OMG, these knives are SHARP! As in, scary sharp. My husband normally sharpens our knives with a special tool he bought, but Bobby's blades put hubby's efforts to shame. I left a message on Bobby's voicemail this morning, Bobby got back to me about a half-hour later, came right by and picked up 10 knives, and returned the sharpened knives to me about two hours later. All done before lunch! Very nice person and professional too. I found out that Bobby also does handyman work (under Husband Handyman for Hire - on yelp), and I would not hesitate to use his handyman services if I need to in the future. I found Bobby by accident, but it was a good accident. We usually take our knives to. this. other. place, but when I arrived at that usual knife sharpening business, it was completely desolate. (D@mn pandemic!) So, I yelped for a sharpening service and "accidentally" found Bobby. I was a bit skeptic due to the few ratings he had, but...** I put off getting my knives sharpened, so I gave the number a call. Bobby answered and was ready to pick the knives up from my residence. What?? Seriously? Pickup and delivery service?? I was way impressed; however, since I was already in the area I saved him time and dropped the knives off my self. He offered to drop them off, but again, I was in the area. He showed me my knives and told. me. how he tests the sharpness. And he cleaned them, which is not necessary, but a kind courtesy. PROS: - neat, organized work place in his garage, which is keeps his business sustainable - timely! He had my 6 knives sharpened and ready in a half hour - available option for pickup/delivery - professional and experienced CONS: - (I can't think of any at the moment.) Finding Bobby's sharpening service was a fortunate "accident" that I highly recommend. Professional knife sharpening is not as easy as it sounds. You got to be careful not to burn the blade, at the same time use the proper angle to end up with a perfectly sharpened tool. Bobby has done a great job working on 2 of my sets, giving a second life to my beloved kitchen knives. Definitely recommended. read more

Had several Miyabi Japanese knives sharpened and waited for a week to write this review. Sliced a bunch this week and here's what is impressive. Sliced sashimi in perfect form, Japanese Tamagoyaki (omelette) without moving any parts of the egg, lemons without juice running. All the basics of cutting vegetables and meat were a hit! Bobby provides pick up and drop off which was super convenient. And, one of the knives he recommended didn't need sharpening! I'm very happy with his service and will be coming back again! read more
