My fellow Yelp friend hosted a party at the Bobby Hotel rooftop bar in Nashville renting out the vintage cruiser and it was such a good time!!! We enjoyed drinks, food, and games together, with heated lamps keeping us warm and an incredibly attentive staff. I started with the espresso martini flight of butterscotch, salted caramel, and peppermint. Small pours but strong, and you could definitely feel the liquor. Then I had an Old Fashioned called Yule Be Fine, and of course we all took white tea shots. For food, I sampled the veggie plate (freaking amazing - lightly sweet), nachos (made with potato wedges), wood-fired French dip sliders (the best out of everything), and the campfire spinach dip skillet (so rich). Everything was delicious and absolutely perfect for sharing at a party! It was truly such a lovely time and would recommend the space for any larger groups, it can accommodate up to 15 and it's really intimate and cozy, yet spacious enough for everyone to relax! read more

Let's start with why we decided to check this place out. First, it's Xmas and it's super cute. Ok. That's pretty much it. We reserved the igloo which was $26 including tax and requires a $200 minimum for food for the 2 hr window. It seats 6 comfortably. They offer valet for $15. There's street parking if you're able to find it. Take the left elevator - the other two are for guests to get to their rooms and you'll need a keycard to use them. We ordered the whole menu of snacks and that was entirely too much food. They are nice portions and more than enough to share. The drinks were reasonably price unless you ask for ann no premium liquor like Tito's. That's a $6 up charge per drink. There are heaters under the igloos so you'll be warm. We went to the rooftop at Hotel Bobby because it is often a destination for pop up bars in the winter. I was surprised that we were given very expensive drinks in plastic cups, but I'm sure it's because the pool is right there. I loved all of the different places to sit and chat or work, but it was so hot the day we went. It's very hard to see a lot of Nashville from this rooftop, it might be easier from the pool but we were not staying there so we could not access the pool. Now the place, cool spot, great seating, views, well decorated, probably better at night, wouldn't go during the day again. Pool is very small, about the size of two normal hot tubs with lots of overflowing water around the pool area. Every other lounge area was dry. What you can expect from service. The atmosphere is awesome, you're on the roof of the hotel, greeted by the most friendly, caring manager- Jodi! The best waiter and bar staff! Such a welcoming feeling. The atmosphere was so cool! You can have dinner in an igloo on a rooftop with awesome Nashville music! We just wanted a burger, we got so much more! So many appetizers on the menu, don't be fooled, the size of the apps are huge, the presentation is beautiful and omg- sweet potatoes stuffed with Thanksgiving yumminess! Review for Bobby's Rooftop Lounge Well obviously the first thing everyone mentions is the BUS...of course it is fun and worth getting your picture taken driving. The cocktails at the bar were okay but not great...it was so crowded for the music and not worth the long wait times. I got the spiced pear which unfortunately tasted like a Christmas drink rather than a refreshing summer drink. The watermelon margarita was a little better but I didn't like the basil. High prices and long lines for just okay drinks is disappointing. I find it extremely upsetting that they do not recycle - just no excuse for this apathy! It was nice that they offered free water but friends said it tasted like sewer water so I bought a bottled water. As for the music, the band The Dip was really great- cool sounds and easy going performance- but it was so overcrowded we couldn't see the band and kept getting pushed out of our "spot" For the lucky few who had gotten a seat they couldn't see either and had to look at jealous faces all night. If you can afford it they do have 4 cabanas you can reserve/rent but the views of the stage are not good. I would recommend just going and relaxing when it isn't so crowded. After several visits it is starting to feel more like a tourist trap than a cool local hangout Just go after brunch for a great view and some cornhole. I visited the rooftop lounge at the Bobby Hotel with a friend when we were having a fun day together. I don't live in Nashville anymore, but she still does. Downtown isn't really our scene, but we thought it would be fun to check out a downtown bar since we were out down downtown already for something else. The drinks were fine. I wasn't feeling anything listed on the small featured cocktail menu, so I just went with Titos and soda. My friend did try one of the featured cocktails. The drinks are average (slightly expensive for a well cocktail in a plastic cup, but it's downtown Nashville!), and the service was good (fast, nice). We were there around 4pm on a Friday, and it wasn't busy. It has some great views and lots of seating. Definitely a nice place downtown for a drink with friends if you want a rooftop patio with views that isn't too crowded (at least early). Ultimately, I think it's more a place for tourists but it was still a good time for my friend and I who wanted a chill drink downtown. read more

So this little place is probably one of the best spots in Nashville. It's a hidden rooftop bar on top of the Bobby Hotel with amazing views of the city. It was a cold night in February so they actually closed off one side of the bar which was understandable. It was a uncomfortable cold, but the service, views, setting, made you forget you couldn't feel your face or toes. We had a few chai old Fashions that warmed the soul while we sat by a fire-pit overlooking their igloos. 4.5 The Bobby keeps getting it right. The hotel had a quieter opening but it's been hitting on all cylinders since the doors opened. From the dramatic staircase and chandelier to the well-apportioned F&B outlets, you can tell time and effort went in to making the magic. You'll see lots of evidence of this in their rooftop (everybody's gotta have one these days) bar, Rooftop Lounge.* As a newer entrant to the Nashville roof game, it's not as packed as some other options... but this won't be the case for long. Thinking that I'd stumbled upon a hidden gem, I was somewhat surprised to see how many people packed the place during an early summer Saturday evening. So, if you want to check it out with some (relative) elbow room, come now. It's only going to get more crowded. And that will be for good reason. There are four distinct areas that make the lounge so attractive. There's the open back patio with views of the Batman building and Nissan Stadium. While there's not much seating back here, there's plenty of room and on a nice evening, space to dance if ever the lounge had a private event/DJ. Just putting that out there. The bar is very attractive but not that large. The build out is cool and the seating is comfortable (not something you can take for granted) but it gets very crowded and the bar staff isn't the best. In fact, they kept me from rounding up in my review. None of the three bartenders working were very polite, observant or helpful. This isn't a good thing. You're a bartender. In a rooftop bar/lounge. In a hotel. Hospitality is #1 (even, dare I say, more important than cocktail expertise). I know everything is still pretty new but management has got to get ahead of this problem. It detracts from everything else. Moving away from the bar, the seated lounge area is very scene-y. With loads of interesting and comfortable seating, you'll want to spend time lounging, cavorting and looking at who's looking at you. The crown jewel, though, is the bus. The rooftop boasts an airstream bus in which you can sit (again, in three areas), take photos and lounge like a boss. This is the most competitive seating in the lounge. If you want it, come early and come prepared to sit closely with strangers. But, what about the drinks? They're pretty good, for the most part. In the name of science, I tried many. Here's what I thought. Rose' All Day: the summer drink you've been waiting for. Served in a flute, the combo of rose', bitters and St. Germain is the sweet, light drink that will get you feeling good. Bobby's Go-To was the least successful. I'm wondering if it was the execution because the description was promising: bourbon, vermouth, maple syrup, cardamom, and lavender. The drink was bitter and not at all aromatic. Surprising. I'd try it again because it should have been a home run. The Entry-Level got the show back on track: gin, ruby red vodka, wine, and lemon made for a bright, citrusy fun drink... a bit too much fun. This drink will sneak up on you. And because I am just that dedicated to supplying y'all with pertinent info, I finished the night with the Sweet & Spicy: vodka, raspberry liqueur, ginger beer, and lime deliver exactly what's advertised - a sweet & spicy drink. Being a hotel rooftop, cocktails will set you back $13/$14 a pop. I'm not digging this trend at all. Nashville is not NYC. Adjust prices, people. But, I suppose, if people (like me) pay them... Bottom line: check it out. Come ready to take photos and see pretty people. Get here sooner than later because by the end of summer, it's going to be a standing room only crowd. Idk about the actual hotel, as in rooms. This review is for the rooftop bar and restaurant. Came here this weekend for a birthday outing. There was a group of 13 and we met at the rooftop bar. It was a little chilly, but that didn't matter. The day warmed up anyway. The old bus was so cute and had seating for us all. There was only one bartender, but she managed to keep up. There is a cute pool and lounge area for warmer days. It's such a cute spot for day drinking. There a couple areas you can chose to sit. Our celebration host had called prior and asked about food at the rooftop. She was told yes, but that day we were told no. So we called downstairs to see about seating for our large group. They said they couldn't accommodate us; which was very frustrating as there were only about 10 people downstairs. We sent some of the guys down to see what the problem was. After some talking, we were told we could get sat in 20 minutes. Finally. When we walked down (aka took the elevator) there were a total of about 5 people In the restaurant and one huge table that sat 16. We got sat at a couple tables they had pushed together. So I'm not really understanding why they were making such a fuss to seat us. We ordered our drinks and our food. Menu wasn't too big, so not a lot of options, but we were all starving. I got a burger and fries and it was delicious. It had some chili ketchup that had the perfect amount of sweetness. My pineapple Moscow mule was perfect. Lol. All in all, it's a great spot. I booked the igloo thing - looked cool, had some business guests in town and thought it might be a nice way to enjoy some business conversation, have a few drinks and dinner outside. The igloo thing was cool and enjoyable - everything fell apart from that point. Things you should know (Cost wise): $25.00 - Just to book the igloo $125.00 minimum commitment for food and beverage (seems reasonable for 3 people) Now the fun part: Limited menu - that is fine - a burger, hot chicken sandwich, fries, etc... By the way - we tried to order a drink at the bar and we were ignored, pushed to the igloo "your server will be right with you". 15 minutes later - the single serving person did show up and took our drink order, Another 10 minutes to get that order and there was a very limited number of people on the rooftop. Personable young person - did the best she could i guess. Asked for her recommendations on the French Dip Sandwich vs the Hot Chicken sandwich. Glowing suggestion on the French Dip Sandwich (most expensive item on the menu @ $35.00) - thought it was a bit high for a sandwich but - we were after the experience. Food was delivered in a somewhat timely manner and then the wheels came off the cart: French Dip Sandwich (let me say again - French (DIP). What i received was a sandwich on WONDER BREAD that I could have made at home with roast beef and when i screwed up toasting the bread - i would have eaten it anyway. No DIP for the sandwich and no garnishment of any kind - Did i notate that it costs $35.00. I thought i was a mistake so i waited to ask (10 minutes later for the next waitress visit) - she LAUGHED and this was her response: "Yea - everyone asks about that - it is actually NOT a french dip sandwich - I guess it is just a french sandwich". SHOCKED AT THIS RESPONSE! - The darn sandwich costs $35.00 So - lets just summarize the BILL! This is where it gets VERY Interesting: This is what you will pay at the Bobby Hotel Rooftop: Side order Fries: $18.00 (they really sucked) 2 French Dip Sammys: $70.00 1 Burger: $18.00 3 bourbons: $42.00 3 bourbons: $60.00 (they were miraculously out of the lower cost item) So - we are at $208.00 for food and beverage Now lets add in the the extras that The Bobby does NOT bother to inform: Automatic Gratuity: $37.44 Food/Retail tax @ 9.75%: $10.34 Liq/Wine Sales tax @ 9.25%: $9.44 Liq / Wine tax @ 15%: $15.30 In summary: $280.52 for the following: 2 of the worst made sandwiches I have ever seen - no dipping sauce (a blind person with the wrong ingredients would have made a better sandwich out of dirt) 1 crappy cheeseburger 1 crappy side order of fries 1 service person serving all of the people that were on the rooftop (so slow service) This was one of the most disappointing experiences of my lifetime. I get it - staff issues are always a challenge and they are understandable in our current climate - that does NOT mean that the servers could be "forthwith" regarding the hidden charges and full detail of the food menu. So all in - $305.52 for 3 people to eat a sandwich that a 3 year old could make, food was terrible, service was not forthwith and we all left hungry. We came here Christmas Day for the igloos they have and we had such a great time! We were blessed with amazing weather so we didn't even need the heat on- but it is so nice they have that option. It's so cozy inside- there are blankets and pillows that help make it feel unique and special. They also offered complimentary cider which was delicious and another nice touch. The food and drinks were all amazing- we got to try such a fun variety of things, finishing off with a boozy hot chocolate which was delicious! I wanted to leave a follow up review after my experience last night because it left such a bad taste in my mouth. I returned here with a friend to check out the holiday drink menu and the igloos that they post all over social media. First thing we did was go to the bar to check out the drink menu. There were only two bartenders and really should have been about 3-4, easily. While we waited 15ish minutes to be served one cocktail each, we observed the bartender being a bit of a smart ass to the patrons. They were out of one of their signature drinks (rookie move, but excusable if that's the only offense). The bartender told the customer that they should "have it back in a few minutes" and when the customer asked if she knew how long, the bartender snapped back with a "I DON'T KNOW, A FEW MINUTES" while giving an annoyed look and turning around to do something else. I told this same bartender three different times that I needed a water with my cocktail, but she wouldn't make it for me before taking my money first. Absolutely terrible attitude and I don't know how she makes any money working for tips. Oh, except for the fact that she gave me a $5 bill back for change instead of 5 ones. The drink ("Snoball") was also super bitter. I didn't even finish it. The ambiance was weird last night. We were thinking the igloos were going to be super cool, but they actually ended up being made of a weird cheap plastic material and were brightly lit on the inside. I had considered renting one for an outing for about 10 people that I held a few weeks ago, and was immediately glad that I hadn't. NOT WORTH THE MONEY. I loved our igloo experience at the Bobby so I thought I'd write review on that specifically since I have not had the opportunity to stay there yet. Igloos were a pretty hot winter trend in major cities throughout the country in 2018 so I was elated to hear that the Bobby had a rooftop installation. The hotel rooftop is open to everyone and reservations are not required but during the winter season if you want to guarantee an igloo you have to book in advance and commit to a food and beverage minimum. The reservation is for a three hour time slot and that's with a dedicated server. Booking was pretty straight forward and most of the details were available online. Matthew was really responsive and was nice enough call to confirm our reservation the day off. Each heated igloo can accommodate up to 10 but that would be tight...so shoot for 8. The cocktail menu was pretty limited to fun winter themed cocktails like Spike Apple Cider, Yule Tide Toddy, Boozy Hot Chocolate. We also decided to go with short rib nachos that were decent but hey I was there for nachos I wanted to chill in an igloo and for that reason alone I gave the experience 5 stars. read more
