    Tandoori chaap

I have been here once before and did to go. I don't recommend all the hot food to go. I decided to try this place today with fam and we all loved this place! Definitely do dine in! We got the items below: - tandoori soya chaap 11/10 - mix paratha w/ yogurt and achar 9/10 - chili paneer and garlic naan 8/10 - amritsari chole kulcha 8/10 Service: great, no complains! The 2 gentlemen were super helpful! Ambiance: chill, casual, the place was on and off packed

Hands down best samosas in Elk Grove/ Sacramento. Great service, with lots of food and pastry options. Check it out!! Anthonyxibarrax

This place is so great! I can only speak to the bakery treats, but I am sure the food is great. I have not had Indian sweets in over a decade and this week I was visiting Sac, and stumbled upon this place. The burfee and chamcham were so delicious and I loved how many different flavors they had. The best part was they told me that can ship some of those treats out of state, so I can't wait to take advantage of that! The staff were so friendly and answered any and all questions I had. I really recommend it!

Best Indian food in the Sacramento area. I highly recommend the chicken kathi roll. Plus, you can get some sweets to go for later.

I came here to get a snack to go for my sister and I and got the samosas. The price was totally reasonable, 4 pieces for $8.90 after tax. I was surprised when I opened the bag because the samosas were bigger than I thought, almost the size of a baseball!! Inside it were potatoes, peas, and paneer. It was so delicious with the chutneys as well. At the store, there were a wide variety of desserts and they even had freshly juiced oranges, carrots, and pineapple! Everything is made fresh in house and to order. The guy at the front taking my order was very nice and was great at telling me about their business. There was plenty of seating inside as well! I'm sad I've never tried this place before, but I definitely will be back to try other items!!

It's hard to tell this is actually a restaurant based off of the name, but we were next door and noticed their photos of meals on their windows so we stopped in to grab some takeout. When you walk in there is a whole case of all types of really pretty Indian desserts! The menu is down at the end of the counter. We ordered two butter chicken rice bowls and naan to go. I thought it was odd that they didn't have us pay until it was done. But while we were waiting I asked to pay already, so that we could just go when the food was ready. It was hot and stuffy inside and there is barely room to wait in there unless you're going to take up a table for dine-in guests. The chef had brought it over to me when it was ready though which was nice because it was difficult for me to get over to the counter with a stroller since the aisles are very narrow. Portion was kinda small, it's best for lunch or a small meal, but at least it was under $10. I only had about 5 chunks of meat in mine. The sauce and flavor was good though and not too spicy. The naan is a very large portion and you get two pieces, but it's also on the thin side and not as fluffy as I would like. Overall it satisfied the butter chicken craving but wasn't the best version.

Wow this place is such a hidden gem! While only being open for 3 months I really hope this place does really well with its future here. Such a large selection of delectable sweet treats I didn't even know where to start! The gentleman behind the counter was so sweet and helpful while helping us select some treats we've never seen or heard of before. They sell these treats by weight and the pricing to me is kind of under charged! Each piece taste like it was made with love. The colors just pop and look amazing in a variety box. Below I have posted the treats we went home with. Everyone in our household really enjoyed these! They do also have a restaurant to sit at and dine at. We didn't get a chance to eat lunch there but hope to in the near future!

Very friendly owners and they have a wide variety of Indian desserts. We ordered some treats as well as the tandoori. Looking forward to visiting again!

It's not often that I visit autehtic Indian cuisine…read more I grew up Texas and the Bay area most of my life and honestly only visited buffet type establishments in the past. Recently moving to Elk Grove, I was was surprised to see so many different restaurants and multiple food choices. That said, our group last night decided to try Indian food. Wow! And I mean a big smiled tummy rumbling WOW!!! Indian oven is the beast Indian food I have ever tasted! As you know, in my previous reviews, I have also taken into consideration, the ambiance, the restaurant cleanliness (Including the restrooms) and also the staffs demeanor when submitting reviews. I must admit, I am not surprised that this restaurant easily deserves five stars - on all points! If it wasn't for our server "Rinku", our group would never have realized the meticulous efforts made by ownership and staff in presenting so many varied and wonderful tasting dishes we were not previously aware of. In that, I mean, that when you go to a new restaurant, you look at the menu and you take somewhat of a chance in experiencing dishes that sound good, but having no previous experience/s there, may not receive the best tasting meal on the menu. Rinku not only explained the dishes and ingredients, he also gave a little bit of history and process involved into preparing such wonderful tasting meals - throughout. He took the time to answer our questions with as much detail, history, that was necessary for us to understand how much goes into making exceptional Indian cuisine. He highlighted the nuances involved in the preperation processes, the cooking methods, and the reasoning behind obtaining/ producing such differing textures, depths, and tones of flavors. And pointedly, I noticed that everything was very fresh, possibly and most likely made with heartfelt love for India Ovens' patrons. Once again if it wasn't for Rinkus' recommendations, we would not have known what to choose, pertaining to our personal likes, and to be honest, spiciness and heat tolerances of each individual in our group. From this point forward, I will not have any predetermined expectations of what food quality and/or flavors should/could taste like. Amongst our group, we ordered approximately eight different menu items, each with very specific and distinct flavors, and as mentioned before, wonderful textures. I (Rarely and highly) recommend family, friends, colleagues, and the general public to come here, not once, twice, but often, to experience the full menu - all in its time. I recommend that you come and experience wonderful savory Indian cuisine like no other. Thank you Rinku!

The only reason why I don't rate it 5 stars, is because when I usually order, I order to go, and they seem like they really don't care too much, when it comes to the customer service part of it. Could be because they may think I'm a delivery driver, who knows? The food itself is always good. I usually have a seafood dish, along with some samosas and some type of naan. I just get my good food and go about my business. In the end, my tastebuds thank me for it.

So we went for the butter chicken. We got two to go and it came in maybe a 18 oz container. For the price of 17 bucks, you would assume it would come with rice and naan. It did not, it was an additional 7 dollar charge which would have brought this meal to 24! Pricey! The butter chicken was great. The server (I guess...it was a buffet) greeted me warmly, and immediately got my drink order. Water was refilled, no complaints. The paintings were beautiful...and I caught myself looking at them for moments at a time. Now then...I'm working a lot of OT this week, and getting a cold. So, treat myself and help with a cold is two birds with one stone. Unfortunately, I was wrong. The butter chicken tasted like lukewarm jarred sweet and sour sauce from a Chinese restaurant...no spice, but nothing resembling any butter chicken I've tried. The chicken curry was...salty...I guess, but not much other flavor. I literally was the first customer...and the samosas were not crispy at all....too soggy. Plate 2 wasn't much better. The goat curry was the most flavorable of anything, but not the best I've had. The tandoori chicken leg I had was borderline undercover. I NEEDED spice today, people ..kill this cold. While some of your patrons are Caucasian, we're American...not British. We like spice. For $24, I expect a buffet of much higher caliber.

Disappointed that there was only 10 very small pieces of cheese in the saag. Chicken seemed skimpy also. It rates second to my favorite Indian, Bombay Grill but best in Natomas area.
