Arguably the best "Redding exclusive" food option. When Panera Bread fails in its generic overpriced hospital food options, From the Hearth picks up the slack and slays. This particular location (Churn Creek Rd.) is the best out of all 3 stores in the city in regards to interior and general vibes. The prices are a bit high, but in contrast to its contenders, I know what I'm getting and I'm happy when I go. My personal favorite is the Peruvian Steak Sandwich (specifically with subbed-in sourdough bread) and truffle fries. Sizing of things like the fries admittingly have shrank since I first went three years ago sadly. I have yet to have anything bad off the menu that didn't please my tastebuds. First time going here while we're on our way to Mt. Shasta. Place is nice and all their breakfast menu are really good. We tried this breakfast burrito and its so good. Their coffee also is good: i ordered my favorite mocha. The only thing we didn't like about is the matcha. I liked this place mostly. Quick service and friendly. Decently priced. A little sad at the lack of knowledge of what's gluten free on their menu. When asking if they use tamari or gluten free soy sauce, she said she wasn't sure and pointed to a list of salad dressing options that were marked. Not their rice bowls toppings - heads up- it's regular soy sauce. Also since I was asking all the gluten free questions, it would have been nice to be informed that the tacos were also served on flour tortillas. Not the cashier or the menu indicated this. Luckily I do not have a severe allergy, or I'd be furious. Obviously this place is a bakery, so there's gluten everywhere. I'm not mad, honestly. Just a little disappointed. Any information is best. I got the chimichurri steak tacos, which are covered in chipotle aioli - I'd honestly rename them to be chipotle steak tacos. Get zero chimichurri, the aioli completely takes over. I do like the steak isn't tough though, so still get some points for the attempt. We are visiting from out of town and had super good food here last year so we decided to go again. The food is STILL good. The service is leaving something to be desired. I say this because we got takeout from them three times in the span of a week and each time, despite verbal confirmation the orders were incorrect. We were at the location downtown. The place was so dirty. I was just chopped at how an ill care it is the kitchen has food all over the floor. Looks like it's been there for days on in and just dirty. Our food was half Measure. The fries were so greasy we couldn't even eat them. This used to be our favorite place to come no longer. I've also experienced this at some of their other locations with their cleanliness dirtiness and their lack of employees to serve their customers as well I would encourage them to shut down downsize have a slight couple of places and take care of them better. Interior was nothing special, was a bit dirty as there were tables not wiped of and stuff on the floor. Very casual and very local. The food, Humm....... Well the pork was over salted and so much barely edible. The bowl it came in overall was not well balanced in seasoning with nothing but salt as it was overpowering. The ahi tuna bowl was dry and what dressing there was was too little. The base was bland and if it were not for the little bit of dressing it would have no flavor. The two desserts (a double chocolate chip cookie and a salted caramel apple pie) were not good at all. Looked good in the case however not the case. Cookie was like a rock and dried out. Not the brownie texture we were lead to believe. The Pie, was a teaspoon of some filling but mostly crust and that was like eating sand. The reason for two stars was just the service. read more

But it's 2022 and Putin hates everyone and this is his fault. I had the jerk chicken bowl which was tasty, I like their rice a lot. It was not as spicy as I would prefer but still had a decent kick. Probably plenty for most people. My lunch date had the bbq chicken salad and the dressing was tangy-a nice add for the fries we tried (fries were so-so. Not amazing). This place is crowded, a good thing really if you're not in a hurry because it means the food is good. The staff are friendly (too friendly....is the beer free for staff??? I don't know). We came here twice on our road trip; once for lunch and once for breakfast, and both times the food tasted like it was made from quality ingredients, and they were hearty portions. For lunch we had the Kahlua Pulled Pork sandwich (deconstructed as a salad) and it was really tasty. For breakfast we had a bean bowl (the name escapes me) that was supposed to come with Queso Fresco on ; the ingredients were good but the cheese tasted like crumbled goat cheese rather than Queso Fresco, and this threw off the whole flavor of the bowl; adding some salsa made the dish work out okay, but they do need to make sure to get some authentic Mexican queso fresco in there that really has that punchy flavor to it. The atmosphere inside and out is bland, but if you are looking to fill up your belly with some good quality ingredients this is the place to come. read more
