Silva. The service department was super busy! Every employee there had a customer or was working on something. I waited my turn and meanwhile I looked around and was admiring the remodel of the dealership which is done very nicely! A large service drive up area, inside: a very clean, organized and new service/sales/cashier/retail/customer waiting area. Overall nice remodel! When it was my turn I sat down with Rey. He LISTENED (yes that's in caps because THAT I feel is super important!) He addressed my concerns with my car maintenance needs accurately and effectively. I was in and out of there in a very timely matter considering I had just popped in! He kept me updated about the status of my car and informed me what needed to be done with pricing before proceeding. I appreciated this because there was no surprise costs! It's good to be home again at Bob Smith I hope this continues each time I need to visit! Side note: they have a huge tree that's lit up at night that is just totally amazing! I went to this dealership by appointment for maintenance which I made a while ago for this day to be able to get a loaner car! So after waiting they said sorry we don't take your car insurance which they could Che k with me before ! They offered to get an Uber for me on the house and said when it's time to pick up in the afternoon I could call and ask for another Uber so later when I wanted to return I tried to reach them but no one answered so I had to call a friend to come pick me up and bring me there cuz she was close by and I did not want to wait another 20 minutes for another Uber so I came there they couldn't find my paperwork and said maybe it will be done tomorrow but finally they found it and I could pick it up However my car was so dirty they had promised me a complimentary wash as their service!! So not the best experience for me! read more

If you're looking for a smooth transaction, upfront fees and great service this is the place to go. Ask for Andre Scott and Chase. These guys walked me through buying my car with ease and honesty. They even sent me an Uber when I was approved so I can drive my car off the lot. I needed help with some tech setup and called Chase. My only request was that the process not take an unnecessarily long time because of my pregnancy. Alex then transferred me to Maria, and unfortunately My experience changed completely. From the beginning, she spoke to me in a disrespectful and condescending manner. At one point, she even told me that I probably didn't understand things because of "cultural and language differences." I found that comment extremely offensive and inappropriate. No customer should ever be made to feel judged or stereotyped because of their background or language. I decided that Im not comfortable doing business with a dealership that made me feel discriminated against, so I chose to purchase the same vehicle elsewhere. Domenic said that both he and his mechanic had driven the car and that everything was going okay with the car. When the car arrived, it was a different story. Please see the following. Hello Domenic, I finally picked up the car from the shop on June 17th. It took some time for the shop to have a trusted vendor fabricate a stainless steel header to fit the engine and the turbo. There are no original exhaust manifolds available for a turbo Spider since the company that modified the car in 1981 (Legend Industries) has been out of business for quite a while. There were only about 700 Spiders that got the Legend Turbo modification and not many of them are around any more, so parts for the turbo are non-existent. The header itself was $1,300.00. Along with other ancillary parts and labor, the total cost for that was $2,692.77. Attached are a couple of photos showing the cracked manifold. Another attached photo shows the split heater hose. When I first ran the car up to operating temperature, the coolant was spraying from this hose and there was so much steam coming from under the hood, I at first thought the car was overheating. Fortunately, it was not and the steam was from the coolant spraying on the hot engine. That repair with parts and labor was $139.59. The rear brake calipers were incorrect. The anti rattle springs were incorrectly installed. Parts and labor to replace the calipers was $1,014.71. It was quite evident that when the ignition key was on (whether the car was started or not) the fuel pump was constantly running. Parts and labor to replace the fuel pump relay and repair the wiring totaled $424.17. There were several other issues that needed attention. I understand that it is a 40 year old car and I would expect to find some issues. It was disappointing however that, for instance, you didn't let me know that the radio and speakers were not operable. No big deal. The total charge for parts and labor for the other issues was $1,837.00 which included the stereo, some badging, A/C service, coolant sensor, door guides, windshield washer nozzles and washer hose, and inoperative fog lamp switch. These are issues that might be expected to arise in an older car. $3,847.07 was for issues that you would have easily been aware of if anyone had just started the car and not even driven it. These issues were immediately evident as soon as the car came off the transporter. The failure of the emergency brake was noticed as soon as it came down the ramp and the noise from the engine was so loud that it was clearly evident that the exhaust manifold was cracked. The advisor who initially helped me was very nice and recommended additional service since I was approaching 60,000 miles. I specifically asked about the cost and was told around $500-$600. The written estimate showed $528. When I came to pick up the car, the bill was suddenly over $900. The original advisor had already left, and the person at the counter seemed uninterested in helping. When I questioned the charges, I was told the estimate "didn't include parts." He wasn't joking. On top of that, the electrical issue I originally came in for was never addressed. I was told the battery was fine, and the guy at the counter had no idea what I was talking about. He explained that electrical problems are handled by another department and not by maintenance :-) They even got my name wrong. I ended up paying $844, my issue remains unresolved, but hey, they washed the car ! Poor communication, unexpected charges, and unresolved issues are not what I expect from a dealership service department. Lesson learned -- I won't be back.

If you are concerned about your safety as a woman DON'T WORK WITH WAYNE LEWIS!!!! Many of you will read this and not feel a bit of sympathy for me, but ladies, please, listen! I'll be honest, it has taken me nearly 3 months and several therapy sessions to open a yelp account and write this review. I hope this helps other women who may unfortunately find themselves in my same position. I recently lost my father who was an avid AVID fan of BMW's. I actually learned how to drive in his 1975 BMW 2002. He taught me a lot about these cars throughout the years. In his will, he left me money specifically for my dream car, which at the time is a BMW M4. Not just any M4 though, an M4 CS. Now I know I'll lose some of you there thinking I'm some stuck-up rich gal who hasn't worked for anything, but I can honestly tell you, that couldn't be further from the truth. Regardless of how I make my money, my father worked hard for his and made sure his daughters were taken care of in the event of his untimely death. I was told the Only M4 CS within reasonable driving distance for me was at Bob Smith BMW. Close enough as I border Topanga and Calabasas. The only other 2 I could find were at dealerships in Orange County. I made arrangements with another person from Bob Smith BMW who I will not mention here as they were "fine" to deal with on most fronts, except their response to e-mails wasn't as timely as I'd expect. This person insisted they had a M4 CS in stock and ready to test drive whenever I wanted to come by. I made an appointment for the next day. I arrived as punctual as possible, about 10 minutes early. I was offered coffee at their coffee bar and told to wait here for Wayne. 15 minutes later, from behind me someone asked "you must be Vera?" It was Wayne Lewis. I stood up to shake his hand and he seemed surprised by what greeted him. Not sure if it was the in shape, somewhat attractive woman who makes it a point to take care of herself, or just the fact that I was a woman. He looked, let's say, shocked? Within 5 minutes of our introductory conversation, he called me "hun" at least twice. This didn't sit well with me but I wanted to drive this M4 CS and honor my father. After awkward introductions, Wayne tells me the CS I want to test drive is on the showroom floor and we can look at it but not test drive this exact model, but we can drive another M4 on the lot OR ANOTHER CUSTOMER'S THAT JUST FINISHED SERVICE. Wayne swore he knew the customer well and he/she wouldn't care. I said I wanted to drive the CS and he LAUGHED IN MY FACE. He asked me to come back with him to his desk, which was thankfully in the open. Once we sat down, he asked in a ver hushed voice "why a pretty face like yours needs such a powerful car." I told him it was none of his business and treating me as a weak woman and not a normal customer isn't a good look in an elevated voice. He immediately turned beet red and apologized and tied to SHUSH me. At this time I feel like he realized his mistake and summoned a specialist/tech minion to get the CS out of the show room and on a test drive. We headed out on Mureau Rd. I was impressed with the exhaust sound and acceleration. I even said quietly to myself "dad you'd love this car." Before I could finish that though, I felt a hand on my leg. It was Wayne patting me on the thigh and saying "wow you do know how to drive a car" before a quick uncomfortable squeeze of my same thigh. I immediately asked him never to touch me again in a quite agitated manner. He seemed to brush it off and made a Joe Biden joke about being old school. He then told me to really smash the gas once we got to a straight-away. I was hesitant so, again, he touched me, PUSHING DOWN ON MY LEG/THIGH so I would accelerate faster. At this point I lost it. I slammed on the brakes and pulled to the side of the road. I was hysterical. I told him not to touch me again and if he did I would call the police. He LAUGHED again and tried to play it on the side of being old school. I noted the wedding ring on his finger and asked how his wife would feel. He said "She's comfortable with whatever I have to do to make a sale" and flipping WINKED at me trying to shed some light on his totally unacceptable behavior. I got out of the car and ordered and Uber. After about 5 minutes of Wayne trying to convince me to get back in the car I screamed at him again to leave before I called the police. He seemed to get the point this time around and chirped the tires out of there. If anyone knew of my past in college, you'd understand. No woman should have to go through this. I spoke with a desk deputy at the Lost Hills Sheriff's station and she wasn't sure there was anything they could do as it was more of a civil sexual harassment deal instead of sexual assault. I called and asked to speak to the owner later that day, but apparently getting to Tim Smith requires some sort of miracle. I need a glass of wine or 5 and a Xanax after reliving that. read more

Finally time has come to share my experience this has happened few months ago exactly in October 16th 2023 I went there for a recall on my 2011 328i BMW of course, so I received a call the next day they said that they finishing up with my car on the recall and they recommend like usual they have to sell your stuff or make money some way somehow they recommend the valve cover gaskets to be replaced which is covered under sulev warranty and they told me they'll do it for free even that's was changed not even a year ago but I said okay go ahead and do it, nothing for free they got paid from the manufacturer to do that job anyway I pick up the car the next day, when home which is not even 5 Mi away the next day I was going to work and the check engine light came on, call Bob Smith bmw they told me no problem just bring it in, so the next day I took my car in and they called me the day after they said you valvetronic solenoid is bad need to be replaced and don't worry about it, it's covered under warranty the sulev super ultra low emission vehicle too I said okay great again nothing for free they got their money from the manufacturer again, so just to remember I took the my car twice already first time with the recall and they change the valve cover gasket and the second time the valvetronic solenoid and they never mention anything else and they did their 32 point inspection on the car so the car very much been twice at the dealer so it's perfect ,even the second time they drove the car for 20 mi just to make sure everything runs good on the car no more problems, so like usual I pick up the car drove it home just 5 Mi away and the next day I took the car back with me to work in my way going to work again check engine light came on and the car start acting up missing and kind of also rattling noise in the engine, so like usual the third time in about 10 days . I called Bob Smith BMW and I told them this is what happened oh no problem bring the car in, then after 2 days. I received the call from them they saying they need all the record for the car for the past 8 years record for the oil changes, so just to make the story short I told them what happened they said most likely you have a spun rod bearing. THEY TOLD ME that's normal happens all the TIME. So finally I pick up the car just the day before Christmas last year after I have to go through hell and back getting Carfax to get all the records the oil change records and all the records for the car call the shops to get a printout of the oil change records done in the car almost the past 8 years some , I have to go drive to that shop and get the record from them, I have to call BMW of North America over six times very stupid and ignorant people works there. By the way I am an automotive technician been in a business for over 25 years certified by the state of California to work on any car, that's not includes my training and my degrees in Automotive. I inspect my car thoroughly to see what they did wrong cause the problem with my engine find out there is some metal shaving on the top of the valve cover Where is the valvetronic screws are by number five cylinder where most likely the screws holding the valvetronic got broken they have to drill to get it out not sure how much metal shaving went in the engine cause low oil pressure to wear out number one cylinder rod bearings and I called at least 3 BMW professional technicians of course they don't work for Bob Smith BMW they are professional not like the one at Bob Smith BMW, sometimes they drain the oil in the engine to check there is no debris, also most likely they ran my engine without oil until they figure out they cause a knocking noise or wear out rod bearing in the engine, that's what you gets from Bob Smith BMW and unqualified unprofessional technicians and a liar service writer and ignorant management. Well first off I'm not sure what type of service other people have gotten from this dealership for their car but I needed to post this which I don't usually post on yelp but last week I took my 2006 M5 BMW in because it had an issue it was in limp mode meaning it would not go past 45 miles an hour I needed to find out what was causing this and what it would cost to fix I then received a phone call from the service department telling me well our technician noticed that you have aftermarket air filters on your car and the exhaust system is also aftermarket and before we can pursue the issue any farther those need to be changed back to factory which will cost you $3800 I had told them the car has been driving great for years something just happened this is not because of the air filters and the other thing that they told me about the exhaust system which was a flat out lie because the exhaust system on the car is the factory exhaust system from the engine back to the mufflers so I told them when I called back I will just come and pick the car up but I need to speak with your service manager first so when I came in I asked to speak with the service manager I was given the runaround for about 20 minutes then finally a different technician came up and asked me if he could help I told him the situation and he said he will check it himself and I said great it sounds like I should've got you in the first place because your other technician and service writer told me that I needed to spend almost $4000 and it has nothing to do with the problem so he checked it out called back and told me it was the ionic sensors and it would cost $1500 to have those replaced then I told him well what about the air filters and the whole exhaust system that I was told that needed to be changed he said he did not understand why they would tell me that, that's when I had told him well I guess they thought I was that little old lady that just says " OH OK here's my credit card go ahead and rip me off. and take some more money so basically beware if you go to this dealership for service if it is not under warranty they're going to try and rip you off and sell you parts you do not need so what I did was I took that information and paid the $185 for them to check the car out then I went to the place I usually buy my parts because I do most of my own work. They always get the parts I need within the same day at a great price this place is called ALL CAR PARTS LTD In Canoga park on Vanowen near Canoga. And no I do not work there and I am not posting this just to get them any type of business I just want people to beware of Bob Smith BMW MINI at the same time let people know where they can go to get parts at a great discount BMW wanted $685 each for the ionic sensors and I needed two. the parts place quoted me $350 each and it took me five minutes to put them on two bolts and a plug now the car runs like new again so as I said before if you go to Bob Smith BMW MINI Calabasas California and you take your car in for service because there is a problem and you have no idea what it might be watch out they might try to sell you parts you do not need and then tell you it might not even fix the problem so basically if I would've spent that $3800 they would've then said you need another $1500 to fix the problem so it would've cost me almost $6000 where it only cost me around $800 total to do it myself with a socket wrench and 30 minutes of my time. I only gave them one star because the technician that did help me actually found the problem or at least was honest with me about the reason the car was not running right otherwise I would not have given that company even one star. read more

Lesson Learned: if I could I would take stars away and give you a Negative Three Stars. In search of a 2017 BMW i3 REX. April 20, 2019 I found it on cargurus.com. The i3 was a Coming Soon listing so I was excited to be early for this listing. The car was Stock #: V893132L. Car was listed as a 2017 BMW i3 REX with 8,526 miles and listed for $23,991 VIN: WBY1Z8C33HV893132. Now if you have been in the market for an i3, this was a great price. So I requested information and immediately contacted by Antonio Tate, sales person from Bob Smith BMW. Now this is at 9:30am and I asked if this coming soon listing i3 was available? Tate said yes the i3 was out back because they had just received that car and it had a scratch on the bumper that was going to be painted. Note: car was out back, it was not being shown to the public. I explained that I lived 70 miles from the dealership and that I was already pre-approved with my bank. I told him, please hold this car and proceed to email him my current drivers license, insurance card and pre-approval letter. Tate asked if I mind running my credit via BMW since they have better rates. Well after phones calls, emails, my bank fax my approved loan Tate calls me and tells me that i3 has been sold. What! I thought you told me 6 hours ago it was available and by the way you already have my financial institutions loan documents. Nope, that car is sold. He also explains how he's on my side and will see what he can do. I ask to speak to the manager, but Tate says the manager will only tell me the same thing. So I hung up! Two minutes later, manager calls (forgot his name)and apologized for the sold car but said he's going to make it right. He said I could buy and executive i3 2018 for $38k, which he was discounting. This is when my balloon popped and I told him this fishing scam they did was wrong and not to contact me again. It's like getting "Catfished" by a car dealership. They post a car in demand and fish people around. Why write this Yelp review, education. Bob Smith with not get my business and I hope this doesn't happen to anyone else. And to the Bob Smith person that replies to these negative reviews, don't waste your time and try to apologize or call me. Your manager that tried to make it right earlier by having me spend $38k made it very clear how your company works! I have never written this type of review, but you crossed the line. I will never buy from Bob Smith BMW or BMW again. In fact I would never buy BMW again period! I have purchased 4 BMW's from Bob Smith BMW in Calabasas California over the past 4 years. Beginning around 2003 I believe. All 4 vehicles were leased and were NEW. I had quality problems from the very first car. So 2003 I leased the first set of 2 new BMW's from Bob Smith BMW and had problems from day one. I had quality and service problems from Bob Smith service department, which was run at that time by the daughter was nothing short of a scam! Yet after turning in the 2 vehicles after the lease term was up, I decided to trust Bob Smith BMW AGAIN (based on promises from Matt Smith). Plus the other auto manufacturers did not have anything decent to offer at that time. So we went ahead and leased 2 more NEW, BMW's from Bob Smith BMW. And guess what more quality problems and more service problems from the dealer (Bob Smith BMW). To make things worst upon returning these last 2 cars to Bob Smith, he broke a promise to me they had BMW charge me $600.00 on return for one of the cars which was returned in PERFECT condition and with 7000 miles BELOW the allowable lease miles of 12,000.00 Basically I only put 5000 miles on the car and later that month BOB SMITH BMW had it on their lot for a hefty profit and advertised LOW MILES on the windshield! I tried to get help from BMW North America. They were just as bad as the dealer (Bob Smith BMW). Moral of this story: Buy Lexus, Mercedes, Acura, ANYTHING but a BMW. I normally would have said do NOT buy only from Bob Smith BMW of Calabasas California. But in this case corporate BMW (BMW North America is what they call themselves) , is just as EVIL and scummy as Bob Smith BMW the dealer! read more

I have been a loyal customer of BMW for 9 years now, and when I leased my last one two years ago, after couple of months I realized that the spare key does not function, so when I took my car in for service I took the defective key in as well for it to be looked at. When I went back to pick up my car, the service advisor told me that the spare key was defective, and that he will have BMW mail me a new one. He asked me to email him a copy of my drivers license, and a copy of my registration, and he will take care of it. After few months went by, and I never received a new spare key, I contacted the service advisor to ask him where my spare key was, and he told me I need to bring in my defective key again to have it ordered. Not only their story changed, but they also lost my defective key, now needed by BMW to give me a new one. When I picked up my car from service, they never gave me back the defective key. Because I was told I will get a replacement in the mail sent only to the vehicle registration address, I never bothered to ask where my defective key was. So, they lost my defective spare key, and would not accept responsibility. I contacted BMW of North America several times, and they contacted the manager at the dealership, but no one really seemed to care. No one every contacted me to even apologize. I sent the service advisor numerous emails, but he probably responded to 2 out of 10 emails. I was a regular customer of this dealership, but will never go back until they find my defective key I left with them, or accept responsibility. I am truly disgusted by how they handled, or better say never handled this situation. read more

I had a truly awful experience at this dealership. Kristen Lobetta, one of the managers, completely lacks professionalism and respect. Her rude and unhelpful attitude made it clear she is not fit for her position and has no grasp of how to conduct business. During my negotiation for a car lease, which was only $300 for three years, she was visibly angry and handled the situation poorly. She even went so far as to say, "we pass your business," which was both shocking and unprofessional. If she had any knowledge or basic decency, she could have easily convinced me to accept the deal or at least managed the negotiation more gracefully. While Andy, the salesperson, was friendly, I still couldn't get clear answers to my questions, which was incredibly frustrating. But the main issue was the manger Kristen Lobetta and her rude attitude!! Overall, the service I received does not align with the luxury standards expected from BMW. I anticipated much more and will not be returning. I have lodged a complaint with the general manager Matt Smith and am escalating this to higher authorities, as this level of service is simply unacceptable. In contrast, I received a far better deal from the Valencia showroom, where I was valued and treated with respect and provided with clear, honest information and pricing from the beginning to the end. read more

I took my car in for service recently on Monday morning at 9:00am for a standard maintenance (oil change and program update, and wheel alignment), I also had some minor nicks to be repaired under their Total Image warranty. I was given updates on a daily basis and finally the vehicle was ready at 5:00 on Wednesday. With the terrible traffic on the freeway, I barely made it there by 5:45. I was in a hurry to turn in the courtesy car and pick up my vehicle. The car was retained for the additional two days for the minor nicks touch up and upon pick up, none of the items had been corrected except a small nick on the mirror which was painted with normal touch up paint brush (horrible job). I could have done that in 5 minutes and done a better job. After calls to Kathryn in service, they agreed it was a mix up and will repair the items mentioned and work with me at a later time. Now, for the clincher, in my haste to pick up the car and return the courtesy car, I left my prescription glasses in the loaner. I called Josh and he said they weren't there. Very expensive trip to this dealer and I am not sure what someone would do with my prescription glasses. I hope someone will locate the glasses and give me a call. This was not a good experience to this date and hopefully it will get better. read more

Just leased a 2017 X3 M black sapphire metallic (fully loaded) at Bob Smith BMW and it was the Ultimate Experience !! I really felt Special throughout the entire process, all the way from the very first phone call (Samantha to Ryan), the many test drives (Malik to Ryan) the vehicle delivery, down to the financing (Julia, was exceptionally friendly, no pressure at all) it was all very pleasant, it was Absolutely Lovely Ryan Bosman, Internet sales manager was Amazing ! Julia, in financing, very Sweet ! Ryan and I were talking for 196 days before I decided I was ready to lease my BMW. Ryan is a really good salesman, he's honest, sincere, looks out for your best interest and voices his opinion based on what he thinks might work better for you, financing vs. leasing (all of the above, very rare traits in a salesman) and delivers exactly what you want. After doing research on what new small new SUV I wanted, I settled on the 2019 BMW X3. I called and visited multiple dealers and did test drives, but none of them had a car with the combination of features I wanted. Additionally, all of them offered deals that were unattractive at best. Then a friend suggested I contact Ryan Bosman at Bob Smith BMW in Calabasas. I was reluctant at first because I do not live in The Valley and that dealership is a LONG way from my home. Finally I decided to contact him, and everything changed. He was helpful, friendly, accommodating, flexible and tireless in helping me out. To make a long story shorter, I am now driving EXACTLY the vehicle I wanted and the entire transaction was actually pleasant and enjoyable. That is a first for me in buying a car, and I have bought many over the years. Ryan Bosman is a gracious professional in a business where that is not the prevailing character type. In fact, everyone I came in contact with at Bob Smith BMW was great. I cannot recommend this dealership too highly, and specifically, Ryan Bosman is the kind of person anyone would be lucky to engage with in the car buying process. I recently brought my 2024 BMW M3 Competition xDrive in for service due to a differential overheating warning that appeared at just 7,000 miles. As a high-performance vehicle that is marketed and designed for dynamic driving, I assumed this would be addressed under the warranty. However, the technician, Paul Cooper, informed me that the fluid change required to resolve the issue was not covered, citing the car had been "sportily driven" and that my inner tire tread was low. This reasoning is completely unacceptable. The M3 is engineered for high-performance scenarios and includes features like a drift analyzer and track mode, both of which inherently encourage spirited driving. Denying warranty coverage based on how the vehicle is intended to be used is both illogical and misleading. The fact that a nearly new car is experiencing this issue, and that the technician is refusing to take responsibility under the warranty, reflects poorly on both the service department and BMW as a brand. Customers should not be penalized for using the car in the way it was designed and marketed. This experience has greatly diminished my confidence in BMW's commitment to their products and their customers. read more

We have been leasing our BMW's from Bb Smith for the past 9 years. We leased cars from Beverly Hills BMW and Rusnak BMW (Thousand Oaks) prior to finding Bob Smith. Rusnak is absolutely the worst! OMG!! They wouldn't know what costumer service was if it hit them in the face. However, we have been thrilled with Bob Smith. Greg from the Internet Sales department is our guy! He always makes sure we are happy with our lease (car and price) and he never, ever haggles with us. He recently found the exact car I wanted at the exact price my husband wanted to pay. He doesn't play games. He does everything he can to make use satisfied costumers. Also, the service department at Bob Smith is the bomb! They always give me a loaner BMW and always do a wonderful job. I recently got in an accident and called Greg to see where I should take my car to get it fixed. He is having the service department contact me and they will send it out to have an approved BMW shop fix it. The costumer CARE, not just service, at Bob Smith is truly so rare and so appreciated. I have purchased many cars in my life.. many as in close to 100 cars.. yes.. I'm without question an addict. I love cars and a huge enthusiasts. I never in my life own a Mini and always always wanted to own a mini so bad.. on my bucket list of things todo in my life. The world is moving in the direction of electric and the manual transmission and ice cars is becoming a thing of the past. This is what DROVE me to the local Mini Dealer. The 1 part I hate about my love for cars is the dealerships. I dont need to waste your time with the headaches that come from most dealerships and sales people. However if you are looking to get into a Mini like myself.. There is no better person to visit than Miklos Forgo. Without question he is a enthusiasts of Mini brand and does an amazing job getting you into the perfect mini for you. I wish Bob smith could clone him and put him at every single car dealership as he is the best sales person I have ever come across.. Make sure to visit mini in Calabasas and ask for Miklos. Our experience at BMW Bob Smith in Calabasas was absolutely horrible. My husband and I had spent hours negotiating the price and terms of a car over the phone, and they had already run his credit. We even drove five hours back and forth, expecting to finalize the deal we had been promised. But when we arrived, Levon, the salesperson we had been dealing with, coldly informed us that the price had been increased by $1,000--no apologies, no explanations, nothing. It was take-it-or-leave-it. They didn't care about our time or the fact that our credit had already been impacted by this process. On top of that, they didn't even bother to show us the car we were there to buy! After all that driving, Levon told us they didn't actually have it at the dealership, but there was another one available at an even higher price. It was truly a shocking and frustrating experience to be treated like this in the U.S. This dealership clearly doesn't value its customers or stand behind its word. If you're considering a purchase here, beware. This experience was an absolute nightmare, and I wouldn't recommend BMW Bob Smith to anyone. read more

All must be familiar with the term "Buyer's Remorse"-it is an awful feeling. I do not know if an appropriate term exists for the opposite feeling, but if one does, that's how we feel after taking delivery of our sixth vehicle from Bob Smith BMW. Once again the folks at Bob Smith BMW-Marc Medrano in particular, did an outstanding job in making us feel such an integral and valued part of the Bob Smith family. We are both elated with our new 535i M-Sport Edition and look forward to getting 'miles of smiles' as we enjoy it for the next 36 months at which time we will get yet another new BMW. When that time comes rest assured that we will once again contact Marc at Bob Smith. When the BMW survey arrives I will gladly give a 10-rating in all categories-it is well and rightly deserved. In the meantime, it is my hope that this message of appreciation will reach the store management and owners. Marc as well as Paul Nema and Brian in finance are terrific at what they do and it should be acknowledged by someone that can make a difference. I have a pretty hectic work schedule, so coordinating a loaner car can sometimes feel like one more thing on an already full plate -- but Javier made it completely painless. He was professional, accommodating, and went out of his way to work around my schedule without me having to ask twice. You can tell he genuinely cares about the customer experience, not just checking a box. That kind of flexibility and attentiveness is hard to come by. Bob BMW of Calabasas's loaner department is in great hands with Javier -- highly recommend! Curtis is exactly the kind of service advisor you hope to get when you bring your car in. From the moment I arrived, he was attentive, knowledgeable, and kept everything moving without any of the usual dealership friction. My visit was smooth and stress-free start to finish, and a big part of that was having someone like Curtis in my corner. He communicates clearly, follows through, and genuinely seems to care about making sure you leave happy. Beware of Bait-and-Switch Tactics at Bob Smith BMW My recent experience at Bob Smith BMW was extremely disappointing and frustrating. My family and I spent hours negotiating a deal for a BMW X6 with specific color and package preferences, and we agreed on a price with the dealership. They even ran my credit through their application, confirming our arrangement. However, when we made the long, three-hour drive to the dealership, we were met with a totally different story. The salesperson informed us that the color combination we wanted was suddenly "unavailable" and said we would need to settle for a different car for $2,000 less, which was not what we wanted or agreed upon. Even worse, they tried to raise the price by $1,000 if we still wanted the original car! It felt like a classic bait-and-switch. Not only did we waste hours of time and sit through heavy traffic to get there, but we were also treated with a lack of transparency and professionalism. I've been going to bobsmith Bmw since there dealership was on Topanga Cyn on Woodland Hills , This time, was for the break and shaking, same as before, and now I find out last time they just changed the brake pad, not the rotors without contacting me and asking me as a customer discussing the problem. They just went ahead and change the brake pad without checking the rotor if it's good or bad Now charging me again thousand dollar more for changing the rotor and brake pad. They could do this in the first place if they will contact me and telling me what's going on I'm not gonna go back to the dealership anymore so disappointing. The service advisor does not have a knowledge about brake And rotor and the car shaking and then I ask him about something on my car. He was telling me that don't be shy come and look at it on the computer. Just purchased a BMW from Brian Mayer in the internet sales department and he went above and beyond throughout the deal. I purchased from out of state and had never done that before, but he made everything very simple. During the time that him and I were discussing the condition of the vehicle he went out in the rain with me on the phone and crawled around under the car checking for any scrapes or marks on the bumpers, as well as providing me with a detailed inspection of the vehicle going over every point with me. From there on out he was always available any time I had a question about either the car or the paperwork via text/cell phone/email and would always respond within a couple of minutes. He even took care of getting the car registered and had the taxes paid in AZ before the car got to me. As a first time buyer of a car over the phone/internet this is as good as it can get.
