Years ago, I came to this place for help as I had at least 5 dull kitchen knives. Serg helped me and was able to sharpen them right away while I waited outside in my car. Today, I went to Serg again. Walked in about an hour before closing on a weekend and was attended to immediately. I brought in my 25 year old Wüsthof Culinar kitchen knife which was badly in need of sharpening. I had been using ceramic and steel rods at home for maintenance, but it was so far gone that I just couldn't get an edge on it any more. Within a few minutes, the gentleman behind the counter had taken it in the back and sharpened it to better than new condition. love this place..when I walked in I saw a bunch of WWll knives... the lighting inside is dim and the place feels kind of shady like you have to know the secret password to enter. in reality the owner is a very nice person and did a fantastic job on our knives! I gotta say I love old, Shady, ghetto fabulous places..... Old school rocks!!! let me tell you this guy is old School!!! they also repair lawn mowers and all kinds of different equipment if you need something repaired.... I have bought a very expensive Kyocera knife which after some use dulled so I bought a proprietary Kyocera sharpening tool (not cheap) but it made the knife even worse then before. I yelped for a ceramic knife sharpener and this place popped up. I have to tell you he sharpened the knife to a condition that was better than the original brand new. I have been his customer since. I thought this place might be capable of unbending my cooking baskets, so I sent my worker here to ask. They accepted the work without giving an estimated price quote. After a while, they said the work is done, and it turned out that they unbent my cookware without covering a soft sheet! Completely ruined the stainless steel! I'm not even sure it's still food safe. Also, the overcharge is unbelievable, they were trying to charge my employee 85 dollars for 10 minutes of unprofessional work, and without providing a proper receipt. I ended up paying 60 dollars cash, what a ripped off! I could've fixed it better with a hammer and a towel. STAY AWAY If you have a nice knife and want to KEEP IT THAT WAY!!! I brought in my favorite discontinued Benchmade and asked about their sharpening services. I had some specific questions about maintaining the specific factory bevel angle and how fine/polished is the finish. I show him the knife and he says, "Let me ask someone else". He goes to another guy in the back and he comes out with my blade with the primary bevel finish all buffed out and the secondary bevel all rounded off! He apologizes and said that he wasn't wearing the right glasses and offered a free sharpening. Needless to say, I walked out and won't be doing business there. Now I get it, knives are just tools but who starts grinding on a blade all careless like that? Bring your work knives here but send your favorites to a pro. read more

I came in here yesterday to get a car key from the 70's cut. They're only one of the few places I have been able to find that have an older machine that can do the longer, one sided cut. I came in around 4PM with my own blank key and was out in 5 mins. Ironically, they aren't able to do the newer keys with the grooves on both sides that are in most modern cars nowadays. But those are easier to find elsewhere anyways. read more

Right before Thanksgiving 2016, I dropped off about a dozen knives to them. These knives are mostly of cheap or poor quality--yep I'm guilty of buying crummy knives! Remarkably upon pickup these knives were sharper than they have ever been! And they have stayed that way over the past few months too. I had no idea that tomatoes could be cut with such ease--love it! And my steak knives are simply a delight to dine with now. Highly recommend these folks! read more

They did a great job sharpening my chainsaw. The saw was ready just when they said it would be with a one day turn around.

I asked them to replace my knives. They replied in writing that they would give me an answer in two weeks. Why an answer would require two weeks seemed crazy to me. Two weeks later - no answer. Then a email response saying that they had mailed me an answer. Then an email saying that there had been a death in the family and they would be responding soon. Next I got a letter from a lawyer with a printout of a website (not Global Knives) claiming that Global's knives were double-beveled. I'm steering clear of these folks. And that would be my advice to anyone else. read more

I give them one star for customer service, and another for getting the job done. That's the best I can do for them. This place was rated well by others, so I thought it might be a good choice, plus the name was clever. This was not necessarily the best reason for giving them my business. Dropped off a old pair of hedge clippers for sharpening on Monday. I was told it would be ready on Thursday, and the cost would be 10.00. Returned on Thursday. The work was not done. They forgot to do the work, and, one of the employees was out sick. Okay. Wouldn't the courteous thing be to call the customer and let them know the job was delayed? And, it's one pair of hedge clippers, not five or ten. I was told to return on Friday. My husband picked them up that day. Work quality: Looked good enough for my needs. They oiled the pair, too. So, they will do the work, if prompted twice. My time was wasted because the clippers were not ready on time. I used more gas making extra trips from Santa Clara to the location. Knifestalkers does not appear to care one way or another if they meet customer needs. My husband thought it was a great example of a Soviet business model. Count me in as someone who will not be a return customer. read more

I will NEVER be taking my grooming shears anywhere else as long as I can help it. The owner, whom I can not remember his name for the life of me, was kind and courteous when I approached his shop. He examined my shears, asked me when I needed them by, and we arranged for a pick up about 4 days later. When I picked up my brand new Monk shears, they felt brand new.. again. In fact, I think they may have been better than their factory quality. My Geib Gators, which had been previously sharpened by another guy in Sacramento were left in OUTSTANDING condition. They did not feel like the same shears, the Sac guy had done a number on them, but the Knife Stalker guy was able to repair the damage and restore them to better than factory. Ive been a pro groomer for about 6 years and this guy is the real deal. As far as his shop goes its a tornado, only he knows where everything is. But with quality craftsmanship like that I would take my scissors to him even if he lived under a bridge! read more

They did a great job on my full set of Henckels Professional knives including the serrated blade. I will be back in a few months when it's time to have them sharpened again! They earned 3 Stars right off for taking inspiration from the old Darren McGavin series as their namesake . I took in some garden shears and they came back good as new (better perhaps). They were returned to me nicely honed and de-gunkified. I do not have a lawn, hence no lawn mower, and so I can not attest to their expertise in that area.
