I live right near this club I am gay I tried to go here once last night i will never go back,see I have a little bit of autism high on the spectrum and I start going out to meet men, I try to go to a gay club me and my friend decide that we will go to bobbys cus it was highly recommended, after what happened last night I will never be going back, we went my friend didnt have his Id so the bouncer sent us all the way we walk back to the house and all the way back, then all of a sudden he says its 5 dollars to get in and I am like you are a son of a we walked all the way back to the house you jerk to get our ID then walk all the way back and this is the only club I hace ever been to where you have to pay to get in, I wont go back, I am gay I would rather sit at a sports bar and have fun with straight guys drinking and watching sports all day than have to pay 5 dollars and not enjoy myself I hate that place. read more

This place has gone downhill over the years and it's actually kind of sad. It smells bad in here. Terrible service and their drinks are terrible. Also, they don't know what they are doing anymore. This is the type of place that your drink will easily get spiked. Stay away. read more

Absolutely love this place. The vibe is amazing. The Halloween decorations were incredibly cool and overall everyone was great. The owner who I spoke to was an upright gentleman. Very respectful. Open to ideas and suggestions! Will definitely be coming back!!! read more

Bobby is a total moron, rude, disrespectful, dishonest, a total jerk. His place is not bad, but Bobby is an idiot personified. Do not trust his schedule as he switches his shows on a whim and is too lazy to go on the internet and clarify the schedule. Urghhh His "wise guy" routine is bogus. Okay, here's the deal. I rated this 3 stars. Don't get me wrong, I'm absolutely fond of this place. Tons of memories with friends It's a good place, in a sense. However, I have some major gripes with this business that have been bothering me for ages now. It never used to be a concern maybe 5 years ago, but now it's just annoying. They don't take credit cards. The bar is cash only. You can NOT start a tab. It doesn't matter if you're a long time regular or just stepped through the door. The policy is cash only, no tabs. This is a great rule after a certain time, but in the middle of the day or when it's slow? It's annoying. You also find out how fast your money goes when you pay for drinks as you go, as the place can be rather pricey. They recently remodeled the place, after someone attempted to start fire to it, so they shut down for awhile and used the opportunity to upgrade. i have mixed feelings about this as well. While it's pretty much the same format... I honestly don't like the new bar area. It's a really terrible spot for it. I preferred the old wooden bar that circled around the area. It was perfect for being social and being able to look around the area. Now if you want to sit at the bar... you'll be staring at an awkwardly positioned wall. There are also less seats at the bar now. The upside to this is that they've provided more "lounge" and comfortable seating arrangements in the middle of the floor. They used to have these (where the current bar is) as well as a few couches you could sit on. However, they weren't as extensive and classy before. More like a cozy, shady spot. The chairs with the tables are fun to sit in, but you feel really awkward and lonely if you attempt to go to this place by yourself. I'm not fond of the new bartenders at the moment. Maybe it's because I just hate the location of the new bar, period. Or perhaps it's because they just seem so disgruntled. One of the old bartenders is still working there, and it's nice to see him. The new girls that are there just look miserable. I'm not saying they're mean, they're not. It's just I don't get that "welcoming" feeling that I received from the older bartenders at the wooden bar. Again, maybe this is because the bar area just is so awkwardly positioned and weird now. Where the old bar used to be is a larger stage, for Karaoke or performances. In the back of the bar, there's the main dance floor... and it received a major upgrade. The DJ's now have a main booth in the center of the area. (Replacing the old half-a-car that used to be the DJ area, which was located in the corner.) There used to be pool tables in the back, and I do believe they're still there. There's an outside area for smoking, or just relaxing outside in the summer. They improved and moved the location of the outside bar area as well. (Which obviously isn't in use in the winter as far as I know.) The people who go here are usually nice. Everyone is usually extremely friendly. You'll at least have 1 or 2 people to talk to even if you don't know anyone. The main thing is... this place is listed as, and has always been known as a "Gay Bar" but these days, especially at nights, this seems to be an incorrect term to use in this day and age. You'll see folks from all walks of life here, but since the bar opens late you'll find that it's the "OH NO! WHERE DO WE GO TO GET BEER LATE AT NIGHT" bar. You'll then get people who are absolutely straight, with their girlfriends, or are college kids looking for that last drop of a drink before you go home. Some of them are absolutely disrespectful and threatening. Luckily, the owner, Bobby, is the coolest shit to ever walk the Earth. If you cause trouble and Bobby's on the case, he won't put up with any crap. You screw up just once, start any crap inside the business, or seem too drunk to function? You're outta there in no time. Sometimes you'll randomly see Bobby escorting random people out. At first you'll think, "What's wrong with that guy? What he'd do?" -- But if you know Bobby and his "I don't take any shit" policy, chances are that person did something to deserve being tossed out. I like the new place, it looks snazzy.. But my personal preference to the new bar are and staff are... meh. The ATM policy won't be changing anytime soon, but it still annoys me. One final thing I'd like to mention is that during late nights there's usually always an on duty police officer monitoring the area. It's a good thing too, as there are some drunks and douchebags who tend to want to start things once and awhile. Usually Bobby kicks them out before anything escalates, but it's nice to know an officer is there. I'd definitely say if you have the money on hand it's worth going to. ahhhh the beautiful gay men.... which i cant have! *pouts* Local dive bar, plenty of room. A bar, pool tables, couches and high tables, a dance floor and a DJ. The DJ booth is cool because the booth is the front of an old car and the dance floor is surrounded by mirrors. And yes, it's a gay bar but that does not stop anyone from going there. It's more of a fun bar. I love the drags that stay here after the shows... they dress so fabulously. One time she was wearing a HUGE awesome flowered headpiece. I could never pull something like that off.... Also, this is the only local place that's open until 2pm. So everyone usually leaves the other bars at 12:45pm and heads to Bobby's Place before they stop letting people in at 1pm. And usually Bobby is there so you can meet him as well and trust me, he doesn't deal with any shit. You cause trouble and you'll be escorted out. Usually a $5 Cover. read more

Bobby's is a great place. My wife and I were there last weekend and I must say, EVERYONE was welcomed by Bobby (yes, the owner). Great sound system, drinks, and staff. Bathrooms were clean (important to my wife). Dance floor in the back. Bobby's has an outside bar also in the back. All and all - we had a great time there and we will indeed be back to Bobby's! ame to Bobby's for karaoke tonight (jan 12th) and put 2 songs in at 11 pm and one got to sing after waiting an hr 1 song. listen to the same person sing 4 times before rotation. and heard 4 peoples waiting 2 hrs to sing then walked out . Bobby's lost business tonight my party of 8 peoples left because he was only letting his former co worker/wife sing and iv been consistently coming here for karaoke for 8 weeks in a row and this women has not been there . not fair for loyal customers. and he plays to many songs in between people singing too. sorry not a fun night out. wont be returning till new karaoke person or old one would be great. and losing the best bartender .#FindingSomePlaceNew read more

I've never been a huge fan of Bobby's, but it's the only place open late night when all the other bars are closed. My husband's friends like it here, so we go from time to time. There's always a cover at the door, which I think is ridiculous. Bobby's has changed the layout inside quite a bit since the first time I went years ago. The joint's way better than it used to be, but still, you feel like you're in a basement with the low ceilings & darkness, and the further back you go, the hotter and sweatier it is, mostly due to the dj/raging dance floor. The clientele is a whole other story...you may have been told Bobby's is a gay bar, but honestly, I've seen everything but. Like I said, it's the only place in Taunton that'll feed you beers after 1am and all types of characters are attracted to that. read more

This place is trash. The drinks and prices were fine... It is advertised to gay people but It is under no circumstances a safe space for queer or trans people. I patronized this place on vacation with 3 women. I was reprimanded no less than 4 times in 3 hours. I got in trouble for sitting in the "VIP" area when there were a bunch of straight people sitting there who did not get kicked out who, in shock, let me know that they did not pay any money to be in the "VIP" area. They also threatened to kick me out when I "climbed" on the cage. I did not climb on the cage. My friends were dancing like cute maniacs and were not spoken to at all. My friend's butt was slapped by a man. This is an undercover gay bar for straight to find women. Upon leaving we were harassed by the "house cop"... they have a police officer in house who mans the door after a certain hour. I gave this place 2 stars so people would take this review seriously, but this place is truly disgusting. DON'T GO HERE IF YOU'RE QUEER. It's not safe. read more
