Best chai tea latte in town. Macarons were light and fluffy, but for some reason none of the flavours I tried stood out. I'm a passion fruit macaron addict, but the ones at Bobbette just didnt blast me with flavor. This place must be where all the cool kids go. I did not want to leave, the place was totally me. Reclaimed wood tables, cool white palette, romantic with a twist of chic-rustic. I felt royal just breathing the air lol. They have a lot to offer, and I wish I had ordered more than just macarons. I've never been to their actual store, but I tried their macarons at a Yelp event. They were the best macarons I've ever had, including those I tried in Paris. The marshmallow was gooey without being too sweet, the salted caramel was the perfect combination of salty and sweet, and the chocolate had the slightly crispy quality of the top of a brownie. Super cute decor, and a bit of a doe-eyed bride's dream stop over. The interior design is ultra sophisticated and a joy to be in to enjoy a slice of cake. But then there's the cakes...dry, with that buttercream frosting that you think will taste sweet but only tastes like sweet-ish soft butter. Marshmallows were good, as were the in-house beverages. But if the cake isn't right, then you're missing the point. I'd really say 2.5 stars but I'll round up to 3. read more

I visited Bobette and Belle on Queen St and ordered 6 different cupcakes. I noticed on entering the store at 4:45pm, 15 min before close, that they were still doing a bustling business. It is a large store, clean, light and has a nice selection and lots of seating. The cupcakes were absolutely delicious and set the standard for all cupcakes to come which is too bad for the other bakeries I've tried. The red velvet is usually my least fave anywhere but here it was amazing! They use a buttercream cream cheese light airy frosting that is not overpowering and just melts. The cake is moist and divine. The chocolate is excellent. The vanilla is actually light and spongy and not heavy or dense at all like vanilla cakes can be. I tried various other flavors including the salted caramel and all were good. read more

My sisters wedding was over the labour weekend (2013); and oringally had it from Le Dolci.. but due to them being shut down for investigation we went to Bobbette & Belle - 4 days before the wedding - we met with Sarah and told her the situation. Not even a hesitation and she said the cake could be done! A four tier with four different flavours. The cake was gone by the end of the night! It was absolutely delicious and wonderful! We appreciate Bobbette & Belle coming to our rescue on such short notice and providing the best cake we've ever had! read more

Came here for a sweet treat date last weekend. We had the apple tart and chocolate hazelnut cake. Both were so so good and I would definitely get them both again. Would have given this place 5 stars if the service was better (they were out of water and made it seem like an annoyance when we asked them to refill the jug, also not super personable in general...good thing the treats are great here to make up for it!) and if seating were better. I absolutely love Bobbette and Belle! Four days before my wedding last summer my cake place (Le Dolci) was shut down because of the fiasco at the ex. My parents called Bobbette and Belle in a panic as the wedding was three days away and it was a 4-tier cake. Sarah Belle was more than pleased to design our cake and did a phenomenal job! She met with my parents and put them at ease and designed the cake exactly how we asked from the picture we showed. They were even able to place the bobblehead I ordered on the top of the cake which Le Dolci told me was impossible to do. The cake was a huge hit and people still rave to us about how good it was. Everyone had a piece and it was gone by the end of the night! My husband and I froze the top tier and enjoyed it for a month after the wedding. I get my desserts and pastries from there when visiting family from out of town to bring them everytime. It is always fresh and always consistent. I love their cupcakes and cookies. Everyone is always so pleasant and friendly. Definitely a must go to place if you are in Leslieville or even a short trek from the Beaches (we do the trek monthly!). read more

A friend brought a few cake pops and macarons in to work last night and they were absolutely amazing. I haven't enjoyed either before as much as I did last night. It was a salted caramel macaron and a chocolate cake pop. Not being one for sweets, I was taken back with how much I loved them. This place is like a dream. We go for coffee and a dessert in the summer and we had Bobbette & Belle do our wedding desserts. They made me the most beautiful cupcakes, cookies, macaroons, and large cake for my wedding. The wedding cakes were too expensive so I ordered a larger bakery cake which was hundreds of dollars cheaper and they made this sugar floral detail on top. It looked PERFECT. Had to delay the festivities for over an hour and had the guest of honor leave prior to the product arriving! Called them to order a cake 30 days in advance, was told no problem and to call 72 hours prior to place order instead. called 72 hours prior and told they would not do my order. I reminded them that they told me there was no problem with my order and that I only needed to call 72 hours in advance. This little scenario left me without a cake and a very bitter experience. Like most things Toronto - faux-French flair being sold at authentic prices. Next time you are there please use the bathroom and when you walk through the back store you'll notice they employ only Asians to do the actual prepping/baking and front of the house is all white. Just a garbage business model that would make you think they fly in pastry masters from France! Amazing carrot cake though...best I've ever had :) read more

My favourite little café in Leslieville! The interior is spacious and bright, with giant windows looking out onto Queen St. I always order a cup of tea and an excellent macaroon, and the people who work there don't mind if you set up camp and work for several hours. The place always smells incredible, and there are bouquets of fresh plants and flowers on each of the tables, which really adds to the cheery atmosphere. And if you need to visit the powder room you get to walk through the kitchen and see all the cakes being decorated. Something about this place makes me feel super fancy when I visit...which I guess is why I've just used the term "powder room" for the first time in my life, haha. read more

Had the opportunity to visit Bobbette and Belle over the holidays. I read an article that they are suppose to be like the Magnolia of Canada. (i wouldn't go that far....) It was a beautiful store. The cakes are stunning. I tried their red velvet whoopie pies. I must say, I was a bit disappointed. It had a vanilla filling, but not enough. It was dry and crumbly. I would not go back for that. The caramels were yummy. Marshmallows weren't too bad. Macarons were a hit and miss. The salted caramel macaron was great. Texture was good, and flavour was definitely there. However I tried a few other flavours, raspberry - lacking the raspberry flavour, pistachio- could not tell it was pistachio, chocolate - had a bit of a funny after taste to the ganache, lemon - made with lemon curd, not a fan of lemon curd, it left an eggy taste. I'd visit again if I was in the area to try some other goodies, but I would skip on the whoopie pies and french macarons. read more

We tried a few different kinds, the carrot cake, strawberry champagne and the salted caramel. The all were bland and tasteless, the icing waxy and greasy. I ordered a Mango Passion Fruit buttercream infused 6" birthday cake from the Yonge Street location. This is probably the worst experience I have had with a cake and based on the price that I paid I expected a mouth watering experience. I purchased the cake, picked up the cake at 4 PM and served it that day approximately an hour and a half later. I was expecting a fresh cake however I experienced the following; the buttercream was hard and paste like, as if it had been sitting out for some time, the buttercream left not only a bad taste in my mouth but was also very hard to swallow as the cake itself underneath was very dry and crumbly. The only saving grace of this cake was the mango passion fruit infused buttercream which was between two layers of cake. Not only am I disappointed with the cake as it was for a special birthday but I was also embarrassed as I had been raving about this cake for a week and it was highly disappointing. To add insult to injury those who ate the "buttercream paste" that covered the entire cake as opposed to many people who ate the inside of the cake and left the buttercream had severe stomach pains shortly after. read more
