The individuals in the store are nice enough, but my shoes were not ready when they said they'd be and when I went to pick them up I was horrified. I walked out of the store in shock that my $400 shoes were ruined. The pictures speak for themselves. These shoes were virtually brand new when one of the soles came off after very little wear. After arguing with Kate Spade, I just decided to have them repaired locally. Stupid decision on my part! I had heard good things about Bobby's, but now feel it a public service to let people know not to go their with their high end shoes! I tried taking a backpack to Jackie's right next door to shoe repair to fix replace a zipper slide (the rest of the zipper was in great condition) and they wouldn't take it but referred me to Bobby's. Brought the backpack in on a Tuesday, paid $14, and they told me the backpack would be ready the following Tuesday. I came back on Wednesday and it wasn't ready. They told me to come back the following Tuesday.... two weeks to fix a zipper. I thought about just taking it and doing it myself but I didn't want to go through the hassle of getting my money back because they have such an old system and I paid with a card. At the time I was in the store, they had lost a woman's shoes (she said it was her 4th time in the store and her shoes were supposed to be ready Monday..) and by the time I left, they still hadn't found them. I'm giving a 2 star because the young man who helped me was polite but that seems like it's the only thing going for them in my situation (I don't doubt that people have had great experiences here and have gotten their shoes on time). Also, I do believe they are just swamped in work and don't have enough people repairing shoes. I also think the place is unorganized because of the same reason of them being understaffed (there are shoes everywhere). I actually semi-like that about the place. It definitely feels local which I appreciate. But if places like this want to stay open, they are going to need to get it together. Update: came back the following Wednesday (instead of Tuesday, giving an extra day..) And they asked me to give them 30 minutes for them to fix it. Because it still wasn't done. Came back an hour later, wasn't finished (yeah, I'm not kidding). I asked for my backpack and a refund and after the boy went back to talk to them, they said it would be done in a few minutes if I would wait. I would think twice before getting your shoes repaired here. I took a brand new pair of shoes here, per a recommendation to get vibram put on the bottoms. When I went to pick up my shoes, the quality of the work was less than acceptable. When I asked them to fix the shoes, they made me feel like I was being unreasonable and I was putting them out. Since my friend recommended the place, I had already seen a quality job from them as well as other pictures from the internet at what a vibram sole should look like. Needless to say the job wasn't done right. They said they could fix them finally after much back and forth with the person helping me. She told me they would be ready before they closed that day, but then called me to say it would be Monday. When I picked up the shoes on Monday they were ruined and the pictures you will see speak for themselves. The attendant maintained that they did a good job and that this was quality work. I asked to speak to the owner and they refused to give me his information. They said he would call me, but he never did. I had to call back the next day, which at that point he still wouldn't speak me. Finally he agreed to speak to me after I had to threaten to call a lawyer. The owner refused to admit they messed up, said it was my fault they were in that condition and would not offer to cover any of the cost to see if I can get them repaired somewhere else. The owner already has one Better Business Bureau complaint for treating someone horribly and here is a second situation. I would give this place a zero stars if that was possible. I left my shoes at Bobby's about a month ago they told me they would take three days to reglue them. returning today they were still not ready after coming back for the third time so I asked just to have my shoes given back to me unrepaired. He told me that he did not have time to look for them and I should sure you're waiting on me I would like to have my shoes he said he would not look for them until the end of the day and I said no I need them now he again refused and called Forest acres police who I also called to make sure that they were coming to resolve the dispute. I got my shoes back very promptly when the policeman asked for them and then left. He told the policeman that I was extremely rude and screaming and that he had it on video he could show them. I said please show them the video they will say he was actually screaming and rude. They are running at least three months behind I heard him tell someone on the phone so do not leave your shoes at Bobby's shoe repair. Great place. Shoes repaired expertly and politely and at better prices than the competition. I had some really old and difficult Nike Air shoes, they used best adhesive and did cosmetic fixes as well Adhesive is very expensive and it was a trail and error process. I give Bobby's shoe repair five stars for the re-soling and re-heel work on my mens dress oxfords. But I give them zero stars for organization and zero stars for customer service. The shoes were not ready when promised, so my trip to pick them up was a waste. I phoned the next time they said the shoes would be ready and no one could find them--this is a major defect for customers like me who are visiting from out of town. The tart-tongued rancid-souled octegenarian battleaxe who serves as the visible front of the business made it clear she had nothing but contempt for a customer who paid in advanced and only wanted the shoes he needed to wear for work. It is a shame that such nice shoe work is yoked with such anti-social venomous staff and such abysmal disorganization. I was a little put off when I first walked in because the place is a wreck and the staff is incredibly sloppy. I figured I'd give it a try so I left my sneakers with them and they said they would be ready in 2 weeks at the latest and they would give me a call. 2 weeks passes and no word so I stopped by. They tried to give me a pair of sneakers that weren't mine then told me mine would be a few more days. Another week goes by and no word. I go back in and pick up my sneakers. Shocked to see that my white high-tops are covered in what looks like blue spray paint. Not to mention the job was sub-par in general. I mentioned something and the girl took them to the back. A coworker recommended Bobbys Shoe Repair, however this was by far one of the worst retail experiences I've ever had. Not only is the store itself disorganized, there is poor communication and lack of much needed management. Shoes are not done within the time frame they tell you, "a call" when your shoes are ready is highly unlikely, and count on them not being able to locate your shoes when you go to pick them up. I dropped my boots off on 10/24/18 and after 3 weeks with no call found out they lost them and would ''call me" when they located them. After another 2 weeks went by & no call I went up there and they were still lost. When I finally was able to wear them for the first time the sole detached and once again had to go back. They "fixed them" free of charge, however when I got them back they looked horrible. You can clearly see gaps and discoloration of material, as well as where the sole does not fit the boot, glue was everywhere as well as whatever paste like stuff they use. I was told that in order to be refunded they would keep the boots. Not only is that ridiculous, but is price gouging considering the boots were $190.00. The shoes and purse looked fine when I picked them up--the work they did was fine. However, it took almost three weeks to fix the heels of a pair of gentleman's shoes. And when I called, the phone number did not work and I could not leave a message. Long review: My mil dropped a pair of my husbands shoes off, a month later he picked up his shoes (husband lost track of time) then dropped a pair of mine off. Per Bobby's shoe repair my shoes would be ready in a few days or within the week, seeing as he dropped them off on a Monday. Time got away from me, a few wks after my shoes were supposed to be ready I called they couldn't find my shoes, my husband didn't give me the ticket. Gave them a description of my shoes & said they would call me back okay fine but never called me back. Next day I found the ticket called Bobby's Shoe Repair, still can't find the shoes, a week later I call still can't find shoes with ticket number. Going through the same story 2 more times within a 2 week time period I finally had enough went to Bobby's shoe repair to either get my shoes or money or unrepaired shoes...well low & behold they had my shoes with no ticket! So moral of the story either don't drop your shoes off or if you do stay on top of them & even go to the store to have them find your shoes if they can't find them when you call! The owner/management of Bobby's should be embarrassed to have a service business. On March 12 I dropped off a pair of shoes that needed new heels along with one shoe that needed a seam stitched. The person said it would take 1.5 weeks and that they would call me. Two weeks later (March 26) I called and was told that the shoes were being repaired and would be ready after 4:00. I was not able to get to Bobby's until 3 days later (Thursday). When I went to pick up my shoes they handed me my pair of shoes but could not find the one shoe. The clerk asked for me to describe it; twenty minutes later after a fruitless search, she wrote down my name, phone number, and a description of the shoe and promised to find it and call me. Several days later (Tuesday, April 3rd) after no call I called and she said something like 'We found it but now cannot find it". I offered to stop in with the other shoe so that she could see what it looked like - she asked that I take a picture and text it to her. I told her I would so immediately - which I did and asked that she reply so I knew that she received the text. Three hours later after no text or phone call I called. She said...oh let me check my phone - she did and said she received it and would call me back. Of course she did not. On Wednesday a friend of mine went to Bobby's to retrieve my shoe (not really sure what I expected). She waited twenty+ minutes. She feels that they were fixing it while she waited and frankly I think that is what happened. The workmanship on t he one inch that needed to be stitched (for $10) was shoddy and a stitch or two was attached to the inside of the bottom of the shoe. What a charlatan!! Took 3 inch pumps in to have them lowered. I was told they could only lower them 1/2 inch which was fine. Well, they were not done when promised even after my calling to check on them. When I went to pick them up, the heal tips had a gap in between the heal and the tip so I asked them to see if they could close the gap. Well, this man that worked on my shoes hammered my shoe with a hammer knocking holds in the inside heal of my shoe and I still don't think they actually lowered the heal. I got off work early to make it there and was told they were not ready and then the gentleman couldn't find one pair. After waiting fifteen minutes, he found them and they were not ready.
