I purchased multiple cars from Bob Smith in the past, and I had great experience. However, this time it was horrible experience. Customer service at Bob Smith went down a lot, even though their car prices went up. In addition, I referred a lot of people to Bob Smith who also purchased cars in the past. Unfortunately, this will be the last time I bought a car from Bob Smith, and I will not recommend Bob Smith to anyone. I was oroiginally quoted a price and we agreed on the deal. I was also mentioned that breaks are no longer a part of the maintanance an it will cost me additional $600 to cover the breaks. I was OK with paying $600 for the breaks. However, when we got to Amir, Finance Manager desk to go over papers he mentioned that breaks coverage is infact $950 instead of $600. When I tried to ask him any questions he was very rude and unprofessional, making sound like I'm stupid and $650 was never quoted. Further, any questions I had about paper work he was acting the same way. Amir was very unpleasant to work with. I hope Bob Smith looks into improving customer service. Praising Wayne, the sales manager, for truly outstanding last-minute service. I'm moving out of the country and had to do a last-minute lease inspection and early return. Although I've had my M240i serviced at Bob Smith, I'd originally leased the vehicle from San Diego BMW, and didn't really have the time in my schedule to deviate back down there to offload the vehicle. Logistics become very tight when you have a narrow window to get stuff done and the prospect of very long and expensive flights if you miss something. Every dealership in LA -- the ones that responded, anyway -- told me the same story: they couldn't accept a vehicle return until an inspection was done and BMW Financial Services provided me with an early-termination payoff quote. BMW Financial Services, meanwhile, couldn't arrange an inspection until after my scheduled departure from the country. So here I was, stuck in the middle, trying to give BMW money to end my lease early and stick to my work/move schedule. Panic. I ended up driving over to Bob Smith BMW in person to speak to a sales manager and *try* to work something out. Even though their onsite inspector was out sick, Wayne immediately put me at ease, handled the vehicle return paperwork, and scheduled an inspection with BMW so that the inspector can provide a quote to BMW Financial Services and I can pay off the lease at that point (at the time of this writing, probably in a couple of weeks). Meanwhile, most importantly, the car is off to a new home, and will make someone *very* happy. (Seriously, the M-flavored 2 Series is unbelievably brilliant. It harkens back to the glory days of the E46 M3. I had a track day at the BMW Center in Thermal last year, and thrashing an M2 or M240i is so much fun it should be illegal.) A few key points here: 1.) I have not written this review in exchange for preferred service, discounts, etc., nor have I been compensated in any way. (I'm leaving the *country,* people.) 2.) I don't hand out top-notch ratings if they aren't earned. Look at my review of Beverly Hills BMW, for instance. (Neda Shahrokhi, I'm *still* pissed at you. You cost BH BMW a sale that went to San Diego BMW instead. Good job. I have no doubt you've earned your success, Neda -- the shrine to yourself in your office is proof enough of that -- but you sure as hell don't know how to handle analytical/driver consumers. Hopefully Monty Meave or whomever is the current GM there has adjusted the lease return policy at that dealership so that you're not a single point of failure for the entire operation.) 3.) I just spent $2300 to extend my warranty at Bob Smith BMW for my 2014 435i msport I was told at the time that all fluids brakes oil changes and general maintenance was covered. As soon as I took my car for service bmw told me fluids are not covered the brakes are only covered if the pads and the rotors are bad but if the pads are in good condition but the rotors are bad they will not pay for it or cover it under warranty. I was also told if there was a issue found with my car that there would be no diagnosis fee for inspecting my vehicle when they told me they found fault codes for my vehicle regarding voltage, and they also had found that the rotors were bad but the pads were still in good condition so they could not do any work under warranty therefore I was left to pay a diagnosis fee of $180, so then they wanted to wave the fee as long as I purchased a battery from them for $500 before tax I refused, and asked to speak with the manager When I finally spoke with the manager she waived the diagnosis fee and The service advisor basically told me never to come back. I always go to BMW of Beverly Hills and recommend everybody to go there as well only reason I came here was because they have more open roads to test the cars and aren't in the city. At the end of the day $500 before tax for a battery & the dealership to lie to about their services and warranty coverage. Bad business practices!!!!!!!!! read more

Background: I called and visited various dealerships during my free time over the course of a few weeks. From a sales perspective, I was probably not the ideal customer: I wasn't wedded to a particular car or brand, I was just exploring my options, considering but not wedded to buying, and happy to walk away. Sales: Alex Rustamov handled my purchase. Great guy. He didn't employ the typical pushy sales tactics. The big one I hate the most: "running out the clock" (where the salesperson says "let me see what I can do" and leaves you sitting around for eternity to grind you down) wasn't once attempted. When I first visited and said I intended to go to a few more dealerships and mull over the cars I'd seen, Alex didn't pull the "wait wait, what can I do to get you into a car today?" gambit. He talked to me frankly and didn't try to push me on any particular vehicle. Instead, he acted as a concierge of sorts, listening to my preferences and fitting them against the various vehicles they had on the lot. Alex is 100% of the reason why I came back the next day and why I ended up buying. There were no hidden fees or pricey aftermarkets. Also, even though many other dealerships are doing it amid the microchip shortage, BSBMW didn't try to hit me with any "market adjustments." Alex was earnest and transparent about pricing, and didn't apply pressure at all. With all that said, of course your interests and the dealer's interests are diametrically opposed--you want a free car and they want to feed their families and maybe go to Cabo. This is inevitable no matter where you go. So certainly do your research on the cars you're interested in and on financing offers from BMW Financial Services and other lenders. Browsing financing offers saved me 1% off my rate. I walked away with a great deal on the only model of my series they had on the lot. Alex also hooked me up with a great deal on my trade-in, getting me above what I paid for my 2019 car when it was new. Of course, this isn't a guarantee and depends in part on market conditions and what kind of car you have, but the trade-in deal combined with the price I paid for my new BMW was leagues ahead of what the number crunchers at several other local BMW and Audi dealerships offered on similar vehicles. In fact, on the exact same model with fewer options and including their trade-in offer, a certain dealer in Studio City's starting quote was $10,000 higher than what Alex came out with. That's not a typo. $10,000. In sum, Alex didn't put me through the typical sales ringer (saving me valuable time) and got me out the door with an objectively good deal. I left not only happy with my purchase, but also happy to have helped a genuinely nice guy make some commission and get a notch toward his volume bonus. In my book, if you've got customers leaving with this feeling, it's the mark of a great salesman. Paperwork: Here, as at any other dealership, you'll face the typical maintenance program sales pitch from the finance manager as you're filling out forms. That's not necessarily a bad thing. If you're a high mileage driver and/or you're purchasing an M-series with expensive rotors and wear parts, it could very well be worth it, but again, do your research and understand your needs ahead of time. Elias Habib was the finance manager who handled my paperwork. Young guy, very nice, he did lay it on a little thick with the maintenance pitches, but he wasn't out-of-line pushy and made some genuinely good offers on BMWs extended maintenance program. He answered my questions about the various programs he was pitching and he was respectful when I decided against them. Vehicle Condition and Prep: I don't know the names of the people on the cleaning crew that detailed my car while I was dealing with paperwork, but I do know that they did a fantastic job. The car was already in great condition with no notable swirls or scratches, just some typical minor valley dust, so big props to BSBMW for generally keeping their lot cars looking good. When the car came out of detailing, it was **immaculate.** This is an under-appreciated part of the car buying process. It shouldn't be. All too often, dealers don't pay attention to the finer points of detailing, and you can find yourself with a brand new car that needs paint correction. Not the case here. The car I drove off the lot was swirl/scratch-free. It's hard to overstate how important this is and how much money it saves you in prep and paint correction costs if you plan on getting ceramic coating or paint protection film. Great work on this front. Tech: Lastly, Tristen Pollet helped me get acquainted with my new car before I drove it off the lot. He was patient and extremely knowledgeable about the awesome tech suite that came with it. The tech suite on these new BMWs is stunning and I was lucky to have Tristen to guide me through the user interface. Final words: Highly, highly recommended. read more

Todays awful service related to a certified pre owned i3 bmw I purchased a couple weeks ago. It had a problem and salesman said they would fix it and gave me an appointment. When I came in the service advisor refused to help me saying it would be $150. Fortunately the salesman Antonio was here and he apologized for the Advisors incompetence.
