What an incredible new addition to the harbor! I love boba but most of my favorite shops are in LA, so it's nice to have a great new local one. They make their boba fresh each day, which is such a treat. Great Thai Tea. Large location with great indoor seating right by the water. They even have a few games for you to play. Had a lot of fun playing a few rounds of Exploding Kittens while enjoying our boba. Definitely stop by while out walking in the Ventura Harbor. read more

We came here because we had such a great experience when it first opened, Sadly, the experience this time was horrible. The worker looked like he didn't want to be there, took 40 minutes to make me and my kids a smoothie. My daughter kept hearing the microwave ding, after we drank our smoothies which looked super sloppy we tasted hard , boba , tasted as if it was a day old . We will never come here again poor service and poor quality boba, my daughter who is 10 has made better ones at home. read more

They do such a great job of making delicious drinks and the customer service was above and beyond. We took 9 teenagers for an afternoon of kayaking and everyone needed a refreshing drink afterward. Wow! May be biased as I was the only customer on a Monday afternoon, but ordered an avocado cloud, full sweetness, with rainbow jelly & popping boba and it was delightful. This place is tiny but has a ton of drink options. Avo cloud was made within a few minutes and looked gorgeous! A little pricey but worth it imo to sip on your harbor walk! read more

We come to this place after riding bicycles at the state park beach. The boba is good and it is one of our favorite types of beverages when traveling. There is an option to tone down the sugar level and we do appreciate that factor. Orders are taken quickly and we have been served in about five minutes. If the blue chairs are available outside we sit outs and watch the world of Ventura harbor go by. That part of this boba experience is very good, nice chairs with great view. read more

I was really excited to try Boba by the Sea since it's in such a great location in the old chocolate shop at Ventura Harbor. The staff was very kind and welcoming, but unfortunately that's the best part of the experience. The shop itself feels very empty inside. There are large counters and counter space that aren't being used for anything, just a register at the end and a few chairs. It doesn't feel warm or inviting. The menu is very limited, with only a handful of options, and nothing really jumped out as appealing. I ordered the strawberry fruit tea, which was supposed to be jasmine or oolong-based, but instead it tasted oddly like dish soap. I couldn't taste any tea at all. My niece got a cheese foam tea with boba, and the boba pearls were tough, chewy, and not enjoyable. She said the drink was just "okay" once she avoided the boba. The one fun touch was the little gummy yogurt bear toppers they added, cute and probably the highlight for her. Service was also an issue. After we ordered, they served the five people who came in after us first. We had to go up and ask about our drinks, only to be told they had lost our order. It ended up taking almost 20 minutes just to get two drinks. Prices are on the higher side (about $6.95 and up), and while I appreciated being able to choose sweetness levels, I ordered 75% sweetness and it still had no sweetness at all. Overall, I don't think I'll be back. I can see them doing fine with tourists because of the location and friendly staff, but I don't see a lot of repeat business from locals unless the drinks and service improve. read more

It has a limited menu, limited decorations, pricey drinks, but cleverly made jelly Labubu. The service is friendly and they did well making the Labubu jelly as it brought us in. The good thing they do is adjust sweetness from 100%, to 75, 50, 25 or 0% sweetness. However I tried their lychee slushy and was not a fan, while the jelly didn't win me over either. However my 2 guests liked their drinks, and my kid liked the idea of eating a Labubu, but not the actual jelly, it ended up in the trash half way finished. Boba by the Sea is officially open at the Ventura Harbor! Talk about having the best views while sipping on a refreshing fruit tea or boba drink. The Ventura Harbor desperately needed a spot like this and I'm telling you that you have to try this spot out ASAP. This spot has only been open for a few days and they are already killing it - they are open to the public and ready to serve. The vibes and staff are immaculate hunnayyy! I love their outdoor seating with cute little fruit stools and chairs that allow you to sip and overlook the harbor. The inside is giving cute/clean girl aesthetic. MAX, you are an absolute gem and you made me feel so welcome today, thank you. When I think about it there are a fair amount of Boba shops in the 805 but what is going to separate one from the other is amazing customer service and I am telling you, Boba by the Sea 100% delivers that Max spent his time answering all of my questions, teaching me about the menu, and in speaking with him it's so clear to me that they care so deeply about the quality of their ingredients. Max informed me they have some really beautiful and unique Matcha drinks coming out to stay tuned, I was able to smell a batch of the Matcha, and it was heavenly. Here's what I ordered: Coconut Boba Slushie W/ a LABUBU topper: How could you not like this drink? 10/10! Super tropical and summer in a cup. Added boba and the cutest labubu gelatin/gummy-like topper. It's super fun and if you are still chasing the labubu craze these drinks are for you! Tropical Kumquat Fruit Tea: I'm a sucker for a fruit tea and I absolutely love kumquat, the taste and smell reminds me of my childhood as we had a kumquat tree in the backyard. Very refreshing for this hot summer days ahead. Boba by the Sea has already stolen my heart and I'm ready to be a regular here. Nice boba tea shop and the only one like it's kind in the Ventura Harbor. It is in the spot that Top Chocolate was. But they have very poor efficiency on producing drinks. Not sure how long this new shop has been opened but waiting 30 minutes for one drink is terrible service and I wouldn't try this place again until they have at least 3-4 people exclusively working in the back making drinks. I am constantly craving boba and when I saw that a new boba spot opened up near me I just had to check it out. We got there about 30-45 minutes after they opened for the day, there was nobody else there and our drinks came out super quick. I am a sucker for brown sugar milk tea so I had to go with that and it did not disappoint. After we ordered, the person making it gave us a sample of the boba to make sure it was to our liking. The boba was a bit chewy so he asked if we wanted to switch out the boba for one of the other boba options, but I'm not a fan of the other clear boba in general so I didn't mind the regular one. He ended up refunding us for the boba since it wasn't as good as when it's fresh which was nice. Overall the customer service was great! Max was very kind, friendly, and did everything he could to make sure we had a good experience. The store itself was very clean and had some seating options inside. It was a bit on the pricier side but it's in a great location on the harbor so that's why. I will definitely give this place a try again soon! read more

We first tried this boba shop while we were walking around the Harbor Village and were craving some refreshing drinks. My fiancee got the brown sugar milk tea with yogurt popping boba. I got the passion tea with strawberry popping boba. It was so good we wish we got a bigger size, so today we came back to order the biggest size they had available !! You can tell they care about quality ingredients and have passion for their customers. I've had a lot of boba in my days and this is some of the best I've ever had. The only downside is we don't live in Ventura so we can't have it every week. We will definitely be back every time we are in town. read more

I found myself craving a nice piece of crisp lettuce though...it would have made it much better. The fries unfortunately, were horrible. They were so overly fried and greasy I had two and threw out the rest. I have never done that before and the fact that I waited 37 minutes for those fries made it sting even more. It also wasn't cheap at $18 for the burger and fries. I have never had french fries before with that kind of fried texture...it was very strange to me. We ordered and was told to pick up our drinks at the counter…read more Initially wanted the chicken and waffles but based on the pics on yelp, the waffle is very inconsistent (size, homemade vs eggo, etc). Due to that, we switched gears on what we ordered. Iced americano: phenomenal. Very smooth yet bold and refreshing Paneer dosa: a bit of a let down for me. I was not expecting it to be a plain dosa and chutney on the side. Masala dosa: this was better since it was filled with potato. Chicken sandwich: loved this, very juicy and balanced. Side of fries was excellent. The sandwich is small, just bigger than a slider. Finished in 4 bites. Fries with gunpowder: when we got this, it looks exactly like the regular fries. We figured they mustve forgot that we asked for gunpowder seasoning. We went back to ask for more seasoning, expecting them to just sprinkle it on. They were kind enough to remake it and bring it to us, which was very thoughtful. This time we could see the seasoning, but unfortunately they didn't taste any different. Don't get me wrong, the fries themselves were great- amazing crispy texture, but adding seasoning didn't do anything for them. Overall the hits were the Americano and Chicken Sandwich. Service here is fantastic, and the vibe is awesome as well. This is somewhere I'd stop for a small bite, but not the fill up.

This seriously addicting coffee shop, which started in Santa Barbara, has been a Ventura favorite for quite some time now, and it's been so fun watching them grow. Nestled in a charming converted cottage, this cozy café is the perfect addition to Downtown Ventura. When I stopped by over the weekend, they were insanely busy so I wasn't able to capture much of the space itself for photos but I can promise you it's a cute spot. We opted for outside table dining and it was lovely. To order you stand in line and then order at the counter, they'll bring the food back to your table, but they will call you up to grab your drinks. We ordered a couple of iced lattes and their famous Bella Rose - iced matcha, which was absolutely gorgeous and just as delicious. 10/10. Their drinks are truly little works of art and always worth ordering. To finish off brunch, we grabbed a couple of bagels. One of my favorites is their toasted bagel with tomato, avocado, and cream cheese, it's simple and so satisfying. Next time I'll be trying one of their fruit bowls. The staff here are absolute rockstars. They crank out drink after drink with a smile on their faces while keeping the atmosphere welcoming and fun. We always love stopping by, and if you haven't been yet, consider this your sign to check them out and support a fantastic local business.

For the matcha it was more bitter than sweet and was not balanced enough for my taste. I love when my matcha isn't overpowered by the milk which is why I did not enjoy this drink. I felt that I could taste more of the milk than the matcha. For the pistachio latte I did enjoy that the espresso was strong but the latte lacked pistachio flavor overall. I was expecting the latte to have a strong pistachio flavor was you could barely taste hints of it. I love the minimalist interior inside and is great they have outside seating. The drinks were ready fairly quickly but we also went when it was not super busy. I would love to come back and try some of their pastries because I hear great things about those as well.

All to say, research where you wish to walk about, find a meter or free parking lot - enough around, and put on your good yet cute walking shoes because you'll enjoy strolling about after your meal here - or drink. FOOD: I sooo loved my grill cheese. Instead of mushrooms I swapped for spinach - you're welcome. AND THE PICKLE ON THE SIDE - delish! So why 4 and not 5? Because of my limited lifestyle I found the menu a bit limiting. However, I am not a HUGE cheese person and I don't drink. It's never overly crowded or overwhelming, making it a great place to unwind and enjoy a peaceful experience. My wife and I often stop by on weekend mornings for coffee. While it can get a bit busier when the nearby church lets out, it still maintains a comfortable and laid-back vibe. It's one of our favorite spots to sit back, relax, and enjoy some quiet time together. We've also had the opportunity to try their wine, and it was a fantastic experience. It's great to have such a wonderful local business close to home, offering quality coffee and wine without the hassle of heavy traffic or large crowds. This place deserves more recognition than it gets. Although it's somewhat hidden, it's become one of our favorite places to visit, and we always look forward to coming back.
