Phil was wonderful in sharpening my wife's German hair cutting scissors. He was able to not only identify how it was sharpened before but correct it. It's extremely sharp now. For the hair cutting scissors it cost $32. It was well worth the money to be able to preserve this really nice set and not get some cheap garbage replacement at the store. Been wanting to get my knives sharpened and found Well Sharpened on yelp. Phil got back to my email quickly on pricing and protocols. Switched over to text and also really responsive that way as well. I scheduled a time to drop off my 4 kitchen knives. I dropped them off in the morning and they were done the same day. Since scheduling didn't work out, I picked them up the next morning. He laid out all the knives on cardboard and tied up with twist ties to keep everything in place. He also has a sense of humor by giving you a band-aid just to remind you how sharp the knives are. He sanitizes everything before giving it back to you. I gave em a quick wash and tested out my chef's knife with a tomato. I was able to cut a thin slice without holding into the tomato. Super sharp and very pleased with the work. read more

Phil was amazing to work with. He was responsive, professional, and quick. I found him through Yelp. He responded promptly with pricing and we scheduled a time for me to drop off the knives. He mentioned turn around was anywhere from 24-48 hours. He took every precaution necessary when I dropped off my knives. When I retrieved my knives there was a note saying he had sterilized them with Isopropyl alcohol. There were instructions on how to care for and protect the longevity of your knives. There was also a bandaid, which made me chuckle, as I am sure I will be needing it know that they are freshly sharpened. Memorial Day 2021....I am going through my kitchen organizing and editing, what needs to stay and what can be stored or given away. I realize that my knives have been neglected for a couple of years and have lost their edge. I resort to Google and Yelp and find Phil at Well Sharpened to finely hone their cutting edges back to the samurai blades they once were. Customer service was amazing, able to drop them off on Memorial Day and pick them up later that afternoon. I thought about going to Nob Hill market, but in the end, that wouldn't have been the best decision bkz I understand that they may grind away more than is necessary to resuscitate a blade. My newly sharpened khives can slice through a softened tomato with ease. All were returned to me wire tired to a piece of cardboard with instructions how to care for them in the future to preserve their edge. Phil is a really nice guy. At this time, he doesn't sharpen ceramic blades, bkz it requires a diamond blade, but he does all kinds of other specialty blades including haircutting sheers, scissors, etc. Glad I found him and will be sure to recommend him to friends and colleagues. read more
