Very unimpressed. My kid ordered a soda that didn't come until we got our food, and that took a long time. Ordered chicken tikka masala which tasted really weird and nothing like it should have. It's our go to item and every Indian restaurant and we were disappointed in the flavor. Saag was decent. Garlic naan had some burnt pieces but overall fine. Service was VERY slow. The one guy working the front and kept running to the back. One table had to get up and get their own glassware and then had to ask for water. The table behind us, kept getting up and waiting for the guy to come out so he could ask his questions. Once we were visibly done eating (plates moved aside, napkins on top) we sat around waiting for a while. Finally asked as he walked by for to go boxes. Then another waiting game for the check that never came. Ended up waiting at the counter so we could pay leave. I think we ended up being there about an 1hr 10m for what was supposed to be a quick lunch. By the end, my kid said we can never try another Indian restaurant and have to stick to our usual spots. I don't know if it was an off day or what, since other reviews were mostly good but we won't be trying again. For those who do, there are about 4 regular booths and one for a larger party. read more

Was in the mood for some Indian food and decided to try a new spot by our house... the restaurant is very clean and openly beautiful .. when we sat down it took awhile to get our menu.. I got eye contact with the server and asked him for some and he apologized and gave us menus..service is on the slower end but not too bad We ordered the Amritsari kulcha .. I believe it's a stuffed bread, stuffed with spices, peas, onions and maybe potatoes? .. it came with a chick pea curry .. dish was very good and filling. We came in with no expectation as it is a new place to us but we left with a great impression & full tummies. We got butter chicken, aloo gobi, amritsari kulcha, garlic naan & mango lassi. It was all very taste especially the amritsari kulcha. Good prices, new place, could have been just a tad bit cleaner but it was 8pm & they were busy the whole time we we there. I have no idea what the negative reviews are talking about, they give the perfect spice lvl you ask for, service is friendly and punctual, food arrives in a reasonable time. Flavor is amazing naan was perfect, I had the butter paneer and it was one of the best butter sauces I've ever had very flavorful, aromatic and the perfect lvl of spicy warmth (I asked for mild and I got mild). The masala chai with sugar was a delicious cup of tea. Overall 5 stars will definitely be back! read more

I am a sucker for Mediterranean food and this place hit the spot. It's really clean land nice inside. The service was a bit slow, but there were only 2 people working there. The young lady that took care of us was very kind. My daughter and my dad lived their food. I got a wrap and it wasn't quite what I expected. Very messy, but it was good. Super excited to try this place. My sister did take out and said this place was good. Came here with the family and it's a small dinning area. There's about 4 booths for 2-4 parties and one booth that fit about 8-10 people. There's only one waiter but he provided quick service. This place did not disappoint, everything was pretty good. I saw a new restaurant open and decided to give it a try. I had their non-veg thali plate. I walked in and placed my order and it was available in about 20 minutes. Ordering was easy. Nice price point around $21. Place was clean . I ordered spicy and received mild . The dal and chicken curry was lacking salt and spices. Butter chicken was good but also could have used more salt . Roti and rice were regular. Kheer was a tad runny for my liking . More like a 2 1/2 star rating. read more

From buttery, onion-topped kulcha naan (yes, the real kind) to a lassi served in a beautiful glass, every little detail felt thoughtful--even the water jug was fancy The lamb biryani was fragrant and loaded with tender meat (no skimping!), and the chicken korma with butter naan was straight-up comfort food--easily one of the best we've had. As someone who has NEVER in their life tried Indian food,and got curious - I just want to say THAT TIKA MASALA AND GARLIC NAAN CHANGED MY LIFEEEE! So soooo delicious ! The chicken breast was just falling apart,lots of protein, the sauce was creamy and flavorful ! Even the rice was flavorful !! My husband is from England and he grew up on Indian food, so he's always looking for a good spot! Honestly, we've tried at least 10 places in the Sacramento area and this place had the least flavor. All we could taste was how spicy it was, no flavor at all. And the naan was awful! It tasted burnt, that's it, no other flavors. After eating our food, I checked the Yelp reviews and read one very disheartening review about how poorly a woman was treated. It made me ashamed that I even gave this place business, but I had already ordered. We MIGHT have tried it again had I not read that review. Too bad. read more

It's wayyyyy too spicy and not that flavorful. It seems overly spicy to cover it being flavorless. Idk. I couldn't finish it. We ordered to go and got the chicken tikka masala (mild), chicken tikka masala (medium), and butter chicken. I got the mild and my mouth was burning. My husband got medium and could barely finish it. I ate my son's butter chicken but it still didnt really have any flavor. And I didnt really like the garlic naan either. I've been to multiple Indian places and I love Indian food. When I saw there was a new Indian restaurant in the area I knew I had to try it. I love Indian food. I ordered take out- garlic naan, chicken biryani, chicken tikka masala & butter chicken. First off the garlic naan, THE BEST I'VE EVER HAD. The garlic flavor was so potent, and the naan was soft and fluffy not just a thin crisp like some other places I've had. The butter chicken & tikka masala were amazing. So much flavor. The chicken biryani was delicious as well. That also had an amazing flavor profile. I got chicken because my husband doesn't eat lamb, but next time I want try the lamb one for sure. I was in the east coast & had a ton of halal carts and I've had so much trouble finding that same exact bomb flavor here. This biryani reminded me so much of it. Lastly, I would like to thank the worker again for calling us back & being honest about my husband dropping an $100 bill when he went to pick up our order. Without a doubt we will definitely be back. Pros: - They take reservation and save a seat for you if you call in advance - Food was amazing A+ (If you want authentic Punjabi style Indian food then this is the place!!) - Food was served on time without much delay - Seating is comfortable and you get a little privacy which was amazing - They also have sweet shop (which tastes fresh and amazing) Cons: - The server lady was not the nicest, she spoke too fast, rushed and kept serving food while our table had no space. I appreciate cultural aspect but c'mon there was 0 customer service. I felt like I got transported to India and I felt like a tourist trying to catch up. (btw I am a south east asian so I know how when it becomes an issue). - After a while they stopped serving us as the evening got busier with other tables. - They served Mango Lassi + another drink mid way, usually they should serve it in the beginning. Anyways, we will probably order take out next time but food was amazing! Indian sizzle is the best Indian restaurant in Elk grove! The first time we visited, we had Kulcha, Chole. And Dal Mukhani. It was so delicious! It was so good we had to have it a second time. Today we decided to try their Tali Platter. Every single thing on the platter was delicious. In fact after 30 years of eating East Indian food, it was the best tandoori chicken I've ever had! We ordered the amritsari kulcha, samosas, mango lassi, and butter chicken. This was our first time ordering the amritsari kulcha, but we had to get it because the reviews looks so good. Luckily, it was even better than our expectations and it comes with a delicious chole (spicy chickpea curry). The mango lassi and samosas were good, but nothing too special. The dish that blew our minds was the butter chicken. It was so creamy and flavorful with tender chicken. I'm salivating just thinking about it. Disclaimer, I have not tried a whole lot of butter chicken in my life, but this butter chicken damn near changed my life. The order was quoted 25 minutes to be ready and did. If you don't like it you need to pay for something else. First we placed the order. Then we had to clean our own table. When the food came it was packed in a bag. When I got up to ask for plates. He said..You told me to go. I told him I didn't because he didn't ask. That was the person before me. He said yes you did. Since I was with my daughter I just decided to ignore his comment and just try to enjoy the food. I ordered the butter chicken for her and told him as mild as possible. I order a vegetarian app for myself that I had never had before. When I got it it was so spicy. I was scared to ask him to fix it. But it was so inedible. So I asked him if I could just get a samosa app instead (which was $2) cheaper. He said no. I will remake this one for you. It's not spicy. I told him what if it's remade and I don't like it. I've never had this dish before and I know what samosas taste like. He said then pay for it. I told him why? It's the same thing as remaking the other one. But samosas are cheaper. He grabbed a menu to check and shook his head at me. By this time another customer came in and wanted to order. So I told him fine just remake it. I tried to have my daughter finish her food. After the other customer ordered we got to talking. The guy behind the counter interrupted, shook his head again, and said No. No. You said to go and now you are still here. I said excuse me?! Where's the owner? I've never been here before. As an employee it's part of your job to recommend dishes to new people. He said I am the owner. And that is not my job. You order it and eat it. If you want something else you pay. I had to remind him I'm the customer. I asked..Why are you acting like a jerk? He said..YOU. YOU ARE THE JERK. Wow!! By this time a woman came out of the kitchen. I asked her if he's really the owner. And does he speak like this to all people especially women. It didn't seem like she spoke English. By this time my poor kiddo finished her food. I packed everything and just left. I didn't wait for the remake. He was still calling me names as I was leaving. I told the other customer to make sure to do a negative review for this place. The worker said..yeah when you get a business I will find you and do a negative review also. So abuser and stalker! By the time I got to my car I was shaking (still hungry) and just upset that there are men that talk like to women. I had an amazing experience here. The food was unbelievably good, truly some of the best Indian food I've had anywhere around. Every dish was full of flavor, fresh, and clearly made with care. I was happy to see a new Indian place in my neighborhood so we stopped by for lunch. It's located next to Safeway off of Calvine, so the location is super convenient with plenty of parking spaces. The interior was nicely decorated, they have music, and a dessert display in the front. For a small location, they have plenty of seating spaces available since they also have some tables and chairs outside. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. The food, well that's the best part, it was on point. We ordered butter chicken and chicken tikka masala: the sauce was very creamy and balanced, and more importantly, delicious. We ordered some naan garlic bread and it was soft, well seasoned and paired well with the entrees. Finally, we got an order of samosas and the outside was crispy and the filling was soft and flavorful and add some of the sauce and chutney they give you and forget about it..
