In 2018 I had Lance Boyd with Canac Roofing replace my roof after a bad hail storm. He replaced the…read moreroof on my brand new $10,000 cedar patio cover as well. Before he started, he mentioned that the standard nails may be too long and told me he would buy shorter nails so they did not come through the decking of my patio. Well, he obviously did not because I had dozens of nails sticking through and cracking the cedar. It looked terrible! Lance then insisted that he could repair the holes by clipping the nails and filling the holes with wood putty. When I refused and insisted that the cedar decking be replaced and the cover reroofed, Lance tried to use inferior materials. I insisted on the exact same materials being used and I even purchased the correct nails ($100) myself. The cover was replaced but the workmanship was far inferior to the original. Lance berated me when I expressed my displeasure. He yelled at me and complained about how much this job was costing him. Even though it was due to his own mistakes and bad workmanship. I was very upset with the way he spoke to me. I also paid to have the patio cover restained myself. ($675) Thankfully I had not yet paid in full and still owed him $1500, since he still had never repaired my chimney ($800), which was part of the estimate he gave me. The chimney was never repaired. 2 years later my patio cover is leaking. I had 2 different roofers take a look at it. They noted that there is a void where the patio cover meets the house. There is no decking in that area and the shingles have warped and melted, causing a leak. The flashing was also not sufficient. I called Lance to repair it, since he had given a 5 year warranty on his work. As expected, he was rude, disrespectful and called me a thief and the "worst customer ever"! He insisted that I still owe him $900 which is not true! He never had the chimney repaired ($800) and I had paid for the nails ($100) and staining ($675) myself. This all totaled $1575, $75 more than the $1,500 I still owed him. After the nightmare I went through with him, I will be paying a professional to repair his shoddy work. I am writing this so others will be warned. Do not use this Canac roofing, you will be sorry I wish I could give this company zero stars.

I only found out about this after complaining about their crew destroying my neighbors landscaping and some of my bushes were cut in half by falling shingles and one of my patio chairs was tossed into my flowerbed next to my back fence and damaged. it belonged to my deceased mother and I had spent a great deal of money having it refurbished. The owner called to say he was going to repair my neighbors landscaping and pay for the repair on my chair. That is when he told me that they contacted my insurance about the decking being replaced. They never contacted me about that until it was done. I had my chair powder coated and replaced the fabric. Now it has to be re-powder coated and the fabric replaced again. I doubt he's going to do anything about that. They brought my neighbor 6 pieces of sod and just laid it on his walkway area. Real professional. I'm so embarrassed that this happened to him so I'm doubting anything will happen for my chair. This company need to have their licence taken away if they even have a licence. I will be reporting them to the Better Business Bureau for what ever good that does. Horrible experience!! Stay away!
