The menu is not a long one but there is something for most taste. Having a shorter menu means a fast kitchen which we all noticed. We got our food much quicker than other places our group have gone. My sesame chicken was a little more spicy than I wanted but was just as good warmed up the next day. All at the table loved the food. After thinking about this experience, I can't decide which was worse. The state of the bathroom, our table location or the quality of food. First off, I should have asked to move to a table that was not located at the feet of the table above us, so that's on me. However, really there should be no table here to begin with. Especially being right next to the stairs to the small platform leading up that everyone apparently likes to jump from. Multiple service staff and guests jumped from small step causing the floor to shake every time. So already we were off to a rocky start, pun intended. My visit to the bathroom was less than pleasant. I've been in porta-potties at music festivals that were in better condition. In general the entire bathroom was completely disgusting and not maintained at all. It smelled like sewage despite the three-wick candle burning dangerously close to the large roll of brown paper towel. The paper towel dispensers were empty, hence the giant roll on counter that also served as a sponge for the splashed sink water. There was a leak in one of the stalls so as you are in the stall a mystery drip steadily falls from the ceiling. There is a square food service container on the floor attempting to collect it, which is fine unless you are actually trying to use the stall. Perhaps an out of order sign? As for the food, it was okay. I appreciate the transparency of Gardein being used for most vegan options and that the menu clearly states what items are vegan or not. Everything was very greasy, I knew it would be similar to bar food but tots dripping with grease was excessive and I felt really sick after eating. I tried the berry mojito mocktail, which I had to then muddle most of the ingredients myself and it still tasted bland. The service was okay, we had a mix up with our appetizer which was quickly remedied with our server and not a big deal. Given the noise volume, I am not surprised he misunderstood. The overall experience gave me the atmosphere of a college basement party. It was excessively loud, dirty and greasy. I'll have to be honest. When I first heard the name of this restaurant, I thought it had a snarling "old west" sounding name, like One Eyed Betty's. If I opened a restaurant called Bronco Billy's, you'd go to try it out, wouldn't you? Of course you would! I admit that the name brought me here. I'm glad they tricked me into coming here. Once, we opened with beautifully greasy tortilla chips, with a rich cheese dip. Most recently, we had a spinach artichoke dip. The lobster bisque was gorgeously rich, and very lobstery: It's like the lobster claws clamp down on your taste buds and you hear LOBSTER!! I got the shrimp po boy with tots. I will always order tots if it's on the menu, and these were crispy little tater bombs. But, the po boy? I'm sorry to say we Northerners frequently get it wrong at restaurants. Everything about it is great, from the thick French bread to the fresh shrimp to the remoulade that was just spicy enough. But, give me a few more shrimp, and I will be extremely happy. This is very tasty, but I want more of it. Another time, I got the mushroom melt. The mushrooms are robust and flavorful, plus there is ample tasty cheese and onions. How could you screw that up? Here's how. You say you want to substitute the flawless and quite hefty French bread for naan bread. I don't recommend this. It was a sloppy mess, and it ruined the bread. I couldn't save myself from this disaster, but the waiter rescued me by bringing me the proper bread. Sometimes, the customer is not always right. You can tell you really like a place when you start talking about the next time you can eat there before you actually finish your meal. That happened here. Igloo server not wearing a mask. 2,500 new COVID cases per day in our county alone, and our server couldn't bother to wear a mask even when he'd enter our igloo -- a small, enclosed space. We specifically chose Bobcat Bonnie's because we thought we could have a nice, safe dinner in an igloo at one of our favorite local restaurants. Wrong. We drew the proverbial short straw and somehow got assigned the only employee we saw not wearing a mask. And not only that, but he lacked the self-awareness (or respect, probably) to realize that we'd rush to put our masks on every single time he'd roll into the igloo like the Kool-Aid Man, quickly and without warning. 2 years into a pandemic, and this guy couldn't do something so simple that 5-year old kids do it every day at school. It took at least 10, maybe 15 minutes, for them to arrive at our table. Which is crazy considering how simple what we ordered was. My glass for my mimosa was too tall and actually wouldn't fit under the juice canisters for the mimosa bar, and the Bloody Mary bar was very bare and out of a lot of ingredients (and no it was not almost time for brunch to be ending). The rest of our party arrived and we placed our food order. I ordered the chicken avo sandwich with fries, which was nothing special at all, sort of flavorless. My husband got the smothered potatoes with carnitas and eggs. He said they were mediocre, I thought they had much more flavor than my sandwich. After we got our food no one came back to check and make sure they everything was ok. We were waiting on a chance to ask for hot sauce but we're unsuccessful in waving someone down. My sister also order some of their cereal shooters (when we placed our food order) which were brought out at the very end of our meal. You could tell they had been just sitting as the whipped cream on top had started to melt. And it wasn't even the correct ones that she ordered. The waiter was nice enough to take them off of the bill for us. The hi-light of our meal was my husbands Bloody Mary, which was from the build it yourself Bloody Mary bar. My first time here was last Friday night and it was such a great experience! We arrived for dinner around 6 and we had a concert in Detroit that night so we were on a little bit of a time crunch. We were able to squeeze all 10 of us into our small 6 person booth/table and Derek came around regularly to check on us and get us everything we needed. He truly went above and beyond and was completely unbothered by it seemingly as well, which I super appreciate because I know it was a lot more than he signed up for, in addition to all the other tables he had already! The restaurant was popping - I mean...it was a Friday night, but we were well taken care of. What was even more impressive is that Derek handled everything without writing a SINGLE THING DOWN! The memory! The cool, calm, collected! Every single one of these 5 stars goes to him. He's the BEST! Food-wise, we ordered a TON of appetizers to share for the table and then most of us ordered entrees as well. Everything was delicious, but what truly stood out over the rest were the chicken wings. They didn't bother to tell us that they where out of anything when we got there which is expected if your out of a long list of things. Drinks: Hands down the drinks are delicious there. No problem! Food: Goat Cheese bites: Tasty. Naan: Find another style of Naan Captain Crunch Chicken Fingers: These fingers came out with a dark crust and were fried hard. Biting into one of them was a challenge. I also think that because if it is fried with a sugary coating, that fried faster than than the chicken itself which caused the chicken to be dry and tough. I'd rethink the coating. I like the idea but execution. Perhaps an off day? We ended up not eating it and requested another the Classic Hamburger (what could go wrong with that? Stay tuned) Sesame Chicken: The meal came without the rice initially, as it was supposed to, as it lay upon the green beans. Green beans were tasty enough. The chicken was weak and just bland. It chewed like chicken but....The sauce tasted store bought. We informed our server and someone came to correct the meal. They exclaimed that they couldn't believe they sent the dish out without the rice being included. The rice was bland as well. Naan Club: Very tasty. Had all of the fixings that came with it, hot and ready to eat. The Naan was "dainty" and I'd suggest making your own or using a sturdier Naan. I love a sloppy messy sandwich but the bread (Naan) fell apart (bottom was soaked through). I ate the one half and gave up on the rest. Scrap the Naan and keep it traditional. What's between the bread is fine and I guess you'd stay consistent since there are several items that are already using sour dough. Classic Hamburger: We informed the server with "no pickles". Guess what? 4 or 5 pickles was on the sandwich. The burger itself was delicious and prepared well. However, when you don't want pickle juices running through things....well - you know. Our server was very nice and as an apology gave us a slice of rainbow cake. Yum! Fries and Tots: Out hot and ready to eat. I figure the curly fries were probably already pre-packaged and just needed to be dropped into the fryer. Really the only two things that were good but because they were pre-made. My take away is: rethink the preparation on the chicken fingers. Sugar burns fast in oil or air-those bad boys. Make your own sesame sauce. It's easy and probably even more cost effective (all kitchen ingredients and your customers will notice the difference.) Lastly: I left with this in the back of my mind....Between all of the food options that seem to represent almost the whole world (West Asia, India, Midwest, the South, Tex-Mex, U.K, etc) I'm lost! I want to start by saying, I love Bobcat Bonnies. I've been to the Detroit and Ypsilanti location and both times I love it so I didn't expect this to be any different. I came and dined outside in the tent with the heated lamp. I ordered the breakfast burrito and it was delicious. Huge, cheesy, and full of chorizo and potato! I will say, although it was delicious it wasn't what I wanted to order. I came on a Tuesday at 1pm so I was expecting a lunch menu but was told they only serve brunch. I never had an issue with this at the other locations so I wasn't a fan of this. I mean, it's 1pm I already had breakfast. Overall I wasn't happy with that but I sucked it up and ate it and it was actually delicious and I have a whole half to eat the next morning. So my only concern with this place is their Covid procedure. They have a cute tent outside their restaurant with heat lamps and booths. It consists of 6 booths and I believe 3 or 4 other tables. The booths are directly back to back from each table with something that looks like a shower liner to divide the tables. They did not sit the booths 6 feet apart since they were directly behind each other. The restaurants that I've seen seated every other booth to abide by guidelines, but you can decide if you feel comfortable about that or not. Their food is bad. I ordered a jalapeno popper grilled cheese and was served a barely heated glob of indistinguishable food shapes. ALSO, this local business exploits national tragedies such as the overturning of Roe v. Wade by promoting drink deals to women who are sad. I cannot support a business that attempts to capitalize on the grief of losing human rights. read more

Visiting Ferndale for a curling tournament. Wanted a burger with a gluten free bun. My son and I got the Classic Burger his with gluten free bun. He said it was one of the best burgers, "top three ", he's had. Fries were hot, seasoned, and crispy. We tried the Billionaires Bacon. Nice and sweet. Lev, our server, welcoming and attentive. We'll be back on our next visit to Detroit Curling Club. read more

I'm pretty sure that my followers have figured out that I love Bobcat Bonnie's. Sure, Corktown BB's is my home location, but I love them all, including Ferndale. I've been to Ferndale for dinner, happy hour, brunch, Ferndale Pride, in the patio igloos during wintertime, and most recently, for my birthday dinner during Covid-19 times. The online ordering system that Bobcat set up is phenomenal. It's very clear, straight-forward and easy to order from their website. For my birthday dinner, I went with the grilled salmon with mashed potatoes and my husband got the salmon bowl. Instructions to pick up your food were really clear, and their signage in the back parking lot told us right where to go. I rolled my window down when we got there, told them my name, and they went inside to grab my order. Easy peasy. Since we live in Dearborn and wanted our food to be fresh, we decided to park in the lot and enjoy our dinner in the car. The portions were huge, the food was hot and they even hooked us up with plasticware and extra napkins. I could only finish half of the huge salmon portion I received. It made excellent leftovers the next day! We also splurged and ordered a mixed six-pack of Michigan craft beer. Jacob loveeesss mystery beers, so it was right up his alley. We got a nice varied selection of craft cans, including a couple tall boys and hard-to-find cans. Definitely grab their mystery six pack when you order. It wasn't my ideal birthday dinner, but at least I got to spend it supporting my favorite local restaurant. read more

First time at this location, but I've had Bobcat in Detroit and Clinton township. The tater tots were cold but our server was nice to have the kitchen remake it (portion size has definitely gotten smaller- and it's $10!). The corn chowder was bland. We enjoyed both our entrees (steak naan sandwich and fish tacos). read more
