The ambiance, service, decor and location alone warrant Bobcat Bonnie's 5-star rating from me. The restaurant is located on Michigan Ave (in the old Clara's IYKYK), about a block outside of the heart of downtown, with plenty of parking. The venue is bright and adorably decorated! The decor is welcoming and simple, the playlist AHmazing! Each team member encountered was attentive and helpful. Now the food. We went for snacks and bevs, and opted for the brussels, nachos and chicken strips and fries. The nachos are your basic unbaked nachos. However, we added the pork and it was quite tasty. The Brussels were a nice surprise, a break away from the popular Parmesan or balsamic brussels, these were tossed in honey sriracha and almonds and were delicious. Lastly, we added chicken tenders and fries, the panko breading was tasty and was perfectly done offering the perfect crunch. We had multiple cocktails that were all also delicious, it is worth mentioning that the cold brew bourbon is so yummy! I'm not a cold brew fan but this was a nice take. I was referred here due to its American cuisine and unique dining experience. I was seated immediately but had to request to be in the train car. The train dining car was a nice throwback with unique ornate wood and glass. The TVs, uncomfortable chairs, and R&B music playing took away from the potential charm of the dining car experience. I ordered the Chicken Avo sandwich with tater tots. Unfortunately, after about a 40-minute wait and drinking water with no ice provided, my Chicken Avocado sandwich only had a disappointing amount of avocado paste on it. I was overcharged for a drink on my bill. I recognized it at the time of payment, but the restaurant did not reconcile it until two days later. Indoor/bar/train car and patio seating. Average service. Slow turnaround for a simple sandwich during a non-busy time. Competitive prices but not an accurate description of the item. Maybe you'll have a better experience, but I don't think I will return. read more

I thought my Cobb salad was really good,lean on the shrimp. However, Sue's Naan Club sandwich with onion rings was an amazing meal worth the wait. Tarra was our waitress and she was very good and spot on. Bobcat Bonnie's it's very nice, clean, quiet place to grab a bite to eat. Had the Brussel Sprouts app. Would have been even yummier if the Almonds were freshly toasted. I will return. I felt the options were rather limited. I don't eat grains, very little I can try. Went on a Saturday at noon, which was Brunch only. While I didn't pick that up on the website the menu was varied with several unique offerings. Unfortunately while we had reservations we were seated about 15 minutes after our reservation time. The restaurant was slammed. Unfortunately order took in excess of an hour to be delivered and some of our table of six the food was only warm. The different dishes were tasty however. I've been here once. We sat in the train car, which was awesome! Very unique and fun! However, it took almost a full hour and a half to get our food. Once it was delivered it was barely luke-warm but I was so dang hungry by that time I didn't care! I started mowing down my food. I was a few bites in and came across a long hair in my food. Our waitress was kind and apologetic. She offered to get me a fresh plate. At that point I declined, seeing as it took 1 1/2 hours to receive my food in the first place, and left for Soup Spoon. Delicious! Love this place, might be my new favorite brunch spot in Lansing. They had a great variety of juices and fruits for the mimosa bar, and the breakfast shot flight was good and had a healthy pour. Ordered the billionaires bacon and sausage buddies both were so good! Reservation I made online was non-existent. Coffee was cold and served without cream and sugar or a spoon. Apparently the entire place was out of bacon, gravy, and pancake batter. Don't wait 40 minutes to be told they are out of everything. I guess you can drink there. read more

This was my first visit to Bobcat Bonnie's since the re-envisioning of the old Clara's building. The space was beautifully decorated and airy - although a part of me is partially am appalled that they cut this grand space in half (for a drive-through Starbucks on one side). We opted to sit in the train car, which delighted our five-year-old. We were coming off a weekend camping trip, and felt very comfortable in our casual camping attire. The service was friendly and the food tasty. My meal was the $12 lunch special w the chicken avocado club and chopped salad. The server wisely steered me toward the chopped, which had a tasty lemon dressing. Yum! My sandwich was warm and hit the spot. I can tell they do have legit bacon there. Spicy Vegan Hash- had a good flavor, although it may have been nice to have had the vegan sausage rather as a protein choice rather than the "chicken". The portion size was appropriate and the spice level was fine without being overwhelming. The kid's mac was nice and tasty. The fries were good. We had a table of 6 for Sunday Brunch with reservations. One of our party had a walker. They put our table all the way to the back of the restaurant. Several items on the menu were not available, it took an hour for our food to be delivered to us. It took another 30 minutes to get a second round of drinks for two people. Food was mediocre at best and luke warm. Avocado Bennie had nothing but a thin spread of avocado , Salmon Bennie had a very thin slice of salmon on each piece. Definitely not worth the price. I went to Bobcat Bonnie's in Lansing today with some friends. It's off of Michigan and Larch downtown and has been opened for about 2 weeks now. It is partly located in a restored train car which was super unique! It was so so cute inside and the food was delicious. I will definitely be returning in the near future. We were there during their weekend brunch, but the dinner options sounded really good as well. We ordered the Carnival Waffle to start and split it amongst the table. I ordered the Spicy Hash Bowl which was very tasty (I really liked the habanero sour cream!). One of my friends ordered the Breakfast Sammy which she really enjoyed. The other friend ordered the Chicken Avocado sandwich, which she also liked. The portions were good and the staff was very friendly and inviting. Sat at the bar for drinks and appetizers- the bartender was busy moving around but didn't skip a beat making sure we had refills and even asked if we had a preference for TV sports. The interior was beautifully done and had a really nice vibe. Our server came to the table promptly and took our drink order. The wait staff was efficient and friendly. We all enjoyed our meals and each of us said theirs' was delicious which consisted of the mac&cheese with added chicken, the creole salmon and an order of shrimp pasta. We did enjoy the appetizer of nachos and a cheese dip but I thought it should have contained a little more beans and corn but that was a minor detail.
