I'd give 3.5 stars. This is a very consistent boba store when it comes to their tapioca. It is always fresh and well cooked WHEN THEY HAVE IT. After visiting once or twice a month for the past about 6 months (I live out of town) they only actually have boba about 80% of the time. Which is really a shame. Oh Boba, how I crave thee like a fat man craves doughnuts. The squishy ball thingys (tapioca pearls in other words) at the bottom of the drinks are not only fun to eat, but fun to shoot at people with the giant straw. Try the Iced Thai boba tea or the Taro blended boba tea. I was happy with both, although I think I prefer the blended drinks. Be aware though that I also know two people that thought the Taro one was a bit too sweet. There is only one size and the price, I believe, is around $3-ish. The place is small so don't expect a sit-down cafe. They also offer coffee drinks and sandwiches, known as Banh Mi, as well. Although I sound like an ape when I say the word "boba," I am more than happy to welcome this Boba Tea House to the white-central city of Redding. read more

This is the moment we've all been waiting for, a Boba Tea cafe in Redding! Okay, maybe it's the moment a handful of friends and I have been waiting for, but hey, once you try Boba Tea, you too will understand! So, I passed by today and texted my friends to tell of the news of the newly opened cafe, and i received a response that my friend John was already there ordering (and this was his second time there)! So I quickly came back and ordered a Coconut Blended Tea with Boba ($3.50) as well as a combo Vietnamese sandwich for $3.75! The ice blended tea was super tasty. I think they're still perfecting their boba recipe, but they were pretty good! They have a number of other flavors like Mango and Taro and blended Thai Tea. The sandwich was also delish with a nice crusty baguette and a mixture of meat and veggies. The cafe is cozy with just a couple tables, they're apparently planning to add outdoor seating. There is also a drive through that will soon be operational. That will be nice so you don't have to get out of you car in the heat of Redding summers! It's exciting that Redding is finally getting places like this. The staff is awesome and patient; will answer any questions about the menu and even offer samples if a similar order is coming around. There is a frequent flyer card, a drive-thru window, and ample seating inside the cutely decorated space. They have a complete coffee menu (you know, lattes, mochas and such) and an almost overwhelming boba tea menu with creative, interesting flavors for the adventurous. I'm somewhat boba naive, but my blended mango milk tea was amazing and I had to slow myself down so it wouldn't disappear too quickly. I also sampled the classic milk tea (yum!), blended strawberry (meh), and my friend's blended taro/coconut (genius!). It's an unassuming storefront on the outside and the parking lot is set up oddly; I used to work in this neighborhood and wish it was there when I was around. Will definitely be back for more boba and to try the coffee on my next visit to NorCal. read more

We come to redding to visit family quite often. Mostly I'm surprised redding even has a boba place, but we finally tried it today. Black tea with coconut milk and boba. That's our regular. The tea is super weak, it's pretty tasteless. That's really disappointing and the tea is kind of the whole point, so I don't know if we will come back. Also not sure what kind of coconut milk they use, even though I'm surprised and happy they offer it, but I think it must be the refrigerated carton kind as it's not very good and might be flavored or sweetened. If they make stronger tea and use full fat coconut milk I will return. read more

So excited for this little place to grow and be successful! Stopped in early on a Sunday as it was one of the few coffee places that is independently owned and actually open! I ordered a chai latte - it was amazing! Definitely the best I've ever had: it wasn't overly sweet (as many places make them) and the spices were rich and savory. Stopped in again recently, again ordered a chai latte; not as good as the first that I had. It still had the rich spices as before, but this time it was much sweeter. I will need to order a 3rd to know which one was the fluke! Ordered a Banh Mi combo sandwich: big sandwich with very flavorful meats, some carrots and cucumber, jalapenos, and a light sauce. Can't be beat for under $4! I definitely will be giving this place more business! read more

Okay, so to be fair, we are Boba snobs from San Francisco Bay Area, so it would be hard to impress us. One of the things that our family likes to do on vacation -- don't judge -- is to try the local boba offerings. And while I understand that Redding is not in the middle of nowhere, we were a bit surprised to see that not only are there multiple places that service boba, but one place that was dedicated to it. So we added a stop at Boba Tea and Coffee to the itinerary just before the Shasta Caverns and Sundial Bridge. In short, for the location and context it was pretty good. The space was nice with a few tables for seating. Service was friendly and fast. We all like our tea, but the boba was not as flavorful as we are used to. Def worth a retry and a Redding visit, but if you are expecting San Francisco Bay Area level boba, not so much. read more

I went to this shop a few days ago. When I came in no one greeted me and just looked at me. They were rude after I ordered my drinks and food and they looked like they didn't even want to work. I went to the bathroom to use it and I saw a dead cockroach on the floor and the mouse traps they have in the back room. This place is dirty when you take a closer look and needs to me closed down for health reasons and inspections. Do not go here if you want healthy and clean food and drinks. I have to say though the drinks are good but there are ice chunks in the blended up drinks still. I also got a ham and steam pork banh mi sandwich and the cilantro was bad and black. DISGUSTING. And they barely have anything in stock. They need to be closed down for a few months to do some changes and cleaning. This isn't acceptable. read more

The flavored boba tea and tapioca pearls are absolutely amazing. So far the raspberry passion fruit is the best. The customer service is amazing and for a cute little cafe the place is very well kept. There's a really great selection on the menu to choose from whether it be Teas, flavored drinks (like the one above), infused Red Bull's, and even sandwiches. I have yet to try the food but will update this review accordingly. There's always new specials and different drink variations to try and the prices aren't that bad. I recommend you give this a try, if you like tea and want a quick pit stop for brunch this is one of the best places to go to so far. read more

I was pleasantly surprised to find a boba place in Redding! It was almost lunch so I ordered a mango green milk tea boba and a bbq pork bahn mi. The mango boba is a little too sweet and too artificial tasting, but the boba were perfect. The bahn mi was on point. The bread was light, airy, with a crunchy exterior. I forgot to ask for no onion so I had to pick the onion pieces out, but that's when I realize there is a light layer of pate! It was delicious! Great milk teas!!! They don't seal the top like other places but I don't need that. And I love their boba. They have the most awkward drive- thru ever lol. It's a corner and it's not really a drive-thru. You'll see. And if you want a sandwich, you cannot order it in the drive-through unless you called it in. Coming from someone who had no idea what "boba" was (and not a tapioca pudding fan), I gave this place a try with no expectations. I went through the drive thru and ordered an iced white mocha with almond milk and boba. Knowing nothing about tapioca pearls, I was surprised to see that they were black and they were flavorless. I was given a large straw to drink them through, but since they are rather big, I wasn't sure whether to chew them or swallow them? Haha if you chew them, they are extremely sticky! And they are uncomfortably too big to swallow... Since they are flavorless and don't necessarily affect the flavor of my drink, I give my 3-star rating due to the coffee just being OK. I likely wouldn't come back due to preference. read more

I wasn't into boba tea until a few months ago and now I'm a bit of an addict. I love the creamy yumminess of the Thai tea with boba. It's really tasty. I've also tried the taro, but it's got a really flowery aftertaste that I'm not fond of. I wish the staff there were a bit friendlier and more informative to us that are not familiar with the ways of the boba tea. I find that this isn't the most personable of establishments, but the place is cute and clean and they get the orders out efficiently, with zero pomp or circumstance. They have a handy drive-thru (of which I haven't used) that seems to always be populated. Prices are super reasonable and they have a punch card if you are a frequent visitor. The sandwiches are good as well, exactly as described, but ingredients are fresh and a sandwich is filling. I give a strong four stars for the product, but it falters a bit on service. read more

I live in the bay where boba is on every corner. I always get the lavender, black, milk tea, with no extra sweet. It is to die for. The BBQ pork sandwich is amazing and huge for the price. I managed to get two medium teas and a sandwich for 11bucks! WOW! The staff is also super sweet and helpful. After a lifetime of coffee drinking, I recently found my new favorite! Boba is a quaint and delightful small shop that invites you in for a large selection of different coffees and teas. The staff is so friendly that the very first time I visited I felt like I was being served by a life-long friend. Even on just my second trip in, the employee remembered what I had ordered the last time I had been in. I will be returning regularly! Since my initial review, I have returned to Boba's a number of times. Well, I tried, but there has been a major problem. The hours have been ridiculously inconsistent. They were opening at 8:00 when I first visited them, and that changed to 9, which already seemed a bit late and odd for a coffee shop, considering that people are often getting coffee on their way to work. However, today, when I planned to meet a friend there at 9, I arrived only to find that the hours have now been changed to 10-7. What is happening? If it is a matter of payroll hours, think about the revenue lost in traffic lost! I will not be returning, as there are too many other options who go above and beyond to be open when I expect to see a coffee shop open. read more

One of the best boba places in the north state! I find excuses to travel the hour from our house to come here. Their Thai tea is awesome! We have tried the lavender and taro, both delicious. If you're feeling adventurous try the grass jelly, totally interesting. Have also have popping pearls which are so fun! I tried the peach and passion fruit with green tea and star berry pooping pearls. The service is great and so helpful in finding delicious combos for the taste buds.
