Prime rib sliced thin with knife sharpened by Dave.

Dave sharpened and cleaned carving knives to ready for my Christmas dinner. The price was right and the wait was short. Thanks Dave, the knives did well!

Sharpen While You Shop (SWYS) is a one-man knife sharpening operation that's a little slice of genius. Owner-operator Jeff White sets up a tiny canopy outside of various Grocery Stores and Farmers Markets so you can drop off your knives before shopping, and when you return they'll be sharpened and ready for you to pick up. I've been in dire need of getting my knives sharpened, as my whole knife set hasn't been professionally sharpened since I got them as wedding gifts―over 12 years ago! This was the nearest SWYS location to my house and I brought over my two 8" Chef's Knives for a much needed shave. Location: SWYS has various set stops and locations throughout the South Bay and Peninsula. This one just happened to be in front of the Lunardi's on Branham and Meridian every Sat from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Check out this website to find the location closest to you: http://sharpenwhileyoushop.com/cities Prices: Cost varies depending on the knife size and type. He does all kinds of knives, shears, axes and even ceramic knives! The price is roughly $4-8 for most standard knives that most "normal" home chefs use. I'll post a pic of the price sheet to go along with my review. Also, Cash or Local Check ONLY! Service: Jeff was really super-friendly and one of the nicest guys I've dealt with in a while. He will definitely be seeing more of me as I slowly bring in the rest of my cutlery. End Result: Perfection! I came home and gave both my knives the old Tomato Test and they cut through it like buttah! SWS has an excellent FAQ/Blog (http://sharpenwhileyoushop.com/blog) on their website and is a highly recommended read before visiting them as it'll answer most questions you'll have. Meanwhile, SWYS is highly recommended for getting your beloved knife set back into fighting shape. After all, what's a cook without a good knife?

Great, quick, and affordable service. I drove up to the Lunardi's Bascom location from Morgan Hill and was very pleased with their service. I had three knives sharpened for a total of $24 (large meat cleaver and my Wusthof chef & santoku knives) and they feel brand new again! Took about 20 mins total. I'll definitely come back! Cash only.

Who can complain about a knife sharpener who comes to your grocery store every week and charges rock bottom prices for his work. I regularly take my dull knives to Jeff and he does a very nice job of sharpening them. He also is working on my Bonsai tools, which are very difficult to sharpen because of their concave angles. He has repaired one trunk cutter that no one else has done satisfactorily. I usually drop them off before I go shopping at Lunardi's off of Bascom Ave.

I had a specialty vegetable cleaver that I needed repaired and sharpened. It had been used by someone to cut something they shouldn't have and there was a nice chunk missing. I brought it into the store and dropped it off. It was ready in a matter of days and the price was more than reasonable, despite them having to do some extra work to get rid of the chip. What j I appreciate it is that they did the repair in a manner that maintained the integrity of the Knife when they could've just had their way with it. I wouldn't have known the difference. They also have a nice variety of kitchen accessories and I was able to pick up a knife sheath to protect everyone from the now razor Sharp clever. It's nice having a local business that does quality work and took the time to explain my options and what was done. They deserve 6 out on f 5 stars!

It was so special to me and my wife, as it brought back many memories of years gone by when we lived in the Santa Clara area. The current owner was so very nice and gave us a good price. He also has a bunch of other services like rounding the spine, too, which is a nice little improvement if you pinch-grip. William's mother greeted me, took my knives, and reminded me of the price range per knife. On Friday morning, I got a text that my knives were ready and confirming the final price. Pick up was quick and easy, and the knives are well sharpened. Two of my knives are polished to a shiny finish, and William was able to maintain that shine. The knives cut so much better now, and I'm sure I'll be back in the future. A few notes - the gate to the backyard is in the cul de sac (not the main street that the front door is on), so when you send the text letting them know that you've arrived, they'll meet you at that side gate. They only accept cash or Venmo. They don't give you the final price or pickup time until the work is done, I think because William needs to assess the knives. The price felt fair to me given the quality of work, just something to be aware of!
