Very unprofessional in terms of communication and booking. I had sent an initial inquiry about 2 months ago and heard nothing back. After emailing to check in I was informed the salon had changed ownership or something to that effect and I would have to re-send them my inquiry. I did this and the woman, Alexis, had me fill out a new brochure and I sent her screenshots of my previous request which showed what I wanted and the date I would need work done. Again, I don't hear back from anyone. After 4-5 days, I email asking for confirmation on booking and she tells me she's on vacation and will get back to me later. This morning she emails me to tell me my date is not available any longer. Thanks to you guys, I have wasted almost 2 months at this point trying to book with your salon when I could have been looking elsewhere. My wedding is in 3 months. I understand that in changes of ownership things can get lost in translation, but I would think you'd be more apologetic and willing to try and get clients scheduled after they were lost in the mix the first time around. Instead, I felt thrown to the way side and obviously like not much of a priority. Would not recommend. read more

I'm giving it a 2 for terrible customer service! Don't ever cancel the day before because they charge you half you visit cost. That's why they make you leave your credit card on file. When I told Teddi my card on file was closed and I have a new card, she tried to charge it. That was humiliating because I'm a good person. I had to call because I was recovering from Covid and food poisoning. She is well aware that I'm under treatment for Breast Cancer! That being said, she does a great job. I was super excited to use Bobby Pins and Blush for my daughters first hair cut. I had been to this location right after my daughter was born and they gave me an amazing haircut. Unfortunately due to personal and financial issues, I haven't been back since. I booked myself and my daughter an appointment weeks in advance and was hyping my daughter up since she was a little nervous. I received a confirmation of the appointment 16 days before the appointment, 3 days before the appointment and 1 day before the appointment. 5 hours before the appointment I get a message that the appointment is denied because they aren't taking new clients. That is completely reasonable, had it been denied up front. The reason I picked this location is because they had made me feel comfortable getting my hair cut which I rarely do. Super annoyed that I have to deal with a disappointed child and have to scramble to find a new location before school starts. read more

I booked Bobby Pins and Blush for my wedding day hair and makeup. Because of the craziness of COVID, our plans came together a little last minute and I didn't book these services until 2 months before the wedding. Regardless, the Bobby Pins and Blush team were able to provide me with exactly what I was looking for. I was able to set up a trial on a day that worked for me, and the trial was done at my stylist's personal home to help us both feel safe during the pandemic. Setting up the contract was relatively straight forward and everything was done online. Teddi was very clear every step of the way what the costs would be and when we needed to know the final line up of who was getting hair and makeup done so that no cancellation fees or charges would be incurred. Coming up closer to the wedding day, I was sent a clear schedule of who would be getting hair and makeup done when. This made planning so easy. Morgan, our stylist, was wonderful. She was so friendly, helped keep us from feeling stressed out, and listened to what styles everyone wanted. She was on time and kept us on schedule for the whole morning. Everyone was very happy with our hair and makeup - it felt so nice to be well cared for on this big day. Having Morgan come to our getting ready site at The Inn at the Old Silk Mill made everything so easy. You will pay a fair amount for their wedding package, but I 100% got what I paid for. Wonderful, convenient service and high quality hair and makeup. Pricing was make clear up front, and I never felt like charges were a surprise. I will definitely look into booking Bobby Pins and Blush again when we're hopefully able to have our full wedding reception next year! read more

Teddi is am amazing hair stylist and hair extensions expert. What I do not agree upon, is the cancellation policies she has established. It is only " black and white", there is nothing in between, lets say you get really sick or say you have to have surgery or you have to go to the ED because of an emergency, perhaps you have a car accident, someone in your family gets sick or God forbid they die. You will be charged for possibly the full visit or at least 50% regardless of the fact. It doesn't matter the reason. Its only " Black or White" and no grey. There is absolutely no empathy to others. It's all about the money. But, there is a chance she could cancel your appointment-last minute due to her schedule. You're then at her scheduling mercy and remember don't have any unforeseen emergencies or anything out of your control, because you will have to pay. If you're ok with that. Bobby Pins and Blush was mediocre at best. It's sad, because I was mostly happy with their services, but the overall experience was horrific and resulted in this being the only wedding vendor I used that I would not recommend. The customer service was terrible. First, I was sent a bill overcharging me. Then, when I asked to have it corrected, I didn't even receive a "sorry, our mistake" message- I was simply sent a new bill. Okay- except that contract was blank. It didn't have a date, a venue, a price- anything. When I stated that I would not sign a blank contract, I was told both the salon and owner's internet service was messed up, resulting in these issues- despite the fact that the salon and owner's house are in different counties (I grew up there). After that, I booked my trial. I knew what I wanted- I wear a lot of makeup daily. I informed my makeup artist that I was not afraid of makeup, to give full coverage, and that I liked warm tones like gold and champagne. She listened to exactly NONE of this and put cool, icy tones on me and told me she "couldn't put anymore makeup on" me when I told her the coverage was not enough. I use L'Oreal foundation daily and do a better job. To the owner's credit, when I called her a few days later and admitted that I was unhappy, she told me she figured as much from overhearing us and was happy to set me up with another artist. Please keep in mind that I took a day off of work and paid around $75 for this garbage makeup trial. With the new makeup artist I was given, I was happy. However, even after scheduling an at-home appointment with her 3 weeks ahead of the trial, (which I still paid for, at a reduced rate), I was forced to track down the owner 48 hours out to ask if they were still coming. I had checked my emails and had received no confirmation and since this was a house call, I needed to know what was going on. After she informed me my makeup artist was indeed still coming, I told the owner that her clients may appreciate some sort of confirmation when they book. It was then that I received a snarky response of "I'll keep that in mind" and then received the confirmation email I should have initially received when I booked the appointment weeks before. The owner does a good job at hair. Her attitude and customer service are awful. On my wedding day, she came and tried to control the conversation between my bridal party and myself. She even said at one point "yeah I hope you're happy because I'm sure I'll hear about it if you aren't". The services were a 3.5-4/5 but the customer service was awful. Wow! I had to call two days in advance to cancel an appointment due to sickness and also to reschedule due to an unexpected work schedule change. The online system will not allow me to reschedule. Though I clearly called and left a message when my stylist was out well over 48 business hours in advance. I was contemplating going elsewhere because it's a hassle to schedule with them all of the covid paperwork and going through the online system and they are a bit snarky, but I need my color done for an event and didn't want to search for someone new at the moment. Therefore, I decided to call to reschedule & they wanted $115 for a missed appointment, but require you sign paperwork if your sick stating you would not come in. So, it seems odd. I am glad the stylist sent me a rather snarky text stating we are not a good fit, as I read the owner Teddy's response to a bride on Yelp. Holy smokes! These ladies need a bit of charm schooling. Rude. Disrespectful and overpriced! However, I will say if you can put up with the snarky mean girl nonsense, KC does good color. But, I prefer to do business with respectful people. read more

The atmosphere was nice and fancy. The workers were friendly. I was impressed with the warm towel they wrap around your neck and the cool compress on your eyes. However, the end result was crap. If you have course, thick or curly hair- do not come here. It took almost 90 minutes just to blow out my hair and I left with my ends looking stiff. When asked about running a flat iron over it to take some of the frizzies, they quoted me at $25 extra. WHAT?! $75 for a blow-out & flat iron. No thanks. Will not be going back. When she struck out on her own I could have easily chosen another stylist at the salon she had been working at, but I kindly followed her to support her new venture. So imagine my surprise when about two years (and many salon services) later I was notified that Bobby Pins & Blush would no longer be providing styling services to individuals but would be focusing on weddings and special occasions only. First of all, I want to say that I rarely post negative reviews unless I feel it is necessary for the public to truly understand this business, and this is one. Bobby Pins & Blush won me over for the wedding booking with their website and "how awesome" they looked, but please please don't let that fool you, at all. They are opposite of "awesome". They will try to maximum their costs in every possible way. My mother wanted a trial of blow out, and the actual blow out cost is $35 on-location so instead of honoring the "best price" which makes more sense, they choose the "trial price" which is $75, which usually means wedding updo, etc, and they only say they follow the "contract, black/white" kind of thing instead of ACTUALLY TRYING TO WORK WITH US by giving us the best deal (which ALL of my vendors do, and it is simply being the best humans possible). Their artists and hairstylists are actually sweet but the management seems to let money come before the idea of working with their customers. As for the cancelation, please be careful because they charged us a cancelation of a minimum 50% for something that they "said" we verbally agreed to (mother's hair and make up) especially after when we told them we did NOT like how they did mother's. It was not even in the writing (on the contract) on what my mother would be committed to (which service), but somehow they turned it against us (and trust me their favorite word is "contract" but ironically this one wasn't even on the contract or writing). Yes, the communication was a bit diffuclt between us due to hearing loss, but we all were educated enough to follow the conversation. To be clear, we NEVER asked for any discounts. They only made sure we got the most expensive deal. In the entire wedding planning and working with everyone, this is far the worst vendor we have worked with (and probably in my entire life). I spent few nights of crying and with no sleep with their tone, attitude, and towards the idea of "working with customers". At last, we decided to cancel everything, pay everything (total of $790 being spent on them for nothing) including $250 remaining "50% fees". We could have kept them but the attitude and tone towards us were horrible and we knew things would be not the same with them on the actual wedding day. Their motto is like money over happiness, and that is not the way I live, or want on my wedding day. We found an alternative make up artist and hair stylist that were COMPLETE opposite of them. I paid for a bridal hair and makeup trial at Bobby pins and blush. With KC. I was extremely disappointed with the services. She asked me what looks i was going for. I showed her a picture of the hair i was shooting for as well as the makeup. All was done very haphazardly. The hair was not even remotely close to what i was going for. She did not seem the slightest bit interested in any of it which is probably why. My makeup was atrocious. The eye makeup was not anything at all like what i wanted. She didn't use any of the colors i was told her i wanted. It was shabby too. My eye liner was uneven. She didn't use hardly any concealer and i have hereditary dark circles under my eyes that require it. My foundation was disgusting. She said her airbrush machine broke which is why is was very splotchy. However, if the machine broke then she should have gone back over the botched makeup with sponges or brushes and manually applied the makeup. She did no such thing. The overall job was absent of any professionalism. She provided a very shabby lazy service and then had the audacity to continue to charge me for it. I had to go straight home and fix everything so i could go to dinner with my fiancee. I was quite frankly appalled by the entire experience. I had never had my hair and makeup done and was so looking forward to it. Just to have to go home and re do it because it looked like crap. I was shocked because there are so many good reviews and nice photos. Clearly not done by this particular chick. Regardless I would not recommend this place to anyone. I believe one of the owners/managers was there working on someone else, because she said all emails go to her. I actually haven't even had the pleasure of utilizing this salon in order to rate their stylists fairly because I couldn't get past the terrible customer service and false advertisement. I called a week ago to make an appointment for a cut/color. I was told by the receptionist that they did not have a stylist available and that they were in the process of hiring more. I left the receptionist with my name and phone number. A week later I noticed that BP&B posted on Instagram that they hired a new stylist, yet I wasn't given the courtesy of a phone call. I made it known on Instagram that I was not happy with this lack of customer service. I was told by the owner that they attempted to call me but my voice mail was not set up. However, my phone has voice mail capabilities and is completely functional. The receptionist took down the wrong phone number. The owner stated that my comments were rude and obnoxious. Give me a break. Own your mistakes and make it right. My second issue with this place is that I've called twice to make an appointment for a facial and lash lift/tint. I figured making an appointment would be the best way as opposed to testing out the "Fri-Sat 10 am-7pm Walk-Ins Welcome" advertisement. I was wrong. I was told by the receptionist that they only have one spa room and one person who does facials. So why advertise "Walk-Ins Welcome"??? Clearly they can't handle appointments. They're completely booked for the next two weeks. So explain to me how they accommodate a customer walk-in? False. Advertisement. I will recommend GoGo Gorgeous Makeup artists in Fredericksburg to anyone who wants to look fabulous for any occasion. BP&B needs to get their act together if they plan on surviving. read more

I don't even leave reviews but this one is worth my time. I hope no bride ever chooses this company for their special day because there is nothing special about their services. First of all, their contract is a mess but you better read it carefully because they will use it against you however they have to. I scheduled hair and makeup for myself but not my bridesmaids due to the cost. I signed a contract for ONLY myself, then followed up with Teddi that I was probably going to need hair only for my bridesmaids. She had me send her their names - completely fine as she needed to add them to a contract. I was expecting her to send over a contract with the additions...she did not. I never signed anything with my bridesmaids names on it. I ended up looking around in the mean time and found another salon to do their hair. I emailed Teddi to notify her that I was going with another salon to save my bridesmaids some money. She then tells me she had added them to the contract and that I would have to pay a $50 cancellation fee PER bridesmaid. I never saw a contract with their names added, yes she was very responsive when telling me she would be charging me a cancellation fee. I told her I was not willing to do that. Thankfully my coordinator handled the rest and the entire contract was cancelled. She charged me $341 to cancel my own service even after I paid the $150 nonrefundable booking fee AND for my trial which was over $200. I have been charged a fortune for NOTHING (except my trial which I completely agree with paying for because the artist took the time to do it and used her own supplies). I don't even care about the money at this point, I just want to give my business to/pay a salon with better customer service. I feel like I got completely ripped off. I was especially impressed with the artist that did my treatments. She took her time and did a beautiful job and I left feeling pretty and new. I will be back again and again. I am a former employee here, and I warn anyone who plans on working here to think twice. This has been by far the worst place I have ever worked. 10+ employees can back me up with this post too. It's truly unbelievable how many talented girls went through so much trouble with his business. She promises a lot but fails to deliver. Be prepared to give a lot of your time and not properly get paid for it- that's if you get paid at all. Employees deal with a lot of bounced checks. Myself and other employees have gone weeks without being paid. After leaving, I waited over a month to get my final check. She informed me she sent it through the mail, after I asked her not to, and I went weeks without seeing any sign of it. It wasn't until after I threatend to take legal action when it "magically" appeared in the mail box post marked the day before. She even openly admitted to another previous employee that she lied to buy herself time. This job requires unpaid mandatory meetings, a "service fee" taking out of each services earned commission, and promised payed for education that rarely ever happens. If you ask questions about pay or about the job in general, you will get a smart response back and be talked down to. Myself and all of her previous employees left due to the poor treatment. She tends to hire younger staff and takes advantage of them. Over all, it is not a good place to work. Save yourself the headache and on this one. Very poor customer service. Never on time, they are always running late. Also, the late policy is never mentioned until you are "late". Eyelash extensions do not last more than a week, when supposed to last over 2 weeks. Also, I over heard Teddi (the owner) say to another employee that you do not need a license to do eyelash extensions. That is completely FALSE, you absolutely need an license. They also use cheap products that can cause reactions to skin. Another lie is that they will refund the $25 dollars if notified 48 hours before, I cancelled 72 hours before and they refused to refund my money. I would definitely not recommend this place. I don't recommend BobbyPins & Blush. I spent months researching and visiting salons looking for a technician I could trust to do my microblading. I ended up at BP&B after the owner (Teddi) convinced me that she was experienced, trained, and licensed in microblading. The initial fee (approx $400) includes a touch up approximately six weeks after the initial procedure. A week after the initial microblading, it was clear that the application was choppy and patchy; I could not wait for the touch up apt. I don't recommend BobbyPins & Blush. Six weeks came and went, and then three apts resulting in calls from the receptionist canceling the apts because the owner (Teddi) either went home sick or had something else come come up. And every single cancelation was within an hour of the apt. I don't recommend BobbyPins & Blush. Microblading results in scabbing on/in your eyebrows, so I had to plan each apt around life events accordingly; meetings at work, outings, social events. These last minute cancellations were a huge inconvenience. When I received the fourth cancelation call I asked to talk to the owner (Teddi). The receptions said they had scheduled their new microblade technition to do my touch up, and she had left for vacation. So I asked the owner why she couldn't do my touch up, since she did the original procedure? Well apparently, the owner (Teddi) can't do touch ups, because she is, and never has been licensed on microblading. And she denied ever doing my eyebrows. I met this women, I had several discussions prior to her microblading my eyebrows, and I spent three hours talking to her while she was doing the procedures; we talked about our pets, her business...and now she was telling me there was no way she could have done my procedure, she's still in a training for her license, and only performs the procedure at no charge on volunteers. I don't recommend BobbyPins & Blush. Long story short, I made a fifth apt with the licensed technician and when she arrived, I asked to see (and she provided) her license first thing. Needless to say, the owner was not at the establishment when I returned for my touch up. The licensed technician ended up re-doing both eyebrows, the initial job had faded significantly, and was nowhere near the quality applied by the licensed microblader. I don't recommend BobbyPins & Blush. So, if you are looking for a trusted salon employed and managed by certified and licensed individuals you can trust your events, your hair, your skin, face and schedule with, I don't recommend BobbyPins & Blush. However, if you are looking for a really good, licensed technician skilled in the art of microblading, call ask to talk to Nano Sinad, find out where works outside of BP&B, and go there. I used Bobby Pins and Blush for my wedding and absoultely loved their work. Everyone's hair and make-up was beautiful and we all recieved so many compliments. I highly recommend the air-brush makeup, it lasts all day and feels so light. However beautiful, if you are a bride who is looking for the whole "giggle with my girls and have fun getting ready" experience, this may not be the place for you. I highly recommend having Bobby Pins and Blush come to your location or if you are getting married at the Inn at the Old Silk Mill, to have your hair and make-up done in the parlor. The BP&B technicians share their shop with a masseuse which means if there is a massage in progress, you must be quiet. We were shushed numerous times and my crowd isn't rambunctious or loud by any means. My mom was very upset which made me upset and it ended up making my wedding prep uncomfortable and kind of depressing. I can't go back and change it but I definitely don't want this happening to any other bride - it should have been a fun and exciting experience and I can never get that back. BP&B has a "30 day lock" policy. This means if you booked reservations for 5 people, you are on the hook for the 5 service reservations no matter what. Normally, I would be on the side of the shop for a policy like this, especially for a small business. I found out 25 days out from my wedding that my Nana had lung cancer and couldn't travel for my wedding. I emailed the shop to let them know my Nana had severe health issues and could no longer attend my wedding which would mean she would no longer need her hair done. Well, because we were within the 30 day window, I was still on the hook. It just put a bitter taste in my mouth and I was already upset about the news. I bought a Groupon and it states 60 min. massage of my choice...well, it wasn't my choice. I was told what I would get. I walked in and stood for almost 5 minutes before I was acknowledged, only after I asked for assistance. The receptionist was blah and handed me a clipboard with questions. The so called "esthician" took me to the room which was almost unpleasant. It was very bright, cold, and the bed linen was possibly not cleaned, full of lint. After receiving instructions to undress, the "facial" started. She wore gloves and was not personable, professional, or prepared. The first two towels were cold and the "essential" oil was unscented or the gloves she wore absorbed the scent. The products were not explained, there was a 10 second "analysis" done on my skin, she did not touch my nose at all, and rubbed and rubbed my cheeks til they felt raw. The exfoliating rub stayed in the gloves, even after wiping my face with a towel. My neck became stiff with the rolled towel she stuffed underneath it. After a 5 day cruise this summer , 2 people aboard our cruise line took pictures and video of the style and cut Teddi had done for me to show their stylists back home " this is what I want " . We hired Bobby Pins & Blush, LCC to do hair and make up on site for my daughter-in-law's wedding on May 6, 2017 for the bride, all bridesmaids, and both mothers. The staff sent, Kris for makeup and Morgan for hair, was amazing and everyone was beautiful. I would recommend either or both artists for your wedding. However, the studio manager Brandi and the owner Teddi can give you different and contradictory information and when asked to clarify both can become defensive and off-putting. We did two make up trials and apparently there is no plan for appointments that are cancelled by the studio in less than one hour before appointments due to staff absences (even if you tell them that you have coordinated your appointment with other vendors). I feel the price was comparable to other studios in the area; however, it is clear that the studio is not managed well, the owner does not take accountability for studio miscommunication, and is not accommodating to the needs of the customer when artists are out, the appointment is just cancelled whether you took off work or coordinated with other vendor's for the day. When asked about Event call outs the answer was vague and unacceptable...they do no have a plan in place. read more

On January 16th The owner of BobbyPins and Blush contacted me through google messenger on Facebook to create 6 custom aromatherapy neck wraps and eye packs with removable covers to use for her Bubble Bar. On the 17th we agreed to a price of $15 each and she stated at that time she would process a check for $90 through her bill pay account online. On January 26th she picked up her order and stated that the check was processing and if I did not have the check by Friday (January 29th) to let her know and we will make other arrangements. I have two witnesses to this statement. According to our conversation through messenger she was processing the payment on January 17th at 6:21 pm. I sent her two messages through messenger to let her know I had not received payment. The first was on Saturday, January 30th at 7:15 am and the second was on February 1st at 2:23 pm. I received no response to either. When I contacted her on Tuesday, February 2nd she was short with me and stated the check was processing. I told her at that time I would call her on Friday (February 5th) if I had not received the check. When I called on Friday she was not available so I left a message. She promptly called me back and again her tone was short and angry. She stated that it wasn't her fault if the post office could not deliver my mail and proceeded to tell me that it was inappropriate to leave a message at the shop with one of her employees. Because of her lack of response to messenger earlier in the week and because I told her I would call her back I had no other choice but to contact the shop. She hung the phone up on me and deleted me as a friend on Facebook neither erase the fact that she still owes me money. I sent her an email on February 12th and a certified letter asking that this issue be resolved and have received no response. read more
