They were sharpened 4 years ago and i have one that's fairly sharp but lately I kept cutting myself so I decided to look for a convenient shop to get my knives in, but most of them required a longer wait. They will pick up from your front porch or wherever you want to leave them for pickup, the scissors or knives you want sharpened, and deliver them back you, sharpened to as good as new, generally within an hour or so, and at a sharpening price per item of scissors or knife that is truly reasonable especially when compared to some of the local hardware stores that require you to drop them off with them, and then wait three or four days to get them back to go back and pick them up, and generally charge more per item. As someone working in the restaurant industry , I am always in need of my knives sharpened every week. I've been on the market for a professional knife sharpener for awhile now and was lucky enough to stumble upon this local business that services around the Menlo Park area. Martin was very responsive and knowledgeable in his line of work and would trust him to handle my expensive knives. On top of rust, the service was also very affordable as well as convenient. I am located down San Jose and they sent someone down to pick up my knives for it to be transferred up to their facility up in Menlo Park which took a lot of my workload off. My knives were sharpened on a whetstone and finished on leather and alumina polishing compound which is a 8000 paste, leaving the edges nicely polished and sharp as razor blades. My knives were also hand-delivered by Martin himself-- my man busted a mission down to San Jose during peak traffic hours to present to me and to his other clients the finished work which portrays reliability in his work ethic and care for his clients. It was really a great experience doing business with him! If you're in tight of time and in need of restoring your dull knives, I highly recommend giving this small business a shot. I've been looking to sharpen my knives for years. It's been on my to do list to take them to a sharpening service, and I even bought some whetstones lying around at home. I previously left a 5 star review but I'm changing it and I'll tell you why. My experience with this service was great at first. Quick, responsive and made me feel taken care of. Secondly, I have years of cooking and prepping experience and a small catering business. So I think I know when my tools are sharp. The 1st time I used this service my knife went dull after cutting 2 onions, yes 2 onions. So I reached back out and said mentioned it and so he agreed to "sharpen them again". 2nd time was slightly better but the blade didn't hold. Then the nice gentleman took it upon himself to tell me I needed a honing steel to maintain it. (Again I own one and have experience in kitchens) the knives all lost their edges within the first uses after getting sharpened. I tried to be understanding and go back a 3rd time out of necessity for a catering event but this time he just didn't answer! Yikes! I'm leaving up both reviews for transparency. I was very impressed with Rejuvenated Knives! I asked them to sharpen my cheap set of 12 kitchen knives that I use every day. The knives were as sharp as my expensive Wusthof chef knife once they were done. Now, my steak knives can cut through steak in one pass instead of 2-3 passes like they were before sharpening.
