Since December 2020 I've been trying to get an allocation for my dream car - BMW M2 Comp. I initially started with my local dealerships but they let me down big time. Fast forward to March 2021, Marc was able to get me an allocation for my M2 Comp and helped me build the car just as I wanted it. In addition to that, he was able to give me the rate that I wanted from the beginning. Throughout the whole process he kept me updated with the location of the car and the future ETA time. I was having a some trouble deciding on which car I wanted to drive next since my current lease was ending in 2 weeks. After going to several dealerships, BMW, Maserati, Audi, etc., I decided to give BMW another shot and came to the Bob Smith location, hoping to receive relatively better customer service. From the minute my fiancé and I walked into the dealer, we were greeted so genuinely and definitely felt like it was going to be a good experience. We were greeted by someone named Hovik who did not hesitate one minute to respond to any questions we had regarding a vehicle we were looking for. He was able to take us to the rooftop lot where they kept most of their vehicles for us to take a look at before choosing one to test drive. I knew I wanted a 4 series so we went through their rows of potential choices. My eye caught the beautiful 435i sitting on the lot, which also happened to be the last one in the Estoril Blue Metallic color. I took the car for a test drive and absolutely fell in love with it! I hit the jackpot that the car just so happened to be a fully loaded M-package. Hovik did everything he could to make the deal satisfy all that I was looking for in my next new car. I should mention that all this happened on a Sunday that the dealer was supposed to close at 6 pm. Needless to say, the dealership stayed open until about 8 pm to prepare all the paperwork and wash/detail my new car and send me home in my beautiful new blue 435i m-package! Two part crap show... PART 1: I don't know what happened but now that everything has moved back to the main building, it's been "not great" every time. My old service guy, Tig, was amazing but he left for a new dealership. I have a new guy now (who I don't want to name), pretty nice but very lax about updates or remembering appointments (via email). They're great about the loaner cars, that's nice. Always a nice car, not super strict about when to get it back but I just always want 'my' car back. Anyway, so the latest thing with these guys... a guy was texting and driving and hit my bumper on the 101. I've now found a new car place, half the cost for far better service, but since his insurance was covering it, I wanted to bring it to the dealership. Wasn't awful, just needed to be resurfaced. I set-up an appointment brought it in in the morning and this new service guy never follows up via email or calls. It's always me pestering him for updates. But with this appointment, he didn't follow-up with security and the dude wouldn't let me in for service until I had to go through my phone and prove to him via an email that I had an appointment. So I dropped that off on a Monday, they said it wouldn't take a couple days, not too long. 'Long' story short... it was two weeks!! For a surfacing!? It was radio silence from Bob Smith BMW for the week, I had to check in with my service guy the following Monday. He barely remembered, "Oh yeah, it rained so they couldn't do it for a couple days, soon though." Then radio silence. I had to pester then the following week, same thing, taking longer than expected. So, after calling again, the guy said, "Oh yeah, it's ready tomorrow morning." What a coincidence. Good, I wanted my car back. I got there and checked in. They didn't clear the bill with insurance so there was a snag there and the lady wanted my credit card just in case, I said no way, figure it out. They let it go since originally the insurance and the dealership were supposed to be in communication. Then I wanted to get to work and it took 25 minutes to get my car pulled up 'after' the insurance thing. I just wanted to get outta there. I almost just hopped in and drove away but before I did, "Let me just take a quick look." I'll be damned, there was a new scratch on it! I parked it, went back inside and asked 'the guy' to come out. He was like, "Oh wow, yeah, that's not supposed to be there." The hell! No, it's not - who checks the work here! So then he's like, "Don't worry, bring it back, we'll get that take care of." Yeah, of course you have to but now I have to drive all the way back out twice, uninstall two car seats, install them into the rental again, let them have it for probably another two weeks, then reinstall them back into my regular car. Any parent knows doing that three times is a pain and it's totally unnecessary had someone checked the work before returning my car to me after two weeks. (Spoiler: I tried getting them to fix it and now they can't find any record of them saying they would make it right.) I'm honestly done with this place for service. I've been here for years and it was a lot better before. Something changed. Now it's a joke. Even in the brand new building, you'd think they'd have waters, snacks, or donuts in the waiting are, like the Honda Dealership in Woodland Hills (where my wife takes her Honda) or the like the BMW dealership in Thousand Oaks, where I originally bought it. Nope, old magazines, an empty cooler where water is supposed to be, no snacks while you wait. This is BMW... in Calabasas and there's nothing in the waiting area? It's supposed to be a 'luxury' car line - yet, they run it like a Kia dealership (no offense, Kia). It's petty but it really shows that they really don't care about going that extra step when a Honda dealership gets it. They clearly don't know the clientele they're servicing. PART 2: Being that an oil change is basically the same price as some independent place I figured I would just come here for a "simple" oil change before a road trip. Ever since that day, my car pours smoke out of the vents and bucks through gears!! Now their negligent services putting my family and me in harm's way. Assuming I get back from this trip I'm on now I'm going to have to drive it back out to the dealership and play my whole weekend around it again. Unreal how sloppy this place is. read more

My husband & I are at the Service Department today and I could not believe how EXTREMELY welcoming, courteous, helpful & professional these people are from the point you enter the lot until you get done. We were greeted by an elderly gentleman as we entered & they knew if you were on the Appointment list. Very organized system. Then a very friendly gentleman came to us as we were lining up our car for the service. He already knew who our Service Advisor was & with a warm smile, informed us that we were going to be serviced in about 10 mins after the guy who was ahead of us. Our Service Advisor Rob Meyer was so helpful. He came inside the waiting area to inform us that our car was already being worked on. Once again, highly organized & systematized. There's coffee inside while waiting. Everyone here was so respectful & although we had a much older model BMW, they treated us all the same. We've experienced going to other BMW dealerships in Los Angeles and BMW CALABASAS is by far THE EXTREME BEST AMONG THEM ALL!!! This place is where everyone should go for their service needs. I was scheduled for a service appt at 11:30am and was not seen until 12:15pm. I checked in with the receptionist by 11:15am to ensure I would be in and out quickly. Receptionist motioned me to the rep, who was helping another client, and said he would call me name when ready. I waited, waited, and waited. He finished with the first guy. Great, my name is about to be called. Then a second guy approaches him and takes up a good chunk of time. Alright, that sucks. Let's give him the benefit of doubt. Rep wraps up with the second guy, but wait a second, here's comes another lady! At this point I realize I need to get off my ass and apparently just loiter like a weirdo next to his desk to make sure I'm next one called. So the lady leaves and he's starts checking his phone. He's on the phone now. No eye contact yet. Finally, he gets off the phone and realizes I exist when I'm literally in front of him now. I tell him about the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Takata Air Bag Recall 11:30am appt and apologizes. I gotta admit, he got me out of there a heck of lot faster than the rest of the folks. But wait there's more... I return the same day to drop off the loaner and retrieve my baby back. I check in with receptionist who tells me my car will be brought up shortly. I went outside to wait. Once again, three (seriously, another three) other folks came after me, dropping off their loaners, moving their trunk's contents to the their car, and getting out of there before me. I asked one of the guys outside what's up with me car? And whaddya know? My car came up in less than a minute. What the hell? I seriously felt, and I know this maybe going far, but pretty damn discriminated. It's Calabasas, and here's come a young Mexican brother sporting a BMW. Hmmmm... I still haven't received my vehicle inspection report, despite a few emails either. This was a very disappointing, infuriating experience. read more

I've dealt with Ash I believe at least 3 times, he's always on top of every issue, follows thru on all action items, listens carefully, and has a great attitude & personality. I will say I had a horrible/sleazy experience with Bob Smith BMW regarding purchase of an extended warranty - broken promises, pitiful follow-thru, and outright rudeness (resulting in me having to buy it elsewhere) - but that has nothing to do with Ash and the rest of the Svc Dept, whom are also highly organized and helpful. Thanks for your recent help, Ash! PS Just read the below review by Marco, slamming the Svc Dept. That's all inaccurate/overblown... The loaner cars are quite nice, the temporary tent HQ is fine, etc. Of course, if some coffee had spilled on the coffee table, that is indeed a tragedy. I returned back to lease a second car from them.Very unprofessional salesperson. I tried dealing with JUSTIN RUBIA and he was rude from the getgo. I test drove the X3 and waited for 15 minutes for him to show up. He clearly didn't care making a deal. I asked if it was better for him to call me with a quote and he said yes. 6 hours with no call so I followed up with a call and left a message. 9 hours later he decided to return my call and said sorry the car is sold. I asked why it took him 9 hours to call me back and he said he was with a customer. I said that was very unprofessional service and I need to speak with the general manager. He said you can speak with whoever you want and hung up on me. I will never step a foot in this dealership and would take my 8 Series for service at another location. read more
